Look at this new statue that was recently unveiled in Boston in the oldest park in the USA to celebrate Martin Luther King Junior. It shows to me all that is wrong in the world. The confusion, the nonsense, the lack of purpose and meaning. Depressing and demoralising.
Truly hideous. I think it is a statue to symbolize Martin Luther King and his wife hugging after he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Just ghastly.
I remember reading the goals of the communist manifesto ...one of the many tenets of it was to destroy the art of the West. Including the promotion of meaningless, pointless public art to include statues and memorials etc. Course, they sought also to control the education system. Take control of the media. Promote promiscuity, abortion, pornography, women's rights, homosexuality, and more... All of which they have succeeded in doing. What was that Our Lady said, "when communism comes again..." Well, as far as I can see, its here!
Someone said that Dr Martin Luther King always saw people as people, as individuals. Never as groups. Communists are always seeing not individuals but groups. Perhaps this is why the artwork is distorted? Perhaps because the Artist saw not Luther King as an individual but as part of the Black Race. Part of a Group? I was always very, very proud of the part so many priests and nuns took in the American Civil Rights Movement. Wonderful. But I don't think this gets enough recognition. I have to acknowledge, many, many Jewish folk were utterly wonderful too.
That statue is such a shame. I would love to see a full statue of MLK and his truly beautiful wife hugging each other. There is something diabolical about removing people's faces and only featuring confusing body parts. The face and eyes bear most fully the image of God.
It looks like a centipede, with hands for legs. Demonic. Anyway it is plagiarised from another statue which is even worse. So it isn't even original.
Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies; 34 who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us? 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That monstrosity of a statue will crumble soon enough. But concerning all of our loved ones: What parent who loves Christ first and family second, can not pray confidently in union with Our Lady before the Throne of God? Is God weak? Is God deaf? Can the Lord not move mountains? Can He not touch the hearts of loved ones? If we live the obedience of faith, then God will hear our humble prayers. Let us trust the Love and Omnipotence of Jesus Christ. I have a daughter with a young family who is a juvenile diabetic. When things crash it would seem that sources of insulin would dry up. My love for Therese is deep, but imperfect. God's love for her is fathomless. Who can care for her better than He? What mother is more zealous in her love than Mary? What ultimately matters is not this life but to live in God's presence forever. That is God's ultimate gift and our ultimate desire for all we love. May I never fail to leave all things and all persons in His Merciful Hands!
MSM in Boston has been praising this atrocity all weekend. This is not art, it is gross and obscene. Many are outraged. They should toss it into the Charles river.
