I thought I should post a warning for Irish people on the forum, especially those living in the South. The Sector Supervisor (in the South-West} of Allied Irish Banks had been visiting Bank Managers in the area and warning them not to lend money to anyone unless they are utterly certain of getting the money back. He says ..and I quote, 'Ireland is about to experience economic conditions not seen since the Irish Famine'. Be warned....things are turning very,very grim indeed, do not trust the media.
That makes me so sad. God have mercy!! It feels like the wave has gone out from shore and there is no higher ground to go to and the Tsunami is coming....(yes, I realize our Lady is our higher ground, but you get the gist...)
I feel like I am living in some terrible Hollywood 'B' movie. Yet I have read the prophecies and listened carefully to the messages of Our Lady..the Warnings all these years. Now the Dark times are on us indeed and not just Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain...and all of Europe. But I have my Faith , poverty I hope great poverty will drive the Irish back the the altar...please God.
What a shock I got this afternoon when I heard this, I nearly fell off the chair! I must fast and pray much, much more...
I agree that the immediate future looks very, very bleak. What gives me the chills is the knowledge that things have been terrible at times before (e.g. mid 14th century with the Black Death, or the time of the Third Reich), but that the Biblical witness is adamant that the distress of the tribulation - if that's what this is, which seems highly likely - will be unparalleled. However, if we see all this with Jesus in Matthew 24:8 or St Paul in Romans 8:22 as the birth pains, or as severe but necessary surgery without which then can be no turnaround given the state of humanity, then there is yet a glorious hope for the world ... We just have to accept that getting from A to B is going to be seriously messy and many of us and our loved ones may be among the casualties. What is certain is that this is no time for the lukewarm. Only true disciples of Christ are going to make it through, dead or alive.
I don't know what I should do other than pray for protection. I know people from this bank and they don't know a thing. There is a lot of problems with farms at the moment. Animals are dying of hunger because of lack of feeding. There has been a big increase in suicide among farmers. Mary
I spent a lot of time over the last 5 weeks helping my brother on his small sheep farm in Ireland. It was grueling in the constant freezing conditions, no animals could be let out the fields as there was no grass, much feed had to be bought in to the farm. Now to top it off a bill from the feed supplier just arrived that looks set to take most of the profits to pay. Every morning small lambs had perished from the night before, it has been very tough. I pray that this and maybe some more financial woes is as bad as it gets before peace comes to us all. I also pray for people to realize that trusting in God will get them through what lies ahead.

What does it profit a man... Padraig's post was on the same day a group reviewing the Irish cstitution decided we should have a referendum on 'gay marriage.' Irish politicians are, for the want of a better term, hell bent on bringing in abortion. We will reap what we sow.,.
I also agree none of this is an accident. This has been planned to enslave people. When people are afraid they can be bent to others will, when they are terrified they become total sheep. It is not Catholics who are sheep, we know right from wrong and will standup against these people, it is people who are so proud of their , 'Intellectual independence' who are sheep. I notice in work this last year we have employed some new young people and they are working very,very hard. I was very impressed by this as I like hard workers, however over time I have become concerned. I think they are frightened. They found it very hard to get a job in the first place and now they have one they are terrified of loosing it. So among them an atmosphere of real and constant fear pervails... Still I have heard reports that more people are going to Churches....though the suicide rate is sky rocketing. People placed their trust in the material and the material has failed as the material always will. I am just wondering now how long it will be til the ax really falls? ..and I wonder how much our Church leaders here in Ireland know about what is coming down? The Church has the best Intelligence in the World. I wish I could say I trust our Bishops, but, frankly I do not. They have given me no reason too. I will pray for them, I will be obedient to them, but no I do not trust them.

Needs are best understood and satisfied by people who are closest to them who act as neighbors and parish members to those in need. It should be added that certain kinds of demands often call for a response which is not simply material but which is capable of perceiving the deeper human need. This is not to mention the welfare states excesses and abuses. REPORTER: I think we are done. BERGOGLIO: Wait. BERGOGLIO: Partially what irritates me to the core is the media's inability to look at anything without looking into the cause of the various problems. That was the first thought that occurred to me too when I read Padraig's post. I live in the South of Ireland. My family has been under such spiritual attack lately, especially my sister who has been trying to evangelise women in the local area through the Women of Grace study programme. Before Easter, and a few days after being baptised in the Holy Spirit at a Life in the Spirit seminar, her 12 year old daughter was bullied out of our local school. The school authorities are afraid to reprimand the kids because their parents are basically bullying the head master and the school's Board of Management. The parish priest, head of the board of management, refused to "take sides" and they made their confirmation without even receiving the sacrament of penance. My niece was too intimidated to attend and had to be confirmed elsewhere. It's frightening how quickly things can turn chaotic, reminds me of the book Lord of the Flies. But it has shown us that satan and his demons are essentially bullies, that's how they work, trying to intimidate us into submission, or at least silence. About a year ago my sister had a vivid dream in which the two patron saints of our local area, Sts Carthage and Declan, appeared to her and told her they would be protecting her. The meaning wasn't clear at the time, but now it's becoming very clear.
As a young father of six and my first four have went through or are preparing to go through the sacraments I have always noticed that things go pear shaped from fights within families to children becoming ill or accidents with cars breaking down etc a few weeks before the child is to receive a sacrament. I have come to be aware that these events are distractions and satan trying to attack or prevent a child from receiving Gods will. As for poverty and finances I take great courage in my what my mother in law (RIP) said one day she was the mother of 11 and her husband was unemployed they were walking the streets one day hoping to find a 50p or so to buy a loaf and her husband said "one day we will be rich love" she replied "We our rich love one day we will have money"
Quis et Deus, Apart from age, I see we have a lot in common: a great love for the Little Flower, six children (though we have two in heaven), and marvelous in-laws! With only Danny at home, it's just a bit more quiet than your household. Congratulations! Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
I too have six children. One is in Heaven. Although I miss her, especially when she would be facing milestones. I am actually grateful that one is in Heaven already. Our final destination. I am happy too that I know that indeed she is safe. She hasn't had to face the cruelty of this world.
