Neither are PRs as a whole except in the accepted follow-up to scripture as the Holy Spirit filling in the gaps that were unable to be, as yet, understood. So that would include such world recognized "events" w/ their own phenomena as in Fatima and others. People keep using the term, locutions or locutionist as if that sums up such phenomena, which obviously are a part of the whole but not the total of course when it comes to the whole of PRs. Locutionists experience other phenomena as well that can add to the inexplicable inner communications. All of it has been an acceptable part of Catholic tradition. How else does one ply the other dimension via only defective human understanding? St. Paul is a great example in what took place in his own conversion that took place within him, and later experiencing being taken bodily to that other higher supernatural dimension!! And that is what enabled him to preach the fact of living "there" while still living in this world.......to live now AS IF one is already there!
Earth, I "think" I understand you. But, even private revelations like Fatima and Divine Mercy, are not part of the "deposit" of faith. People don't have to believe them to be Catholic/to be saved. St. Paul wrote about his being out of body, that is in the Bible, so Catholics must believe that.
That's what I said. That's why I can't understand those who themselves want to treat PRs AS IF they should be compared to dogma or doctrine. There is much leeway given to PRs. St. Paul's experience is there for a purpose.....not to stand alone. It would be a guide or permission for acceptance for such possibilities to occur w/later individuals who live outside the time element of the written Word. Scripture scholars delve into the deeper repercussions of that Word, which is Christ Who has no limitations in time or history. The "deposit" also has to be fully taught. And Paul's experience wasn't understood at his time either....he didn't even fully understand it himself but he was effected by it. But it is an example within scripture of how such experiences can occur and then when they occur on into history they can be more fully explored and accepted as one of the ways that God can act w/ His faithful as demonstrated in scripture. St. Joseph of Cupertino was completely surrendered to whatever God would do with him so when he entered holy places, his humble acceptance of the Holy Spirit took him up to ceilings of Churches, etc. It is said that when he attempted to place some material thing between him and the Spirit, like a squirrel on his shoulder, so as not to draw more attention to himself, it just went up with him! I don't think that was in scripture either! People who are open completely to God, living in his Will, are disposed to whatever occurs w/o fear. That's Augustinian thinking. The Protestants who are fully dedicated to solo scriptura trust only their own limited thinking about how that is to be interpreted since they have no authority....and they therefore are unable to accept the further teachings and developed doctrines of the Mother of God that came later w/ more teachings of what was limited within the word itself as far as the limited human understanding at the time. One can only imagine the complete reorientation of thinking by the Faithful when it was discovered that man/this world wasn't the center of the created universe! That too had to be reconciled with what was thought to be de rigueur in scripture.
It is true, "people don't have to believe them", however scripture warns its faithful 'do not despise prophecy' and that is the problem going on here on this forum. Why does the holy word of God teach the faithful to not despise prophecy? Could it be that both biblical history and the lived history of Judaism and Catholicism has been loaded with God's prophets to warn and prepare His people to events to prepare for? I believe it is and that is why the word of God warns Do not despise the words of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good... (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21)
Yes, and God even provided to us a Church, to discern whether visions and alleged messengers were "worthy of belief." The Church, itself, does this, by using bishops! That, is how things are to work. "Messengers" are tested by bishop/those appointed to act as bishop's representatives. Not by people who set themselves forward as experts... but those selected, according to Church rules.
I just don't get this back and forth regarding Fr. Michel Rodrigue. Some people here remind me of Naman in 2 Kings: …So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stood at the door of Elisha’s house. 10Then Elisha sent him a messenger, who said, “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored, and you will be clean.” 11But Naaman went away angry, saying, “I thought that he would surely come out, stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the spot to cure my leprosy.…". Fr Michel is saying that something bad will happen in the fall and to stock up on 3 months supply of food and water. Sounds simple enough to me (financial restraints aside for some). Best case, he is right and we are prepared to be able to feed our families. Worst case, he is a fake, and we get to eat our supplies over the winter, saving money not having to purchase as many groceries during the winter months. Folks, we only have a few months to know either way. So, be Naaman and get upset, or listen to his servant who suggested that Naaman do what the alleged prophet said to do. You choose. But to condemn Fr Michel before all the data is in is absurb to me!
I just came across the following on the CountdowntotheKingdom site: https://www.countdowntothekingdom.com/messages/ I agree that it is better to be prepared, most of us believe that we are the verge of many prophecies coming to fruition. Please keep praying the Rosary and include this priest in your prayers. + Edited to add: Here is the live link from the"here" in the screen shot above for better access, https://www.countdowntothekingdom.com/true-and-false-statements-regarding-fr-michel-rodrigue/ . This link provides "True and False Statements Regarding Fr. Michel Rodrigue". I still would prefer to see a list of all of Father Michel's visions/locutions and when they occurred. I believe that if a list like this was provided from the opening of the CountdowntotheKingdom site a lot of the confusion would have been avoided.
Absolutely right Carol55. I love this new website and check it out daily. I have come to trust Mark Mallett over the past decade that I have followed him, and I am not about to discount his discernment at a time when, as you say, most of us believe that we are the verge of many prophecies coming to fruition. I have read Christine Watkin's new book on The Warning and love it. I truly believe Our Lord is using these 4 people hosting this new website to get the message out to those willing to listen and discern. As always, discern and pray and the Rosary is the most important prayer for these times. God Bless!
To be clear, I don't know all of what Father Michel Rodrigue believes he was told by God and imho after what has occurred since President Trump has been elected I think that most people here would agree that something is very likely to happen before November in an attempt to prevent Trump from being re-elected. If Biden were to be elected he would more than likely just be a pawn for China and the world would be on the verge of a truly dire situation. I simply don't see that there is much to be gained by the members of this forum continuing to go and back forth about the alleged messages of Father Michel when we all should be spending our time on far more pressing things like prayer and preparing and spending time with our loved ones (if possible). I also realize that this is one of the things that is done on MOG, the discernment of alleged seers but again time may be short for prayer and preparations. In addition, I think that those on both sides of this discernment process have made some good points and I am almost certain that we will never be certain about these things. I really like what member Shae posted today from Desmond Birch it is very good advice for all of us. If you haven't read it yet, I believe that you should. + https://motheofgod.com/threads/has-the-lesser-tribulation-begun-in-2020.14816/page-4#post-286708
By the way, why would Fr. Michel suggest to have a food storage good for 3 months only? Why did he not go for 6 months or 1 year?
Excellent advice, Carol. It is time to pray, fast, and prepare. Thank you for sharing Shae's message from Desmond Birch, how insightful it is. I totally agree with him, you can't run away from what God wants you to experience, it is futile.
Thankyou for taking time to answer my questions. How do you know you 'when God speaks' you are not being deceived?
if you are sincere look for that part of your soul where the devil has no access and not even your guardian angel, and no other spirit (it helps saying a complete twenty-decade rosary in front of the Blessed Sacrament before Mass, eating and drinking the body of Christ at Mass, and after Mass an hour of adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament and being persistent and patient) when you go deep there, you will have the answer for yourself
In Sinu Jesu – Renewal of the Church The book, In Sinu Jesu: When Heart Speaks to Heart—The Journal of a Priest at Prayer, contains the interior locutions received by an anonymous Benedictine monk beginning in the year 2007, and is considered authentic by the monk’s spiritual director. It contains both an Imprimatur and a Nihil Obstat and is strongly endorsed by Cardinal Raymond Burke. These locutions have furthermore generated abundant fruit on the Church, drawing countless souls closer to Our Lord in the Eucharist and inspiring priests to holiness and union with Him. In this amazing book, Jesus tells the priest-monk: I am about to sanctify My priests by a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon them. They will be sanctified as were My Apostles on the morning of Pentecost. Their hearts will be set ablaze with the divine fire of charity and their zeal will know no bounds. They will assemble around My Immaculate Mother, who will instruct them and, by her all-powerful intercession, obtain for them all the charisms necessary to prepare the world—this sleeping world—for My return in glory. I tell you this not to alarm you or to frighten anyone, but to give you cause for an immense hope and for pure spiritual joy. The renewal of My priests will be the beginning of the renewal of My Church, but it must begin as it did at Pentecost, with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the men whom I have chosen to be My other selves in the world, to make present My Sacrifice and to apply My Blood to the souls of poor sinners in need of forgiveness and healing… The attack on My priesthood that appears to be spreading and growing is, in fact, in its final stages. It is a satanic and diabolical onslaught against My Bride the Church, an attempt to destroy her by attacking the most wounded of her ministers in their carnal weaknesses; but I will undo the destruction they have wrought and I will cause My priests and My Spouse the Church to recover a glorious holiness that will confound My enemies and be the beginning of a new era of saints, of martyrs, and of prophets. This springtime of holiness in My priests and in My Church was obtained by the intercession of My sweet Mother’s Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. She intercedes ceaselessly for her priest sons, and her intercession has obtained a victory over the powers of darkness that will confound unbelievers and bring joy to all My saints. -March 2, 2010. The day is coming, and it is not far off, when I will intervene to show My Face in a priesthood completely renewed and sanctified; when I will intervene to triumph in My Eucharistic Heart by the conquering power of sacrificial love alone; when I will intervene to defend the poor and vindicate the innocents whose blood has marked this nation and so many others as did the blood of Abel in the beginning. -November 12, 2008 While only excerpts of the above messages are included, the message from January 8, 2010, is especially powerful, and therefore is relayed here in full: This is the prayer I want you to say in all circumstances of life: My Jesus, only as Thou willest, when Thou willest, and in the way Thou willest. To Thee be all glory and thanksgiving, Who rulest all things mightily and sweetly, and Who fillest the earth with Thy manifold mercies. Amen. Pray in this way, and so you will allow Me to deploy My grace and manifest My munificence in all places and in all the circumstances of your life. I desire to heap blessings upon you. I ask only that you give Me the freedom to act upon you, and around you, and through you, as I will. If more souls would give Me this freedom to act as I will, My Church would begin to know the springtime of holiness that is My burning desire for her. These souls, by their entire submission to all the dispositions of My providence, will be the ones to usher in My kingdom of peace and holiness on earth. Look at My most pure Mother; this was her way and this was her life— nothing but My will and the will of My Father, in complete submission to the Holy Spirit. Imitate her, and so will you too bring My presence into a world that waits for Me.
Indeed, and as always when something is true, you see it everywhere. I was over at Glenn's Garabandal thread, and he said something very similar about the virtue of obedience: https://motheofgod.com/threads/garabandal-info-answers.11105/page-141 Amen!
