The country’s incredible heat index, which includes factors such as humidity, was just 7 degrees shy of the highest ever recorded, officials said. It’s a far cry from what residents in the Big Apple will be experiencing through the early part of this week, as temperatures are expected to run in the upper 80s and low 90s.

We have had pretty much a storm in the west of Ireland the last day. A falling tree broke the phone line into my parents house. It has been really cold tonight and I have been putting the odd fire down lately. This is what we get for turning our backs on God.
