He told a story about many years ago in Rome about folks slamming doors right in his face as soon as they saw him coming. It's amazing they didn't kill him.
This is --as usual with Fr Hardon--amazing!!! So much to digest. I am asking him to pray for all of us. The quote he cites from Blessed Cardinal Newman is chillingly prophetic.
Yes. This requires reparation on a big scale. But i don't think we will see it from the Vatican. Up to us. Our Lady's little ragtag army. (The "deplorables") I truly wish I could fast. I hate that I give in to food. But I am trying to get Holy Hours done.
I’m weak in that area as well, but I have issues with drops in blood sugar. Then again, I’m not known for my virtuous choices all the time. Truth be told.
yes I have blood sugar issues too--so food is not my best fasting choice. But I could give up my morning coffee except I never do. Sigh.
Well, I used to think that way, before we moved north. With Grandma Ellie's relentless rhubarb patch growing up each year, I've learned two things: 1) Eat it or else, and 2) Eat it, period! It's grown on me. I actually like it now. What would life be like without rhubarb pie! I'm trying to spiritualize rhubarb, but I can't. Knowing the Lord's sense of humor, my mansion up yonder will probably have the largest rhubarb patch ever! Don't fear, HH, everything in heaven will taste wonderful, even rhubarb! Ps 144:13 ...may our garners be full, providing all manner of store; may our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields!
yes, I come agree...satan mockery! But no worries...Our Lady will crush his ugly head! The triumph of the Immaculate heart of Mary!
