That prayer was composed 1917 when the world was 'better' than it is today.

I often think living in such sinful times is a kind of punishment for the Christian - all around is sin and blasphemy and it is hard to take. How the saints in heaven must be crying out for justice.

And they must be praying for us and ready to come to our aid at the slightest invitation.

    Lee,

This prayer taught to the children by the Angel of Portugal is engraved upon my heart. Virtually every time I enter a church and kneel before the Blessed Sacrament I pray it right off. It's a wonderful launchpad and reminder of to Whom I bend the knee and Who it is that loves sinners more than I!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Praise God Mario, you have returned to us and with such a great confirmation in prayer.
I was unfamiliar with this Fatima prayer and loved it immediately. I'll have to make it my own I know.

I love that prayer. Our previous parish priest (now retired) used to include it in a litany of prayers straight after Holy Communion when there was no hymn singing. It was followed by this prayer which I love too & I always try to say both after Holy Communion:

I kiss the wounds of thy sacred head with sorrow deep & true
may every thought in my mind today be a million acts of love for You

I kiss the wounds of thy sacred heart with sorrow deep & true
may every beat of my heart today be a million acts of love for You

I kiss the wounds of thy sacred hands with sorrow deep & true
may every touch of my hands today be a million acts of love for You

I kiss the wounds of thy sacred feet with sorrow deep & true
may every step I take today be a million acts of love for You

I kiss the wounds of thy sacred shoulder with sorrow deep & true
may every cross I bear today be a million acts of love for You

Mmmm, that's beautiful. Sometimes I think the church in America is irreverent and slothful, especially on the west coast.
I remember my first pilgrimage to Italy and finding they were all from an Italian church in New Jersey. I saw a side of the Catholic church I'd never known about. I learned devotions and heard prayers and saw gestures completely unknown to me. It was terrific. Some of the gestures not so terrific.
