As evil explodes on the world scene unified so will heaven as the remnant spring forth with steadfast courage and faith after a new Pentecost.

Well I know the Southern Netherlands call Amsterdam , 'Babylon' ..quite rightly.

It used to be one of the greatest Catholic missionary countries in the world. But first the clergy bombed then the people.

It's true I would be surprised if it was not annihilated.

Court Lets Obama Admin Force EWTN to Obey HHS Mandate

    by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 6/18/14

Just days before the Supreme Court is scheduled to consider the biggest case against the HHS abortion mandate that is a part of Obamacare, a lower court is forcing the Catholic television station EWTN to obey it.

District Court Judge Callie V.S. Granade of Mobile, Alabama issued an opinion yesterday denying EWTN Global Catholic Network protection from the government mandate that it must provide coverage of contraception, abortion-inducing drugs and sterilization as part of its employee health care coverage.

“We are extremely disappointed with the decision reached by the court in this case,” said EWTN Chairman and CEO Michael P. Warsaw in an email to LifeNews.

He added: “The opinion issued is clearly inconsistent with the decisions reached in nearly all of the cases decided to date. The fact that the court has dismissed the serious issues of conscience and religious freedom that EWTN has raised is very troubling.”

“As an organization that was founded to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church, we do not believe that contraception, abortion-inducing drugs and voluntary sterilization should be defined as health care. We simply cannot facilitate these immoral practices,” said Warsaw. “We have no other option but to continue our legal challenge of the mandate,” Warsaw continued. “We are making an immediate appeal to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.”

EWTN filed its original lawsuit in February 2012 after the government issued the first set of rules for the mandate. That first suit was dismissed on technical grounds by Federal Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn of Birmingham in March 2013.

EWTN filed its current lawsuit October 28, 2013 against the Department of Health & Human Services and other federal agencies seeking to stop the government from imposing the HHS contraception mandate and protect EWTN’s constitutional rights. The State of Alabama, through its Attorney General Luther Strange joined EWTN as a co-plaintiff in the new lawsuit.
“Alabama has a proud history of protecting our First Freedom,” said Attorney General Strange. “We have been honored to continue that tradition by standing with EWTN and protecting rights of conscience for all Alabama citizens, and we will continue to support EWTN as it appeals the district court’s disappointing decision.”

“This decision is out of step with the overwhelming majority of decisions in similar cases nationwide,” said Lori Windham, Senior Counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which filed both lawsuits on EWTN’s behalf. “Over 80% of cases have protected religious objectors from this mandate.”

The Supreme Court decision in the monumental Hobby Lobby case against the abortion mandate in Obamacare is expected either this week or next.

The Obama administration says it is confident it will prevail, saying, “We believe this requirement is lawful…and are confident the Supreme Court will agree.

The Supreme Court is also taking the case of the Mennonite cabinet makers forced to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs.

A December 2013 Rasmussen Reports poll shows Americans disagree with forcing companies like Hobby Lobby to obey the mandate.

I had not heard of Obama intention to issue yet another executive order, but glad the US bishops are on it, although with this POTUS I'm not sure there objections will matter. This could be a very, very serious threat to religious freedom as it's wording appears so broad. Stay tuned...

The signs are that they will use equality legislation to marginalise and eventually persecute Christians who oppose sinful practises.

Right. Our enemy used to be an angel of light, and this plan is diabolically shrewd. First, this tsunami of cheering on the homosexual lifestyle, then painting anyone opposed as hateful biggots. Now we can be persecuted for that, which the average Joe will go along with, when he would never sign up for outright religious persecution.

Despite the brilliance God gave him in the beginning, our enemy is still a defeated foe, humiliated and crushed by the cross.

He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world!

Yes, I think I was so much in the world to see it but all of started quite a while ago in terms of diabolical disorientation and as a baby boomer I am not sure I every grew up when it was not so. I listen now to songs I loved in the 70's growing up and songs my kids listened to growing up in the 90's and 2000's and so many are just so morally bereft and yet I was totally fine with and even embraced and loved so much of what was happening in pop culture. I agree with Michael Brown that we live in a very upside down world and I am so thankful that the Lord allowed the scales to fall off my eyes as I did not guard my heart enough or the hearts of my kids and that is a tough thing to face but Thank God for His Mercy.

I just felt the need to respond.... I work with people, and over the years I have witnessed that individuals do not know what's right from wrong anymore- what's wrong is now right!

There are more people using the system shall we say. The hardest part is for those of us that chose our lifes work to help others, are left feeling used and those that truly need help are getting lost or just can't get any help (because there are so many others that do not need it, but know its there so just take it and use it all up). It's truly sad!

Las Vegas Will Go Dry If Water Levels Drop 7% Further - Lake Mead Hits Record Lows
    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-...els-drop-7-further-lake-mead-hits-record-lows
Six weeks ago we highlighted how "screwed" Las Vegas is as the ongoing 14-year drought weighs on water levels. Today, AP reports, Lake Mead - the main source of fresh water for Las Vegas and its 40 million visitors - just hit record low levels at 1080 feet. Most concerning - at 1,000 feet, drinking water intakes will no longer function and Las Vegas will go dry. As analysts concluded previously, "unless it can find a way to get more water from somewhere, Las Vegas is out of business. Yet they’re still building, which is stupid."
    As AP reports,
Once-teeming Lake Mead marinas are idle as a 14-year drought steadily drops water levels to historic lows. Officials from nearby Las Vegas are pushing conservation, but are also drilling a new pipeline to keep drawing water from the lake.
Hundreds of miles away, farmers who receive water from the lake behind Hoover Dam are preparing for the worst. The lake has dropped to 1,080 feet above sea level this year - down almost the width of a football field from a high of 1,225 feet in 1983. A projected level of 1,075 feet in January 2016 would trigger cuts in water deliveries to Arizona and Nevada.
At 1,000 feet, drinking water intakes would go dry to Las Vegas, a city of 2 million residents and a destination for 40 million tourists per year that is almost completely dependent on the reservoir.
Bagnall, who owns Morningstar Farms in Coolidge, Arizona, worries about the future of farming in the region. Tighter supplies mean there will be less farming and fewer dollars going to agricultural services like fertilizer suppliers.
"Eventually," he said, "the prices are going to hit the consumer. Sooner or later, it's got to go up. So it's just a domino effect."
    As we concluded previously,
One proposal is for landlocked Nevada to pay billions of dollars to build solar-powered desalination plants in the Pacific off Mexico, taking Mexico’s share of Colorado River water in exchange.
But Mr Mrowka said: “The Colorado is essentially a dying river. Ultimately, Las Vegas and our civilisation in the American South West is going to disappear, like the Indians did before us.”

The bottom line - get there now, watch the fountains, drink the water, swim in the lake... (and sell your house)

I saw that Fatima and instantly thought how interesting that the dessert is taking back the city of sin. Another sign of the times I would say.

Archbishop of Mosul: "I have lost my Diocese to Islam - You in the West will also become the victims of Muslims"
August 9, 2014. The young ask for guns. The elderly approve. "Our sufferings today are the prelude of those you, Europeans and Western Christians, will also suffer in the near future," says Amel Nona, 47, Chaldean archbishop of Mosul exiled in Erbil. The message is unequivocal: the only way to end the Christian exodus from the places that witnessed its origins in the pre-Islamic age is to respond to violence with violence, to force with force. Nona is a wounded, pain-stricken man, but not resigned. "I lost my diocese. The physical setting of my apostolate has been occupied by Islamic radicals who want us converted or dead. But my community is still alive." He is very glad to meet Western media. "Please, try to understand us," he exclaims. "Your liberal and democratic principles are worth nothing here. You must consider again our reality in the Middle East, because you are welcoming in your countries an ever growing number of Muslims. Also you are in danger. You must take strong and courageous decisions, even at the cost of contradicting your principles. You think all men are equal," Archbishop Amel Nona continues, "but that is not true: Islam does not say that all men are equal. Your values are not their values. If you do not understand this soon enough, you will become the victims of the enemy you have welcomed in your home."

but will not hear and may have eyes to see but will not see be cause of what Sr. Lucia called the diabolic disorientation. But what puzzled me about the article was what Mr.Cremonesi said about the "message is unequivocal: the only way to end the Christian exodus '' ..."is to respond to violence with violence". What about the power of prayer. Am I being naive?

Finally Obama shows rage against ISIL after Journalist Beheaded. Genocide is ongoing but perhaps, there will be more of an international rally to control ISIL in Iraq.

What rage did Obama show? Was that the quick presser he pulled and then ran to the golf course:

'One thing we can all agree on is a group like ISIL has no place in the 21st century,' he said.

As with his last public statements, Obama followed a brief speech with a round of golf, according to a White House pool report.
