Garadandal, We are breaking out with flu every where here and doctors are handing out tamiflu as well. It takes 5 days to culture the swine flu and most are better by the time they get results. I hope that Ryan is on the road to recovery, bumpy though it is. My son and a good friend's son are both down with the flu. A wonderful combatant for it is oscillococcinum, a homeopathic remedy, which can be purchased at health food stores or really good markets. I restocked my medicine cabinet with it today so I'm ready...boy this flu comes on really fast. Gail
Garabandal, please tell me how Ryan is doing. My son has recovered as well as my friend's son. I keep boning up on what we are supposed to do to combat the flu, mostly I find it's common sense and a really good immune system. All blessings to you household.
Gail, Ryan is just over the worse, still very tired. The Tamiflu made him sick initially, so we were worried about that. We took all the precautions to make sure it did not spread around the house - we were like a hospital ward for a few days & it was hard work on top of everything else. I would not like my 11 year old to get it and would be worried about the effect of Tamiflu on children. Ryan made an interesting comment as he said he could understand how the swine flu could kill old and vulnerable people. I fear that it will spread like wild-fire come the autumn. And if it mutuates it will be a serious disease. God Bless you and your family
I'm so glad he's over the worst of it although it sounds as though he was very sick. Praise God that he is on the mend. So we go back to the basics: washing hands, avoiding those who have it, making sure we sleep, eat and rest well and of course prayer. Your plate is still so full, we'll heap more prayer on for your family.
I appreciate that. My father-in-law hasn't been too well this week either so my poor wife Margaret is stressed out. It's been the toughest summer we've ever but learning to rely on God. Thank God we got to Medjugorje in early July, which was a real blessing.

Padraig - thanks Look at Job - he trusted in God even though things collapsed around his ears!! These trials have tested our faith - Margaret is probably at the point of asking why? A year ago I would have been the same but something has changed in my life and this forum has helped me so much- I actually really and truely trust in God. I know he is with us in these tribulations and Jesus is so close right now. Jesus is with us in the good times and in the bad times, thank God! I was fortunate in that I got a pre-warning about this from God - in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament several months ago, I had an interior inspiration, as I prayed for my wife, simply saying 'Margaret will suffer a season of sorrows'. I sensed that this was about both her father and mother [however, I did not tell her!] So there are no excuses for me - and I have prayed, supported and carried her to the best of my abilities through the sorrows but the season has not yet ended. I would ask you to remember her as the wounds of love run deep in her heart for she truely loves and adores her parents.
My father-in-law was taken into hospital last night with a shortage of breath so we are for Fermanagh for the weekend to visit him and look look after Margaret's Mum. Keep us in our prayers as our stress levels continue to rise!! God Bless
