I normally wouldn't bring this topic up because it could produce uneasiness or even examples of confusion wrought by the use of tongues. I remember maryrose once shared how some in her experience minimized Our Lady and the Rosary as though this gift of tongues was more spiritual. Yeesh! But while no longer attending Charismatic prayer meetings with any sense of regularity (last one was probably 5 years ago) I still exercise this gift at times in my personal prayer life. The night I received this gift also clearly stands out in my memory (9/24/77). Anyway, I just stumbled upon this teaching below on youtube and was pleased with the thoroughness and historical continuity in which tongues was highlighted:
