My Spiritual Director did an exorcism one time. It was a young drug dealer one of two young men who had sold their souls to the devil. In return he had offered them protection for their drug dealing operation. But the priest made one comment about this is true. Why would anyone think that the devil would keep his word since he was a liar from the beginning ? Then he laughed. It is quite true. There is a kind of bizarre madness about it all. It is not logical.
One thing strikes me about Jesus when He talks about or encounters demons. He treats and talks about them as real beings.
Praying now. I see a local Archbishop went out and prayed for protection. I just think that is wonderful . I did not think there were any Bishops left with it in them. That storm has a really, really strange name! https://www.fox10tv.com/2026/10/08/...-over-mobile-bay-hurricane-isaias-approaches/
I think some of them do these things to annoy people. Their unbelief blinds them from the reality that they are shooting themselves in both feet. We believers might be shocked, but we can discuss it among ourselves and we can pray. They aren’t upsetting us as much as they think, but they’re really playing with fire for themselves.
Just saw news of a massive earthquake off coast of Panama. 7.6! I think its in a more rural area of the country and I hope it will not cause much damage. It certainly is a sign that a Cat 3 hurricane and 7.6 EQ hit on same day. https://www.foxnews.com/world/massi...fficials-investigate-potential-tsunami-threat
Watching BBC right now-thanks to the wife, I only watch hurling on TV-unsurprisingly, on what is seemingly a ‘humorous’ programme, it was laden with the most unconvincing anti-Russian propaganda. Would I cry if an Oreshnik went astray and landed on BBC HQ? Can’t say I would, for sure. In the meantime, the missus has changed over to a programme featuring pigs and Frisian cows-reality, thank God!
That is funny in a dark way. It evokes images of death in the form of an accountant. And, it is true throughout the ages. Two things guaranteed in life, death and taxes, and I guess they are two sides of the same coin. But I think dragons eventually come to the taxman too. That is, if they are up to no good
Jeremy Clarkson's pursuits on his farm is quite entertaining! E.g., Jeremy with his cows and the AI man. (God forbid any more oreshniks fly or go astray.)
A local bar was so confident their bartender was the strongest man around that they offered a standing €1,000 bet. The bartender would squeeze a lemon until every last drop of juice was in a glass, then hand the lemon over to a customer. Anyone who could squeeze out even one more drop would win the money. Over the years, many people tried, including weightlifters, dock workers, and bodybuilders, but nobody could do it. Everyone failed. One day, this skinny little man with thick glasses, wearing a suit walked in and said in a low squeaky voice, “I’d like to take on the bet.” The bar erupted. After the laughter died down, the bartender said, "Okay," grabbed a lemon, and squeezed it until the rind was completely dry. Then he handed it over to the little man. The bar fell silent as the man clenched the lemon in his fist… …and quite incredibly six more drops of lemon fell into the glass. The crowd erupted. The bartender congratulated him and handed over the €1,000 cash and asked, “What do you do for a living? Are you a lumberjack? A scaffolder or a professional weightlifter?” The man replied, “No, I work for the Revenue Commissioners.”
