Soooooo...lets go extreme here and say a priest rapes a child. Don't call the police (attack?)? Just pray for him instead? If you CATCH a priest physically hurting someone, don't tackle him down? Just pray instead?
I'm all for prayer and respect for Priests, but keeping silent about their sins brought harm to a lot of children. Btw, the above "revelation" was private and not approved by the Church.

One thing that bothers me about all of this... is that there is always this desire to reform the church. As if somehow we can reform ourselves into something the world will accept. Until we reform the Church to something where we follow our feelings and urges, and treat it as if it were holy and righteous, the church will never be accepted. I would like to see the Church reform back to Faith. Where the Blessed Sacrament took presedence over Social Justice and the ideas of men. When the Blessed Sacrament was the centre of the Church, Religious Vocations were on the Rise, and Church grew like never before. Too many hippies with "better" ideas entered the Church.

So instead of becoming depressed lets take up the challenge and pray for an end to this time and for the church to get the father and prelate it needs to restore everything.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's the right choice for the job based on his liberal stances, but talking crap about someone, just to talk crap is not right. It's like calling someone evil or a heretic but not backing it up. If you have something specific to say that he's done wrong, well, that something worth discussing. But, in the end, he must be prayed for.
