Here's a very interesting video from John Campbell. A report in the British Medical Journal prompted him to make the video. It turns out that many of the publications about the Coronavirus, even reports in the most reputable journals, have been less than top quality.

Of 2,181 publications, only 3.7% were peer reviewed primary research.

In fairness to Dr. Campbell he acknowledges that he has accepted the prestige of academic journals but he concludes by saying that they appear to be "open to compromise" at the moment.

    Aha!
I've watched his videos pretty consistently since Feb. He is an honest man. Refreshing and rare.

I, too, have watched his videos consistently since they were first linked on the forum. I do believe he is honest but I began to have reservations about his judgement when I got the impression that he was making excuses for the WHO. I suppose that he is as susceptible to confirmation bias as anyone else. One of his more recent videos was a real turn-off for me. His guest was a former banker who works with some charity helping people in underdeveloped countries. According to the guest, whose name I forget, many people doing similar charitable work are also former bankers. Hearing the guest sing the praises of Melinda Gates raised red flags for me.

While Dr. Campbell did come clean, it wasn't until the very end of the video that he came straight out and said that he had put too much trust in the prestige of the academic journals. I wonder how reliable are his contacts in various parts of the world.

I’m keep on saying out loud....”you can’t make this stuff up!” I’ve read books that are boring compared to this new reality. At least with a book, you can close it. Scary part is its “reality” and we don’t know what will happen in the next chapter! But! With Christ as the Alpha and Omega, we know how the story ends! Just wish we could skip a few chapters! Lol.

The post covid 19 Catholic world discussed by Dr Taylor Marshall in this video is what I have been mainly worried about.

I can't express how hurt I feel; it's like having been held prisoner for months in a dark room and finally when you are liberated, the outside landscape has totally changed, its barren and dead and ravaged, in fact all you know is gone, you've somehow arrived on a different planet.

Hmmm. Yes. I actually stopped watching him the last three weeks or so. Just had enough doom and gloom. As you say he is susceptible to confirmation bias or as I sometimes put it--he really wants to sit at the "cool" kids' lunch table.

Yes Caroline. I know. I think it is one step deeper into the Passion of our beloved Church but there will be a glorious resurrection. We have Our Lady's promise. I dont know if I'll be here to see it--im not young--but I know she will see to it.

I feel something similar, Josephite. Before these last three months, I would attend Holy Mass frequently, four or five days a week. It was normal, precious but normal.

Unlike most Catholics, I have had the privilege of going to Holy Mass five times since things shut down. Now, I have this painful inkling as if my old normal will never return. Every time I will worship at Holy Mass, there will be this question mark; how long will the Holy Mass remain available this time?

Will this shadow of doubt always remain?:cautious::unsure:

At least now, moving forward, there will be no chance to take Holy Mass for granted!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Just an observation. Since the protests began, the voices who were on the news for weeks repeatedly warning us to comply with 'social distancing', and mask wearing are now silent.

  15. Well now it appears that the "tack on" to the orchestrated terrorist riots, which themselves arrived after the COVID "terror" was leveling off, will be to force the public back into lockup due to all of the "unmasked" masses within the mobs of the riots, having to be quarantined (already being proposed) and no one of these masses able to be certain of whom they have been in contact. All of this terror is meant to justify the goal of frauding the vote for the coming election through ordered mail in voting. Any kind of lock down of the public will fulfill this. The target always has been the man who appeared on the scene, never supposed to win the Presidency, whose mission it is is to expose the evil systems, drain the swamp, and name names of real criminals. "They" either keep power by whatever means or go to jail.

Please God, let justice prevail and let the evil be exposed. May the Lord steer POTUS's thoughts away from this solution.

I think they might get some push back on this. People want to go back to normal, even if it is almost normal.

This article supports what you are saying ETA.

Fauci: Meetings with Trump have dramatically decreased

"We used to have task force meetings every single day, including Saturday and Sunday, and about 75 percent of the time after the task force meeting we’d meet with the president. So I was meeting with him four times a week back, a month or so ago,” Fauci said in an interview with STAT News published Monday.

“But as you probably noticed, that the task force meetings have not occurred as often lately. And certainly my meetings with the president have been dramatically decreased,” he added.

When asked whether the president has frequently discussed work on a coronavirus vaccine with him, Fauci bluntly responded, “No.”

The Lancet casts doubt over hydroxychloroquine study
by Paul Ricard, Kelly MacNamara | https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-06-lancet-hydroxychloroquine.html
    upload_2020-6-3_11-2-22.png
Both hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine can produce potentially serious side effects, particularly heart arrhythmia

The Lancet has issued an "expression of concern" over a large-scale study of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine it published that led to the World Health Organization suspending clinical trials of the anti-viral drugs as a potential treatment for COVID-19.

In a statement, the medical journal acknowledged "important" questions over the research, after dozens of scientists issued an open letter last week raising concerns about its methodology and transparency around the data, which was provided by the firm Surgisphere.

"Although an independent audit of the provenance and validity of the data has been commissioned by the authors not affiliated with Surgisphere and is ongoing, with results expected very shortly, we are issuing an Expression of Concern to alert readers to the fact that serious scientific questions have been brought to our attention," The Lancet said Tuesday.

While an expression of concern is not as severe as a journal withdrawing a published study, it signifies that the research is potentially problematic.

The observational study looked at records for 96,000 patients and concluded that treatment with hydroxychloroquine, which is normally used to treat arthritis, and chloroquine, an anti-malarial, showed no benefit and even increased the likelihood of patients dying in hospital.

Its publication last month triggered the WHO to announce it was pausing clinical trials of the drugs.

France was among the countries to also halt COVID-19 treatment with hydroxychloroquine.

It has whipped up fresh controversy over hydroxychloroquine, which has been endorsed by public figures including US President Donald Trump despite concerns over its side effects and a lack of evidence that it is effective.

    'Serious reflection'

The study's authors, led by Mandeep Mehra of the Brigham and Women's Hospital in the US, looked at data from hundreds of hospitals between December and April and compared those who received treatment with a control group.

It followed numerous smaller studies that suggested hydroxychloroquine is ineffective in treating COVID-19 and might even be more dangerous than doing nothing.

But in an open letter last week, a group of scientists raised "both methodological and data integrity concerns" about it.

These included a lack of information about the countries and hospitals that contributed to the data provided by Chicago-based healthcare data analytics firm Surgisphere.

While The Lancet corrected a discrepancy in data from Australia, the authors said they stood by their findings and announced an independent review.

But concerns over the underlying data continued, and this week the New England Journal of Medicine also issued an expression of concern over another study using the Surgisphere database that looked at cardiovascular drugs and COVID-19.

Among the most outspoken critics of The Lancet study has been Marseille-based professor Didier Raoult, whose own work has been at the forefront of promoting hydroxychloroquine and has also been subject to criticisms over methodology.

But other critics, like Francois Balloux of University College London, raised concerns over the way the study was conducted, even though they are sceptical the drugs themselves would work as a treatment for COVID-19.

Peter Horby, professor of emerging infectious diseases and global health at Oxford University said the controversy should spark "serious reflection" over the quality of the peer review process.

"Scientific publication must above all be rigorous and honest. In an emergency, these values are needed more than ever," he said.

He added, however, that decisions to halt trials on the basis of an observational study were "completely unjustified".

A spokesman for the WHO last week said a comprehensive review of the drugs was expected to reach a conclusion in mid-June.
