I actually thought he had a sweet smile when he first appeared. And I thought to myself " just like John Paul I..." and then immediately shut it down. Prayers for his protection. I very much hope that he stays safe.
"Social Action", as prescribed by Pope Leo XIII, surely the greatest Pope not yet deemed a saint, is social teaching the Catholic Way, nothing to do with socialism or post-modern 'social justice'. If the world followed it, it would be the best possible one this side of Heaven. I hope the first act of Pope Leo XIV is to deem Leo XIII a saint, and also a Doctor of the Church.
There is so much disinformation, misinformation and intrigue about that we need to be prudent. It is said that James Martin wanted him to be pope, but maybe Martin said this, not to support him, but to damage him? Here, we prudently took our time to decide on Pope Francis, and there were far more alarm bells ringing, but people are already condemning a Pope who has done nothing wrong, yet. I think this is an understandable, if ill-judged, reaction to the scandal and distrust induced by the Bergoglian dysfunctional papacy, in his own words 'a mess'.
Yes I hope people never judge me in minutes when they first meet me and I hope God grants me the grace never to judge other people so quickly. But in the case of a Pope who is after all our Spiritual Father surely our love and veneration would cause us to take great pause. But to attack him in minutes?..and in public? Over lack of support for Trump of all things? Well no. It's plainly just wrong. I hope John Henry takes pause and apologises and does a quick reverse course. I always liked him. But he was just plain plumb wrong in this. Too quick on the hoof. Far, far, far too quick on the hoof. He needed to give time, at least a couple of years, not a couple of minutes before reaching for a six gun.. May God forgive him. I don't know what he was thinking, poor man. But he needs to set the record straight. Prayers for John Henry. But he needs to sort himself out.
I'm not upset in the slightest if he dislikes Donald Trump. It is becoming increasingly obvious that Donald Trump is only the Israeli-appointed Zionist Governer of the United States, overseeing, protecting and provisioning the renewed and more violent genocide of the Palestinians of Gaza. I'll follow the Vicar of Christ before this deceptive prince of this world, thank you very much (it was different with Bergoglio, who refuted this title, and left one in grave doubt as to whom he was representing-and he still got a lot right with the Gaza issue).
There is certainly something to do with Saint Michael the Arcangel in all this. Defender of the Church. There have been so very many signs that this is so.
He has. He did not look well in the video either the poor man. He reminded me of poor Michael Voris. Very, very agitated and excited. Loosing the plot.
I just watched a clip of media interviewing Pope Leo's brother in Chicago today. His brother says that when Robert was in Kindergarten or 1st grade, he ( Robert ) knew he was going to be a Priest! And that 2 different neighbor ladies at that time, who knew him, pronounced that he would be the first American Pope. When he was 5 years old !
I understand that Bishop Sheen thought very highly of Leo XIII’s Rerum Novarum Encylical. He apparently references it in many talks.
https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...vs-first-speech-peace-be-with-you-2025-05-08/ "Peace be with all of you! Dearest brothers and sisters, this is the first greeting of the Risen Christ, the good shepherd who gave his life for God's flock. I too would like this greeting of peace to enter your heart, to reach your families, to all people, wherever they are, to all peoples, to the whole earth. Peace be with you! This is the peace of the Risen Christ, an unarmed and disarming peace, humble and persevering. It comes from God, God who loves us all unconditionally. We still have in our ears that weak but always courageous voice of Pope Francis who blessed Rome! The pope who blessed Rome gave his blessing to the world, to the entire world, that Easter morning. Allow me to follow up on that same blessing: God cares for us, God loves all of us, and evil will not prevail! We are all in God's hands. Therefore, without fear, united hand in hand with God and among ourselves, let us move forward. We are disciples of Christ. Christ goes before us. The world needs His light. Humanity needs Him as the bridge to reach God and His love. Help us too, then help each other to build bridges - with dialogue, with encounter, uniting all of us to be one people always in peace. Thank you, Pope Francis! I also want to thank all the fellow cardinals who chose me to be the Successor of Peter and to walk with you, as a united Church always seeking peace, justice - always trying to work as men and women faithful to Jesus Christ, without fear, to proclaim the Gospel, to be missionaries. I am a son of Saint Augustine, (an) Augustinian, who said: "With you I am a Christian and for you a bishop." In this sense, we can all walk together towards that homeland that God has prepared for us. To the Church of Rome, a special greeting! We must seek together how to be a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges (and) dialogue, always open to receive (people), like this square, with open arms - everyone, all those who need our charity, our presence, dialogue and love. (Switching into Spanish) And if you allow me also, a word, a greeting to all those, and particularly to my beloved diocese of Chiclayo, in Peru, where a faithful people have accompanied their bishop, have shared their faith, and have given so much, so much to continue being a faithful Church of Jesus Christ. (Switching back to Italian) To all of you, brothers and sisters of Rome, of Italy, of the whole world, we want to be a synodal Church, a Church that walks, a Church that always seeks peace, that always seeks charity, that always seeks to be close especially to those who suffer. Today is the day of the Supplication to Our Lady of Pompeii. Our Mother Mary always wants to walk with us, to stay close, to help us with her intercession and her love. So I would like to pray together with you. Let us pray together for this new mission, for the whole Church, for peace in the world, and let us ask for this special grace from Mary, our Mother."
Lots of buzz words however lots of signs! He is wearing papal garb and ended with a Hail Mary. I particularly like that he was elected on Our Lady of Pompeii which if you look into it the man who heard the voice of Our Lady was a repentant Satanic priest. Augustin was a huge convert attributed through his mother's tears and her feast day was just this past Sunday on the traditional calendar. I understand why all the leftist cardinals were smiling ear to ear, his track record doesn't seem the best and they probably think they have the cat in the bag but maybe through the prayers of the laity, through the rosary, our new Pope will take his responsibility seriously and be like the great convert, St. Augustin. As Padraig says, at least the man is Catholic. Let's just be happy for the basics after the confusion of these past years. Then there is this for humor: https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/latin-mass-celebrated-in-roman-basilica-where-francis-is-buried/
Pope Leo's grandmother, Hannah O'Keefe, was born in a little village called Cullen, North Cork and emigrated to the U.S in 1910 His parents were staunch Republicans and very active pro lifers. He was elected on the Feast Day of St Michael of Monte Gargano near where Padre Pio lived.
Apparently not, a tweet on that was revised and people say he doesn't have any Irish ancestry. I know people are having a go at John Henry Weston but we are at the stage in history that the odds of any world leader, whether it be in politics or religion, being anything other than a globalist is very low? With their intelligence agencies etc etc it would be very hard to resist their candidate for Pope? Anyway I hope for the best but starting with a bit of sceptism might not be all bad as an idea?
