It reminds me of the dream of St John Bosco, 'The Two Pillars' I think he was talking of our present days. He speaks of the different religions being like boats in a great War, many sink but all eventually gather to the one true Church. The two pillars are Our Blessed Lady and the Eucharist.

This is a source of great hope for the future.

It is easy to keep a moral compass when everyone agrees on the right. It is so difficult to maintain it when everyone else, including our own leaders have lost this.

I asked my mother one time why when she was young there was so little crime. She told me that the main reason was that whenever someone was caught doing something wrong the whole family was in disgrace. The fear of the disgrace was so strong it was a real source of fear. It is the other way round now. Those who do evil are often the most admired.

When I was young I remember my grandmother never had a lock on her front door. None would have dreamed of robbing her. In either case she had nothing to rob, she was so poor.

Now we have everything...and yet we have nothing.

    1 Timothy 1:19

…18Timothy, my child, I entrust you with this command in keeping with the previous prophecies about you, so that by them you may fight the good fight, 19holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and thereby shipwrecked their faith. 20Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.…

Yes, it seems it is completely opposite now.

Your stories always are a joy to read padraig. I can relate to many of them for even though we are an ocean apart many of these same ideals were once this way too here in America. My family too was poor and yet never locked their doors. There was just no need. Also, we were reminded many times how important it was to not disgrace our families name. This was an unwritten code for the poor I think because it was all we really had.

My neighbor woman reminds me of this. She takes in every stray person she can and offers them shelter. Asks nothing in return and has been taken advantage of so many times I can not count them all. She really is a Saint I think. I have never once heard her complain. She has so little and yet she offers it all for others.

Just putting this in there - I read somewhere that she may not actually be a baptised Catholic, even though she went to Catholic schools.

Yes! Spines are stiffening and The Folks are shouting: "I'm are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!!" ..... Let's all Raise Hell .... with The Lord's Guidance!!

    Sg, "I am".

I don't know much about the Invictus Games, they appear to be a good idea but "I am" is associated with God and Christ and imho I don't think that they should have used that logo.

CrewDog, Thank you for posting that article. I saw this story on the OAN news yesterday and I forgot to post about it. I am glad that they will be fighting this in court. In my opinion, it definitely impedes on our 1st amendment's religious freedom rights.

Padraig, Thank you for posting this. Do you believe that Saint John Bosco saw a vision of Vatican I and Vatican II since this vision was in 1862? I think that is probably the case. Therefore it gives us a sort of rough idea of when the rest of the vision will occur, correct? Saint Bosco explains what the ships represent but do you believe that the murder of a Pope is symbolic for something else? If it is not symbolic then it appears that a Pope will be murdered some time after Vatican II. It reminds me of Our Lady of Fatima's vision of the 3rd secret. I am also reminded of Our Lady of Garabandal because of the emphasis put on the Holy Eucharist.

Like Don and probably most, if not all, MOG members, I enjoy your stories also. You have a wealth of knowledge that you are always willing to share with us. TY.

Report: Meghan Markle to be baptized in Church of England
    https://aleteia.org/blogs/deacon-gr...n-markle-to-be-baptized-in-church-of-england/

After all the speculation, we have this:

Meghan Markle will be baptized into the Church of England to please the Queen, despite her Catholic schooling and ‘Jewish first wedding’.

Miss Markle, from Los Angeles, will be both baptised and confirmed as she prepares for her church wedding with Prince Harry, in May.

The bride-to-be is Christian, a member of the Protestant faith who went to a Catholic high school.

Her mother Doria Ragland is Protestant while her father Thomas Markle is Episcopalian.

However, her first husband, US TV producer Trevor Engelson, was Jewish and the couple tied the knot in a Bohemian ceremony at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The wedding lasted four days and in keeping with Jewish traditions, the couple were lifted on chairs as the guests danced in celebration at their reception.

I found an old post of mine which at the time I wondered if the two councils which Saint John Bosco spoke of could have been the 2 synods which Pope Francis held on the family, idk. This is the link that I was commenting on at the time in case anyone is interested in reviewing Saint Bosco's prophecies discussed in the video which Padraig posted, http://www.marys-touch.com/Saints/bosco.htm In this link they wonder if the councils mentioned are Vatican I and II.

In my old post I wondered about the fact that some prophecies state that we will be without a pontiff for awhile, now I wonder if those prophecies may refer to a period in which the Pope's chair at the Vatican is literally empty due to the prophesized unrest to occur in Rome/The Vatican itself. So, maybe these prophecies do refer to the same storm which Saint Bosco's vision points to but the new pope who is immediately elected will not be able to literally sit in the chair of Saint Peter in Rome for a time. I think some of you may not like the following prophecy much because it comes from Nostradamus but it is included in Culleton's book, "The Prophets and Our Times",

"The New Pope will be elected at this time-related to the Great Monarch. He will begin his rule at Avignon, the new capitol of France, and later be restored to Rome by the Great Monarch." http://ia800200.us.archive.org/2/items/TheProphetsAndOurTimes/TheProphetsAndOurTimes.pdf

Take it with a grain of salt if you wish but I think that the idea is interesting although the details may not be correct. I also thought back to the cornerstone of St. Peter's tomb which was placed in the new church in Fatima. I had thought that this request came from Our Lady but I think that it may have been Saint John Paul II's idea, http://www.unitypublishing.com/Newsletter/FatimaBasilica.htm. Of course, I am not certain what it all means.

I would be careful of slotting a lot of the prophesies into A Traditional narrative as far as Church Councils are concerned. It strikes me as a little too convenient and pointed.

But I think the Pope who falls is the Pope of Fatima who will be martyred fleeing from Rome; this is mentioned in several other well known Catholic Prophesies.

The Pillar of Our Lady I would guess are the last Marian Dogmas.

I am guessing that there will be an argument in the Church about the Eucharist, probably over the Real Presence.

Notice in the dream the ship of the Church is holed several times but is healed.

I think we are getting the holes at the moment.

No doubt in my mind this prophecy is unfolding now and will be fulfilled in the near future. When the vision and narrative came it seemed to indicate the "Church" being attacked from all sides. What does the ship or Church represent? It seems to me it is it's unchanging teachings and it's most sacred act, which is the Mass. This is being attacked from all sides today from the very top down. Not only from its enemies, which it has always had, but from its own members.

It is taking on water today and is being rocked terribly, but it is not near its end of assault. It will seem like it has been defeated before it is restored via the Warning. It will go through horrible times ahead. Many will claim it has been defeated, but God will not permit it to be. I think this is where Pope Benedict prophecies come in and the Church will become very small, but very holy to prepare for the Antichrist.

Spot on Carol. We see all this symbolism around us, the Church is full of it as well which I love. However, when I see someone using symbolism which clearly applies to that which is sacred it very much peaks my curiosity as to why such symbolism was chosen. I don't believe in coincidences no matter how seemingly innocent.

there is a very famous poem called,' Invictus'.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

But he refers to the games he founded, named after the poem

    Padraig,

Maybe that link that I provided to Saint John Bosco's prophecies is correct in their interpretation. Maybe Pope John Paul I is the Pope in his vision and his vision is different from the one at Fatima. Do you think that it is possible that there was foul play in the death of Pope John Paul I?

St. John Bosco explains his dream, "The enemy ships are persecutions..." . This does sound like what happened before and after Vatican I and II but it does not sound like an apostasy starting from the top. Persecutions can lead to apostasy but they are different.

I also believe as you have stated that the Fatima vision is one of a Pope who will be martyred fleeing Rome. You are correct that we have several well known Catholic prophecies which state that there will be a physical attack on Rome & The Vatican and I don't believe that is what Saint John Bosco's vision is showing us since he explains that these enemy ships represent persecutions.

Thank you for pushing me to think this through a bit more, I definitely did not understand his vision a year ago the way that I believe that I do now. I also think that you are correct when you stated, "This is a source of great hope for the future.". Jesus and Mary are always available to support us through the tough times.

PS- I may have also gained some insight to what will happen if/when the Vatican is attacked, assuming that there is some truth to that other prophecy that I posted from Culleton's book.

Well from reading Pope John Paul 1's writings and from what I have read of him it may be possible. He was, it seems beginning and investigation of the Vatican's Finances so...yes it is very possible the poor man was murdered ,yes. He was very holy and honest so it would have made him a threat in the same was poor President Kennedy was a threat.

Sometimes I think it is better with prophesy as much to look for insights in prayer as through study. Simply to ask the Holy Spirit to show you. The Book of Revelation is a good example. I believe you could read it till you were blue in the face and get no further forward. However with prayer...

Yes other prophecies show Rome, the Vatican itself will be taken. The Pope will flee and be killed in flight. However as the dream indicates the Church will endure all these things and triumph.

Try praying about these things, ask God to show you...

When I was young we used to borrow lots and lots of books from the library. Once or twice I was so curious about how the story would turn out so I turned the pages to the end to find out. Of course I was not long finding out that this ruined the book, so I never did it again.

God is a bit like this with us , prophecy and the future. he won;t let us skip the pages to read the end before we're supposed to. We only get to read it page by page the same as anyone else, unless we're meant to. Which is why prophecy is told us the way it is. So that those who are supposed to skip the pages skip them and those who are meant to read things page by page do so.

I think this is the mistake that many people who write and study up on this make. They think they can skip the pages through their own efforts. Through being smarter than the rest of us, or studying harder at it. But I don't think that's the way God set things up.

The best way to understand a dream or vision is to dream it or see it yourself.,,and only God can do this. Only God can skip pages.

We can't. We would ruin the story if we did. For ourselves and for others.

But I do think as we turn the pages, page by page the ending does seem clearer and the clues we are given make more sense. But we none of see any further than we are meat to. Than is good for us to know at that particular chapter of our lives...and the Chapter of the World.
