It is on the undeveloped side of the island. I have been to Hualien. It is very beautiful--mountauns and forests and deep gorges. Apparently no one has been injured thanks be to God.

Scary, watch the ash clouds rising, I see monster after monster ascending. Its not just a mushroom cloud, its like a multitude of them. God help them.
