Pope Francis’ first encyclical entitled "Lumen fidei" or “The Light of Faith” was released Friday http://www.news.va/en/news/the-light-of-faith
I think this is really interesting and important. Here our Holy Father who openly and often talks about satan has now in a sense entrusted and consecrated his home, the central place of Our Church on earth, to St. Michael, the archangel who through the power of God defeats evil, defeats satan. Is the Holy Father making preparations for the battle he knows is coming? I only wish that he recommended to pastors throughout the world to re institute the St. Michael prayers at the conclusion of each Mass. Viva Francesco!
I agree. This really caught my attention, especially since St. Joseph - the patron of the Universal Church and terror of demons - was put back into the canon of the Mass as well.
"In consecrating Vatican City State to St. Michael the Archangel, I ask him to defend us from the evil one and banish him. " "We also consecrate Vatican City State in St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus, the guardian of the Holy Family. May his presence make us stronger and more courageous in making space for God in our lives to always defeat evil with good. We ask Him to protect, take care of us, so that a life of grace grows stronger in each of us every day. "
Still seems weird to see two men dressed as popes in white next to each other. Last year who would have predicted such a sight? Strange times indeed.
How many Popes wished for the chance to consult with his predecessor? It seems the Lord is piling on the grace, giving our new Papa everything he needs to guide us in the divine will of God. And to see the two of them, together, consecrating the VATICAN to St. Michael and St. Joseph makes me want to dance. A holy father AND a holy grandfather - we're rich!!!
Just as a thought experiment, if somehow you could have seen this photo in 2012, what would you have thought of it? How would you have possibly interpreted it?

Im not anti semitic, anti protestant, anti gay,I just believe the Catholic Church holds the truth. And everyone else is wrong.Pope Francis just said 'we hold common bonds with the Patriachs' . Well of course we do! He didnt say the Jewish religion is an optional road to heaven.I have a real problem with ecumenism. I hope It is cleared up with the 'WARNING', and TRIUMPH.
