I think Holy Spirit is working very hard to teach me about fasting. It started when I saw that video on Clonard and what they do for the Novena of Pentecost.]
I'd never seen anything like that, we certainly don't have anything like that here in Sacramento nor have I ever heard of such a great pouring out of hope and faith during the period before Pentecost.
It ignited a desire to sacrifice in the days leading to Pentecost and a fast came to mind. Even to fast and pray for a few days would lovely.

That was powerful! Our faith in this country has lost its depth I'm afraid. I wish we had such places that would do this for folks suffering. I'm gonna be on the watch though for old churches and monestaries as I travel from now on. I want to find such places here in the US.

What a healing! If only my clients had access to such blessings. Kath

    Kathleen,
It's so evident that you pour yourself into the healing of your clients, you are a true burden bearer, it's where your heart is.
I have a close friend who is under intense physical suffering right now:

In her search for physical healing she found this clip yesterday of a doctor from Clevland, devout Catholic, who is also in a healing ministry. God willing, we are to see him in August, but I know you'll find this interesting:

    Padraig,

It is amazing to realize the number of times the questions, "Where?" and "How?" are asked of Christ in the Gospel of John. The most vivid one that comes to mind is from John 6: "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Jesus never answers in the way we'd like. Especially in the 21st century, it is the concise and precise response that is desired. It's in our nature to pursue the when, where, and how questions, all the moreso when they involve timetables! :? How often I've wished to be Cleopas on the road to Emmaus. What a scripture lesson from the very mouth of Our Lord! Then, in the last century, we have seers who refuse to spill the beans and reveal their secrets. And even if they do, it never seems enough! We just had the example of the pastor here in the States that mistakenly claimed the rapture was to have taken place this past Saturday! Curiosity indeed kills the cat!

As you said, we are to pray and store these things in our hearts. We are to watch and await the guidance of God. We are to take in the Word of God. But most of all we are to pursue holiness! I'm certain Padre Pio knew and understood much more than he let on. Yet, we remember him for his holiness and the love he bore for his spiritual children.

As St. Paul once said, "Love builds up; knowledge puffs up." I guess I'm ranting mostly for my own sake. I think it's important to keep abreast of the signs, but then I get to the point of simply desiring my Savior's presence! :D Maranatha!

Keep posting. I wouldn't miss it for the world! 8)

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Your post reminds me, Terry of what Jesus said:

In Acts 1:7, Jesus said, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.” In Matthew 24:36, Christ taught similarly: “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”

I think Jesus does not mind a certain natrual curiosity about these things , its when we obsess about them they become a problem. As far as I well a lot of Early Christians DID obssess up to the point were they even downed tools and stopped work, expected Jesus to return at any second.

Or even to obssess like poor Harold Camping our New York 'prophet of who it is written:

Deuteronomy 18: 20-22: “But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.”

Harsh, harsh words. But reading scripture anywhere False Prohesy is spoken off it is spoken off in the same very, very severe terms just as anywhere in sciprture homosexuality is spoken of is in the same harsh terms. Nowhere nowhere at all is it given an easy ride.

Anyhow I 'll tel lyou a story that happned to me when I was 16; maybe I told it before but it bears retelling. I was praying one day when I had right out of the blue the strongest feeling of the prsnece of the Arcangel Gabriel and a message to do with the future of the Catholic Church. So I got up my courage, for what I had heard seemed absolutely incredible to me..it still does ....and told my SPiritual Director ..an extremely wise and Holy man who at once began to burst out laughing and thought it absurd.

Talk about having a red face!! Well of course I accepted at once my SPiritual DIrectors verdict and hated myself for being so stupid and was highly, highly embarrassed mortified in fact at being so stupid.

So the years rolled by, I lost my faith entirely and years later when I was 23 as you know I met Our LAdy and came back to the faith and prayer. THank God my Spiritual DIrector accepted this at once, no laughing now but from things he said and remarks other priests made I began to form the strongest opinion that he had changed his mind about what I had been told apparently by St Michael when I was 16. St Michael being as you probably know being the guardian and protector of the Cahtolic Church.

Anyway down the years I have prayed to God over and over again one simple prayer. If what I heard when I was 16 is nonsense please, please just tell me so so I can dump it and move on. I was pretty certin it must be true. But one of the great signs of something being true is that it sticks with you and this was something that happened remember over 40 years ago.

I used a very human logic to this . If it was nonsense than the easiest things in the world would be for heaven to disclaim it. But my shifty brain worked another way , for if heaven did not disclaim it why not? Didn't this mean it was true? But heaven didn't buy into this. In fact I got a very strong message in prayer from Our Lady a few months back, 'No you're not getting an answer to this one, we're keeping silent for a reason'...and if I didn't know her better she sounded a little irritated at my pestering them.

And that was that. So anyway this has always been a great mystery to me ;as has so much else in prophesy. When heaven remains as still as brass I think we have to recall that it does so for a very, very good reason and like very small children we just have to go with this.

For instance sometimes when I talk or write with people I can prayerfully see ( I don't look for this it just comes) that they will be called home to God in the not to far future. I do not tell them this; it is a secret.Would they be better of knowing or not knowing these things? In my opinion in 99% of cases it is better that they do not. They would obssess about it and it would knock them of the balance required for spitiual growth. If the good God wanted them to know their death days He would tell them Himself...and maybe will when it gets a little closer. But its the same with other things.. folks are really far, far,far of not knowing some things.

But anyway, times and seasons..a certain natural healthy curiousity if fine..but there are things that remain secret and should remian secret.

Thank you Padraig...I do think he will be someone great one day. He has been protected by our angels, and his head, though a bit on the big side, is fine and healthy. He's just got a big brain in there (thus the Einstein hair). If you recall, and for those who weren't here then, the doctors thought he had a fusion of the skull bones a month or so after he was born. Before it was to be confirmed by a specialist, everyone on this forum prayed, and many others prayed, and I asked all the angels around our family to all please go to him and rub his little head to soften up those bones, and I asked Mary to please cover his little head with her Mantle, and asked Jesus to also touch his head and heal it if needed. Well, a week or two later the specialist examined him and said he was perfectly fine. He's been fine ever since. Some say the first doctors (there were two who were concerned) simply were wrong...I say no, that it was a miracle, that he did have a problem but it was healed by the time the specialist saw him. I could see a ridge across the top of his head that concerned me. You could see it in some of his early photos. I was very sure they were right, and was glad they had caught it early, but then I asked for intercessions and prayers, and well, now he's fine.

I think he is blessed in a special way, and I am blessed to be his grandma. Love to everyone, and praise and thanks to Jesus, and to the love and care of the angels and our Blessed Mother.

Yes, I think he does now. My son had a big head too when he was a baby, and from photos, it looks like Adam's mom did too. He looks like a perfect combination of them both. Remember the little boy in Close Encounters of the Third Kind? My son looked like him. Cute but a little "topheavy"! Some T-shirts wouldn't go over his head! :)

I would say you're right COnnie, with a healing like this the finger of God is on him, God has special plans for him.

He's a cutie! Need to have a big head to hold a big brain. :)
    Blessings on the little guy.

Hey Lee- I loved watching that video of the charistmatic. She was wonderful. Made me cry- which means my heart is melting a little more by such experiences so I'm glad to feel it.

Pray for my clients that they can forgive themselves and feel God's love. May their hearts melt. Kath

Adam & his mommy & daddy are safe and sound at my daughter's house! They traveled through all those tornadoes and storms these last two days through Oklahoma and Missouri. The severe weather was all around them, but literally "parted" on the map wherever they were traveling! I was worried terribly, but I kept on praying. Even just the wind scared me, as they were pulling a trailer full of stuff. They never ran into any really bad weather while on the road, yet the tornado warnings were in front of them and behind them. When they stayed over tuesday night east of Joplin, MO in Cabool, they did get a tornado warning at 4 am that woke them up from the sirens going off, but nothing bad happened.

All day today they have been just ahead of all the tornado warnings from the new squall line that formed. It was literally like it was chasing them! Big red tornado warning squares! If I didn't know better......
They got to Carbondale ahead of the tornado warnings, and had an hour to unpack some and get settled. When the storms finally caught up with them, they literally weakened right before my eyes on the weather map just as they blew over the area where my daughter lives, in Makanda! The red squares were there, but the storm itself became dishevelled and weak, as if - a bunch of angels blew on it! Thank you so much, Lord, and St. Michael and all the guardian angels! Now hopefully the storms will move on and out for everyone. The kids will be looking at places to rent tomorrow that my daughter has already found for them.

    Ach!
Just look at those pictures! It was a scary night. My son was so cute- he insisted we pray while we were huddled in the basement. He is such a little inspiration!
I'm glad we are all safe- praise the lord for it not being as bad here as in other places.

It seems that Illinois is being spared the worst of the storms this time. I did learn that the kids got out the blessed candles I sent them in preparation for the big hit at my daughter's house. My son told me today that there was massive power outages everywhere, all around them, but my daughter's house and her neighborhood never lost power once! (I attributed it also to the blessed salt she sprinkled...through all the floods and storms, they have not had a big hit there since she did that a month ago...good girl!)
I am very glad you didn't have any really bad weather too, Kathleen. I know there were some warnings for you last night. We were spared up here, just some rain. Did you see that swirl of the front?
It looked like a huge hurricane!
Your son is so great...God has special plans for him too, as you know!

Those blessed candles- what a great way to show God's hand in things.
We only saw the video's on the news, but you could see the swirls that didn't touch down in our town.
Our kids are blessed! Lets keep praying for them, who knows what they will accomplish! They amaze me everyday with their depth of faith. It keeps me on my toes.

I'm praying for Chicago right now. Another tornado heading that way this afternoon.
Did anyone notice the flooding in Montana? Whew! the deluge is great, I don't know that I've ever seen Montana flood like this before. Kath

I saw that, but when I read the warning, it was not a tornado, just a storm that had rotation in it. Anyway its gone now. Montana...oh I did miss that.

Got a bit of new news, now my daughter is going to have a baby! So that's 3 out of our 4 children having babies! The next generation is well on the way!

Awww congratulations, Moms Calling! Babies are fun! My baby is first grandchild to my parents as well as my husband's parents. My grandma's first great geandbaby, too. They're enjoying it. I will keep her in my prayers.

Thank God that you all are safe!
