Jeanne, I don't know what is right but here is my gut reaction. No, because if a person from another faith realizes so strongly that they need regular access to the sacraments the Church provides then they should become members. For people in RCIA who are not members of the Church officially yet I could see an exception because they want to join, but the Church has decided they must follow a "program" first.
I know but there is always a risk with Morphine especially with the high doses given to relieve pain at the end of life. My point is that the intention is not to kill. But the danger is still present. Just so with my friend (see above) and Merino. Merino alters hormonal production so the thickened mucous acts as a barrier to sperm reaching the tubes and thus preventing fertilisation. There is a rsk that sometimes the sperm will get through and implantation is prevented. This is not the intention but the risk. I am not saying it is justified or right to take this risk. Similarly with the pill, it prevents conditions for fertilisation but sometimes this purpose can fail and then it prevents continuance of the pregnancy or implantation because of the hostile environment it produces. This is not the intention but the risk is still there. Its not a justiable risk in my view. So abortifacient contraceptives do not always abort but they always have the potential to abort. They contravene Church laws on contraception and abortion.

99.999% of Catholics would be totally unaware of this and find it incomprehensible. That is why simple obedience is so important for salvation and why the church has such a huge responsibility to ensure orthodoxy.

I dont think you read my question. I asked if she had a hysterectomy would you expect her to refrain from sex because the act would not then open to life. The Church teaches that intercourse should always be open to the possibility of procreation.

Yes I had in good conscience point this out to my local 'Christian'chemist who sadly continues to dispense the contraceptive pill and the morning after pill. This stand of course threatens my own business in a small community. But it's worth it and so far my clinic is still full each day. GOD IS GOOD.
LM , my point was basically if a layperson votes pro abortion they risk excommunication from the Catholic Church . It does not have to be pronounced publicly by the Church .The CCC tells us we don't need a Pope to say were Excommunicated
