It's all about money. The wars are a $$$$$$$$$ laundry. Some people maintain that Israel is actually a US proxy. They may be right. Weapons sales is big business - about level with agriculture in the US economy. Arms manufacture provides well paid jobs that are unlikely to be outsourced to poorer countries. Helping Israel "defend" itself against every country in the region generates a constant demand for more and better weapons. Americans didn't care a whole lot when countries that had nothing to do with 9/11 were being destroyed. How many of them cared when the Albright woman dismissed as collateral damage the death of nearly half a million Iraqi children from US sanctions? Sure, now that they're feeling the pinch of jobs being outsourced, they want to make America great again. But the America they want restored is the America that benefited from wars and the protection racket that empires practice. If they were getting their fair share of the spoils, would they really care about the forever wars? I don't think so unless American soldiers were being killed in similar numbers to the lives lost in Vietnam. Proxies have solved that problem. A big proportion of the money spent on wars ends up back in the US, except maybe in the case of Israel but Israel has served its purpose. There's also the money US owned businesses make from the natural resources in underdeveloped countries and the influence accruing to the US in those countries. Then there's USAID and all the other NGO's manipulating everything from cultural changes to political power in countries that are supposedly beneficiaries. That's empire and it lasts as long as it works well enough for the population at home, but then the chickens begin coming home to roost and it all begins coming apart at the seams. Throw in a few alternative Big Brother countries for the client states and the decline will happen faster. You're fortunate in the US to have all the resources you need to see you through any decline and prosper again. How you manage it will make all the difference. The Big Pharma lobby is a home grown problem. Sure, fentanyl is probably mostly imported but fentanyl is only a symptom of an underlying disease that won't be cured by money. I'm afraid that Europe is banjaxed. Our leadership is arguably worse than yours and the likely replacements give me nightmares. Jacques Baud says that democracy in the US and most European countries gives us an elected king or emperor rather than an inherited monarchy. I think he's right. Europe has all the same problems as the US without the resources.
I came across something recently about Mrs. Adelson. I can't remember whether it was a written article or a video. The gist of it was that Mrs. Adelson makes most of her money not in Las Vegas but in a former Portuguese colonial island off the coast of China. The island will be under full Chinese control within a few years, similar to Hong Kong. Gambling is illegal in mainland China so her casino attracts a lot of Chinese gamblers. Imagine the potential for blackmail but I'm sure she would never countenance such a thing. I think that she also has a casino in Singapore.
I totally agree with what you are saying. However most Americans in general never had a clue and never benefited from any of the wars. In fact they lost a lot on average. People in general are only starting to find out since Trump came into office. Social media played a huge role in people becoming aware. Before that everyone was fed only propaganda on both sides of the political divide.
Most media outlets don’t even bother to report anymore. This is being carried out with the full support of the Trump administration.
I think that they probably did have a clue that something was amiss but they didn't connect the dots. And it would be unfair to blame them given the tangled web of connections. I could only stomach about ten or fifteen minutes of this discussion, but you might find it interesting: Here's Applebaum's wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Applebaum She has all the right pedigree and CV. Unfortunately for the home country of Pope St. John Paul 11 and St. Faustina, her husband is the Polish Foreign Minister and my guess is that she is the power behind his throne. The swamp is deep and wide. There will always be a Caesar reigning over us in this life. We have to render to him what is his. When we support, excuse or turn a blind eye to ethnic cleansing or genocide, we render to Caesar what is God's. We don't need a piece of paper from an Ivy League university to learn what God has written on every human heart. The world is in a bad place. Western powers are evil. Eastern powers are also evil. We can hope that the growth of the faith in Africa will produce better world leaders for future generations.
