No offence taken. I wouldn't say no to a latte right now. A cigarette along with it would make my day. This is going to be a very long lent. The Pope's view of the world does appear to be heavily influenced by his Latin American background. Depending on our own background and view of the world, that can be a plus or a minus. We'll just have to take it up with the Holy Spirit when the time comes to account for ourselves. The video was very forgettable, not worth a fuss.

Both you and DeGaulle have taught me a lot. Thank you both
I know I support Francis almost always but I do have to say the papal videos will have to start showing the odd Chalice, cross or Our lady before too long. Its OK having a few honeypot videos to start with to gather the punters but they will have to start pointing directly at Christ fairly soon'ish.
Hi Dolours, Reading some of your posts, I must say, I am amazed at your grasp of current affairs ! Both you and DeGaulle have taught me a lot. Thank you both
Thank you, Josephite, for the compliment. I'm afraid that none of us can claim to have a true grasp of current affairs because there is so much filtering of the news. First the news is filtered by politicians' and companies' spin doctors, then it is filtered through the reporters' world view or the vested interests of their employers, and finally it is filtered through our own world view. We don't need a huge grasp of current affairs to see that the world is sick. The evidence is all around us. Looking at the graphic image of partial birth abortion that Beth B posted, where babies have their brains sucked out through an opening in their neck, it brought home to me the mammoth task the Pope faces in bringing Christ's message to a world that not only embraces such barbarity but offers it as a merciful solution to poverty through supposedly humanitarian organisations. Wielding a big papal stick won't penetrate such moral depravity. Changing hearts will take soft words from the Pope and an abundance of grace from the Holy Spirit. Pope Francis hit the nail on the head when he spoke of cultural colonialism. Coincidentally, Facebook have tripped themselves up in India on the very subject of colonialism. Strike one for the Holy Spirit. If it is proven that the Zika virus was caused by the genetic modification of mosquitoes, strike two could be around the corner. Keep on praying that the Holy Spirit is whispering in the Pope's ear and that Francis isn't too distracted to hear and follow Divine guidance.
