26 things to get done before the global debt collapse

  1. Geez--I like how you summarized all that...lol

I know that we will be in our home for a while. That has been shown to me. AFTER that while, I don't know. I do trust my angel will lead me to do what we have to do. My husband is a rock so I pass all through him and then we make a decision together. So be it. Its that hard and that easy...

wow...I can't believe people were making all those preparations for Y2K...I think I only stocked up on beer :D

I agree with MS7, Garabandal that the economy will collapse leading to a breakdown in society. So I think it is prudent to make some plans...as long as we don't panic and go crazy. we used to have a thread here called "active preps" startied by Padraig some time ago, but I think we lost it when the forum site was moved to the new server.

I think we need to prayerfully consider what we need to do to prep for an economic collapse and persecution. For some reason I have a feeling I will be fleeing at some point...like hiding in the woods or being on the move. Kind of weird and it may be my imagination...but you never know. I have been learning about survival in the wilderness, like building shelters, building a fire, etc. I do know some people who have these types of skills, so I've been picking their brains and making mental notes. But, I haven't put anything into practice yet. But I will pass on this tip to you about starting a fire. I guess vaseline on a cotton ball will ignite immediately and stay lit long enough for you to put your twigs, then sticks, etc. on it to start a fire. The same with those little packets of alchohol wipes. so that, along with matches, is all you need in the woods. I will also look into dehydrating food (like stews) and vacuum sealing them. They will last like 3 years, are light to carry, and you just need to add water to them and they taste like you just cooked it. That's what I'm told anyway ;)

I recommend maybe taking a self defense class. They are good skills to have regardless, and will get you in shape. I've been taking one for over 2 years now.

I'm a bit worried about animals. I only live 10 miles from a major city, but we are already have an issue with coyotes, foxes, and fisher cats. I've seen coyotes cut through the yard at 2 in the afternoon and this spring there was a dead fisher cat on the street about 3 houses from me. Now imagine no garbage pick-up for a few weeks straight...all the accumulated garbage from everyone is really going to attract those animals and we'll have a big problem. that is when I will want a gun!! If anything just to fire it in the air to scare the animals away.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Hey we have different points of view with Medjugorje, but you have my sense of humour. :)

I could see you sitting back with my husband enjoying a few beers, while the world around you are in panic, and saying "why doesn't everyone just relax and have a beers."

Why don't you learn how to do archery and bow hunt? My 12 yr. old daughter and 15 yr. old son just got their license and then you could kill one of those animals for food for your family??

Potato Sack, I live outside of Boston and we are having a problem with coyotes, too. It's not safe for small children and pets. They're even in Boston, and a visiting friend told me coyotes were breeding in Central Park in NYC. But they do have a natural enemy in our area. People walking in the marsh areas have been finding mutilated coyotes. Heads and tails cut off. The cops say it's satanic rituals. You know, it's those nice witches that abound in and around Salem. They're very busy building up to their big feast day, Oct. 31'th.

As for stocking up, how about having a mass kit on hand? There are some priests who say they will travel at this time.

Hey Patrice - I'll bet we live in the same general area...we should meet for coffee!! Yes, I remember a coyote in South Boston a few years ago. It was a popular dog walking area, and it was going up to people and they were petting it because they thought it was a dog!! It was put down when people realized what it was. I always worry about my cats when I let them out. When they stay out after dark I always say a little prayer to St. Assisi. The fisher cats are actually more aggressive than coyotes and have a creepy howl. We can't do much about either because of environment laws...or until God forbid a child is attacked. It is only a matter of time. I'd love to live in Salem, as its such a cute town...but it must be filled with demons...especially throughout October.

Interesting idea MS7 on archery, although I probably won't have time to pursue it. A mass kit too...never thought of that!

I realize I'm backtracking on this discussion a bit, but whenever a thread brings up the topic of preparation, I think of the Book of Proverbs. It is so practical with many nuggets of wisdom when considering the days ahead !

    The call to trust:
3: 5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Everything we possess and everything we need, no matter the circumstances, comes from our loving Father. The whole ball of wax starts and finishes with God. I need to trust more!

Then there is the call to be realists:
22:3 A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.

The Lord would have us prepare both spiritually and materially. But this would not simply be for ourselves, but for the sake of others. Why?

    The call to generosity:
11:24 One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

21:13 He who closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself cry out and not be heard.

This past weekend my family put two bushels of apples through the food mill and canners, resulting in 35 quarts of applesauce. However, if there was any societal breakdown and people came knocking at our door, those jars would not last long. But what an opportunity to witness and to share! I want to be like the widow and son who shared their last bit of oil and flour with Elijah!

1Kings 17:8 Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying,"Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you."So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, "Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink."And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, "Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand." So she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die." And Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. For thus says the LORD God of Israel: "The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth."' So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke by Elijah.

I think of the Israelites when they were wandering in the desert and God fed them manner from Heaven. Apart from global collapse, when things get really heated up no one will be allowed to buy or sell anything unless they have the mark of the beast. Now...

The poor cannot stock up, it is not possible
The rich whether they share or not can only stock up so much.
When the comet strikes it will affect crops and everything else.

Gods wrath puts man's wisdom to nothing.

I really believe in my heart of hearts that at that time we will see many miracles amongst ourselves, even cars driving on empty. Food never running out etc. We don't need this miracles now. Some of us may no longer be here. Then I think of the poor children of God in Africa, and wonder if there will be miracles? If we are to go, I hope that they go first, no more suffering for them.

The bible states that the living will long for the dead. Mother Mary herself tells us not to worry about the secrets, that those who pray have no fear. Now remember, this is the mother of a son who died on the Cross. She is telling us in the worst possible circumstances have no fear.

I don't see dying for my faith as some great deal. I used to, but here is the thing, we are all destined for Heaven, some of us may get there a bit quicker! :) I don't say this naively, I am not silly, I have faced a lot of things in my life time, but one thing that I know for sure. Our souls are eternal, and God will give us the strength to get through everything.

The one thing that all can and must stock up on is prayer.

    Isaiah 65:11- 14

But you who have abandoned Yahweh,
    and forgotten my holy mountain,
who lay the table for Gad,
who fill a cup for Meni.
I commit you to the sword,
all of you to fall to the slaughter.
For I called and you would not answer,
I spoke and you would not listen.
You did what I consider evil
you chose to do what displeases me.
    Therefore, thus speaks
    The Lord Yahweh:
You shall see my servants eat
    while you go hungry
You shall see my servants drink
    while you go thirsty.
You shall see my servants rejoice
while you are put to shame.
You shall hear my servants sing
    for joy of heart,
    while you will moan
    for sadness of heart;
you will wail for distress of spirit.

(Is this speaking of the warning and the tribulations) I haven't posted this to speak of punishments for others, but to see how the Lord will provide for us. :)
