Actually, it's less about CJ than it is about posters who wish to crush any view they oppose. That is you, CrewDog, the mirror image of Black Lives Matter shouting down the opposition. I offered a particular--glaring--example as a rebuttal.

This morning I just couldn't stand the rank hypocrisy of seeing you cast yourself as a victim for bravely questioning a "Not Approved" and talking about supporters of "Not Approved" as obsessed. Who is a supporter of a Not Approved here?

And yes, slander, since your illiterate and intemperate broadsides are fact-free. Isn't there something, somewhere, about taking God's name in vain?

Oh!! ... by the way Gang! .... In case ya missed it. .,... Ms Harper is the one who started this fight today! As far as I know CJ was not even on the Subject List? Just another reminder ... if Ya needed it? ... that Charlie J is livin' rent free between Ms Harper's ears! As I recall, some months ago, Ms. Harper stated that she was no longer going to "correspond" with this Ol' Mean, Illiterate, Intemperate, Nasty, Slanderous and probably High Smellin' Crewdog:rolleyes:
As some old worthy once quipped: "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned"
    Happy Holidays!, Ms. Harper :)

All here! Hear LittleVoice: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is not only hypocrisy, but also religiouse hatred.
Every one defends or fights against some prophets. Someone defends true prophets and someone defends false prophets. Someone fights against false prophets and someone fights against true prophets.
And the hostile are always those, who defends false prophets and fights against true prophets. They are so hostile, that they judge others and call them "hostile", because they are blind. They have only one argument and they do not want to discuss. They are exactly the same as were the Pharisees. Shall not judge was said! Those, who judge are already judged and are obsessed with the Hell.
Shall not judge the action of your neigbor! Because if you judge it as the sin, God could judge it as the good act. Shall not judge the soul of your neighbor! Because if you judged it as corrupt soul, God could judge it as holy soul. Shall not judge the spirit of your neigbor, because it could be possesed by God, eternal Judge. It could be also possesed by devil, and he was already judged.

Only duty of every Christian is to defend the truth and to mark the sin with true name - the sin against the Love and truth

The problem we have, LV is trying to figure out who/what is TRUE and what is from satan! It's been a problem since The Garden. That is why, Methinks, it's best to focus on Christ, His Teachings and those Teachings in the Magisterium ..... and if we have the time and inclination, we should evaluate what's "Out-There" ... SIGNS, International News, Prophecy/Seers .... Catholic, Protestant & Jewish and see what's good and what's not. What enhances our Faith and what causes anxiety, division and loss of focus on Christ.
There is much confusion, chaos and division today. Time to tend to matters close to Home I'm thinking!

Actually, LittleVoice, we are called on to judge and discern those who claim to speak in God's name. This is especially true with those who urge action and set dates.

It is a grave sin to falsely claim to speak for God. It is a grave sin to promote messages the Church has branded false. Since the Church does not require us to believe even in messages that have Church approval, it is a sin to denigrate those who do not believe in any particular message or vision.

Therefore, we should not try figure out what is true, because only God is True. Every one, who quotes some prophet, causes the fight. I quoted Valtorta and Medjugorje, but now I shut up. Because true prophets spread love and they should be quoted only in one thing - LOVE. If some quotes true or false prophets for curiosity about the future events, he always causes the battle here. All future events are in the Holy Scripture, therefore I founded new thread where I quote only TRUE prophets.

No, you are not called on to judge! We are called on (by st. Paul) to discern true prophets. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse! Today no prophet has Church approval or Church condemnation. Every Christian can see, who preachs other gospel.

With all respect, LittleVoice, we are called on to judge. That does not mean we can say we know the state of anyone's soul. But we can judge ridiculous statements to be false and warn those who may be misled. We can judge on a human level whether the assertions in a message make sense; whether the messenger is boastful, assertive and prone to anger; whether the actions he or she inspires in others are "bad fruits."

And yes, today there are those alive whose messages have received outright Church condemnation. Here's an example from the bishop of Cleveland in 2009:

“I, Richard G. Lennon, hereby declare that the alleged apparitions and locutions to Maureen Sweeney-Kyle are not supernatural in origin... I forbid members of the clergy of any jurisdiction to celebrate the sacraments on the site of Holy Love Ministries. I admonish the faithful of the Diocese of Cleveland to cease gathering for any religious, liturgical, spiritual or devotional purpose on the site of Holy Love Ministries.”

Then there is Maria Divine Mercy. In 2014 the archbishop of Dublin wrote:

"Requests for clarification have been coming to the Archdiocese of Dublin concerning the authenticity of alleged visions and messages received by a person who calls herself “Maria Divine Mercy” and who may live in the Archdiocese of Dublin... These messages and alleged visions have no ecclesiastical approval and many of the texts are in contradiction with Catholic theology. These messages should not be promoted or made use of within Catholic Church associations."

Yes, fallen saint, it's got like that hasn't it :) This thread is such a mess of different topics but I can't resist coming in with my own 'take'.

Part of the problem here is surely connected with what we mean by prophecy and 'a prophet'.

A prophet is surely a messenger of God. He is a witness to knowledge he has been given. He may speak of future events but that is not his prime role. An authentic prophet is one who is a witness to the truth.

This business of 'approved' prophecy gets my blood pressure rising :) Was John the Baptist an 'approved' prophet? Anyone who thinks he has to wait until a prophet is 'approved' is going to miss the boat!

Many non-approved prophets are discussed on this forum. Whether they are 'approved' or not is irrelevant. What is important is whether they are authentic or not!

I think many of the prophets discussed on this forum are not authentic but no one should be judging them as people but only their prophecies or messages.

CJ is someone whom I see witnessing the truth most of the time. He has made some specific predictions which may or may not come true. If they do not come true then, as he has himself said, he is unreliable as a witness of future events but I will still view him positively. This is because he has been witnessing his Catholic Faith in a good and noble way in my book.

    David,
The Church includes among its criteria of messages an investigation into the personal life of any visionary. Among the things it looks for are humility, obedience, charity towards others, attribution of all glory to God and not self. Does the Church have it wrong?

My gosh, Harper! You are continually uncharitable. Why do you feel the need to instigate more discord? Perhaps you should prayer for yourself, bless your heart.

I accept that we have to be aware of any negative qualities of the person but we need to be very careful about passing on to others our 'judgments'. It is too easy to make bad judgments on very limited information.

It's also too easy to make positive judgments on the basis of limited information, or on the passionate but misguided arguments of others. I suspect you agree that one should attempt due diligence on any messenger before coming out pro or con.

Nah, not really new. I just do more lurking than posting. Perhaps I should have used the word consistently instead of continually...
