Exactly Richard. The RNC is shot, they are just keeping Cruz and Kasich in to stop Trump. Potential sex scandals involving both Cruz and Kasich will not be covered until Trump is stopped. Charlie Johnston is spot on with his analysis of the political situation. One would say he is a prophet!

Thank you Richard for being so clear and honest. I am so tired of reading against Trump, if only those who don't get it would just wake up! As a conservative Republican I believe there is nobody else to vote for. How can anyone not see that? Its so frustrating to read from somebody who proclaims to be so religious go for Republicans that have no chance at all to beat a Democrat! Trump is the only one with that chance even though it's a slight one. He is ALL WE have! The blindness is so dangerous that I am convinced Charlie is right. My niece works for Trumps company in New York, let me tell you Beth, he is an amazing person! Not perfect, mind you, but neither was King David.

I don't think that the "lesser-of-two-evils" option has expired. Although some people on here for whom I have the highest respect have little hope for Trump and are probably right, if I had a vote I would chance it on him, even if only for his utter naivity on this abortion statement. I would be more fearful, based on the reaction, that America would fail Trump more than the opposite. Tactically, it fed him to the wolves, but would an utter cynic have dared make such a comment? When Donald Trump announced women should be punished for abortion, cui bono?

Oh for Pete's sakes this priest is just giving up. St Joan of Arc just doesn't mean much to him, let alone Pope John Paul II. Both these saints went against the odds and fought back. Joan was burned at the stake, and Communism came back to the world. The point here is we can't ever give up.

If I had a vote I might well do the same as you if for no other reason that it would send a message to the puppet masters that their game is up. There has to be some reason why both the Democrats and the Republicans are desperate to stop him getting the nomination. Could it be that he has a chance of beating Clinton, despite what the published polls are saying?

All the hysteria about Trump having his finger on the nuclear button is a joke. US foreign policy has been a disaster for years. How could Trump be any worse than "No Drama Obama" who has just warned the world that there's a danger of his JV team getting their hands on nuclear weapons?

Many conservatives are "conservative" in name only. They don't really care about social issues like abortion and same-sex marriage. All these phony conservatives care about is a continuation of the anti-American foreign policy, trade policy and immigration policy that they have worked so hard for since they hijacked the Republican Party as Reagan's Era was coming to an end. Trump's non-interventionist foreign policy and his protectionist trade policy is a direct threat to these Neocons. Trump is a direct, mortal threat to their power and their pocket books and this is why these phony conservatives would rather vote for Hillary than Trump: with Hillary they will get a continuation of the unjust wars for foreign interests, they will get a continuation of the corrupt trade deals, and they will get a continuation of the mass, illegal immigration. Make no mistake about it: if Hillary wins this country will take decades to recover.

A no-vote is a vote for Hillary. Hillary is an unrepentant pro-deather. No Catholic could ever vote for Hillary given her public position on abortion. To compare her to Trump is obscene.

Catholic Group Endorses Ted Cruz Over Donald Trump: He Has a “Consistent Pro-Life Record”

    Catholic Vote endorses Cruz!

But why endorse Cruz over Donald Trump? Burch tells LifeNews it has to do with the ability to win the general election — that Trump can’t beat Hillary Clinton in November:

Since the presidential race began over a year ago, many talented leaders have run the race. Of those that remain, we are convinced that Ted Cruz is far and away the best choice – and the only acceptable choice with a viable path both to win the Republican nomination this summer and the general election in November.

Ted Cruz has a consistent record of supporting pro-life causes, of supporting religious freedom, of supporting marriage, and, despite what the tabloids say, has by all trustworthy reports conducted himself as a good husband and father.

We knew at the outset of this process we could never support Hillary Clinton. It did not take us long to definitively conclude we could not support Donald Trump. The field is now clear enough for us to unambiguously support Ted Cruz.

The media wants you to believe that Donald Trump’s nomination is inevitable, but as usual, they’re wrong! In every state that has voted so far, Trump has failed to win a majority of votes. Trump has amassed a little more than 8 million votes so far. But almost 13 million votes have been cast for other candidates in the race – nearly 5 million more!

Historically, candidates who fail to achieve a majority of delegates going into a contested convention do not win the nomination.

Today we are proud to endorse Ted Cruz for President.

    View attachment 4696
    • Senator Cruz has consistently defended the First Amendment right to religious liberty. As Solicitor General of Texas, Ted Cruz argued in favor of a Ten Commandments display in court. The case eventually led to a Supreme Court victory for religious expression.
    • Cruz has promised to investigate Planned Parenthood and stop once and for all the taxpayer giveaway of hundreds of millions of dollars every year to the abortion giant.
    • Cruz has a plan to lower taxes for everyone, abolish the IRS, and repeal job-killing regulations that hurt workers and small businesses.
    • Cruz understands the qualities necessary for Supreme Court justices that will obey the Constitution.
    • Cruz has never wavered in his support of the rights of those working to create a marriage culture.
    • Cruz has fought Obamacare in the Senate and has promised to repeal it as President.
    • Cruz has a real plan to defeat ISIS – not just rhetoric – and has promised to protect Christians in the Middle East, without resorting to war crimes or torture.
And a final reason we’re endorsing Ted Cruz:

Unlike Donald Trump, Cruz can defeat Hillary Clinton and win!

Donald Trump’s poll numbers collapse as general election looms

While Trump was never popular outside of his loyal slice of GOP voters, a raft of new polls show his national position hitting new lows, including with groups that are supposed to form his base.

A collection of recent surveys by Real Clear Politics finds, on average, 30 percent of respondents hold a favorable view of Trump versus 63 percent who hold a negative one. Those numbers are roughly parallel to former President George W. Bush’s approval ratings during his final months in office, which set the stage for President Barack Obama’s landslide victory.

America’s widespread loathing for Trump puts further pressure on Republican delegates to deny him the nomination in July if he falls short of a majority, a move that would set off an ugly civil war — but one that some in the party believe would be necessary to stave off generational damage.

Trump’s worsening position comes after a tumultuous period in which he has faced widespread criticism within his party over his violent rhetoric and, more recently, his attack on Sen. Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi Cruz. The news has not improved much in recent days, which featured the arrest of Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandoski and Trump’s flip flop over “punishment” for women who terminate their pregnancy.

5 Reasons I Will Not Vote For Trump

    Opinion piece from Redstate:

Every Presidential election, people talk of the importance of that particular election. “This is one of the most important Presidential elections in our nation’s history!” Truth be told, I’ve voted in six presidential elections and they’re all important. The 2016 election in my view however, is different.

After eight years of President Obama, the last thing the country needs is four years (at least) of Hillary Clinton. Democrats have thankfully not served more than eight years since the FDR/Truman run and there’s no reason to break precedent.

President Obama has been dangerous because he is a partisan (not an ideologue which is actually a positive). He is driven wholly by politics, doing or not doing something because the other side hates it. Hillary on the other hand is more dangerous because she is nothing but an influence peddler. For all her talk about the “little person”, she and hubby Bill are all about influence, privilege and wealth. She sees the Clinton family as some sort of quasi-royalty and she’ll sell policy to the highest bidder in order to maintain that status.

For the record, I support Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)‘s (cue “RINO!”, “Establishment!”, “Gang of 8!” , “CAW! CAW!”) candidacy but I’ll crawl over glass to vote for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, etc. over Hillary. I’d even got to bat for Ben Carson. If it’s Kasich, I’d really have to be convinced.

But I will not vote for Donald Trump if he is the GOP nominee. In good conscience I will not do it and here are five reasons why:

    1. Trump is not a conservative. Hell, he’s barely a Republican. No conservative would support Trump’s vision of what eminent domain is. Seizing a person’s property for commercial development is awful and Trump sides with the liberal justices on the Supreme Court (He’s a fan of the Kelo decision). He’s been critical of taking away funding for Planned Parenthood despite his supposed conversion to being pro-life. He says Obamacare did not go far enough and supports single payer. He’s opposed to any reform of Medicare and Social Security despite both programs needing it desperately. For just these reasons alone, it’s ironic that any Trump supporter would call anybody else a “RINO.” Bill S. has more details on Trump’s liberalism.

    2. He’s lying to everybody on immigration. He’s not going to build his “big beautiful wall” and he’s not going to get Mexico pay for it. He’s not going to deport 11-12 million illegal immigrants. Aside from his name recognition and celebrity, this is the issue where he has some solid support, but in 2012 he was saying Mitt Romney(!) was “too mean” on the issue of immigration.

    3. He’s a crackpot. He’s a birther. He supports the completely unscientific theory that vaccines cause autism. He flirted with trutherism with respect to what President Bush did or did not know about the 9/11 attacks. He has thrown out the completely unsubstantiated claim he saw “thousands and thousands” of Muslims in Jersey City cheering the 9/11 attacks (and no, some woman calling into the Howard Stern show to say she saw it as well is not evidence). We don’t need (another) President spouting that kind of drivel.

    4. He has no class and he is no statesman. I know critics will write this off as him not being “politically correct.” But there is a line between being politically correct and being a boorish ass and Trump can’t navigate it. From making fun of Carly Fiorina’s face to his pathetic schoolyard-like bully mocking of a disabled reporter to his tantrums on Twitter about news stations or reporters “not being fair” to him (remember his hissy fit over Fox News?). It’s completely unbecoming for a man who wants to lead the free world. This is not ‘The Apprentice.’

    5. He will do long term damage to the GOP. In addition to getting clobbered in the general election, Republicans across the country will be hurt down ticket. He could very well cost the GOP control of the Senate and wouldn’t that be fun? Chuck Schumer as Majority Leader and Hillary Clinton as President? That will work out well.

After 2008 and 2012 when people were screaming their heads off about “No more RINO’s!”, the 2016 field was set up perfectly. Conservatives such as Rick Perry, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal were all waiting in the wings. It was a great field and I shudder to think of the possibility of handing it off to a poofy-headed charlatan who uses conservatism as nothing more than a stepping stone to power.

One last thing: Donald Trump is very well part of the damned “establishment” everybody hates. Just because Trump has never held elective office does not mean he’s out of touch with the political class. Bill and Hillary Clinton were at his wedding for crying out loud. He is a crony capitalist. He’s given a ton of money (mostly to Democrats) to politicians he sucks up to them like anybody else.

My hope is that like in 2003, when Democrats came to realize Howard Dean would get slaughtered in a race against President Bush, people will realize Trump will lose and lose big, thereby paving the way for a candidate who can actually win.

If not, Trump could swipe the nomination. But there’s no way I vote for that fraud.

Donald Trump Convincing Conservatives He’s Not a #RINO

If any normal candidate had supported the Clintons, partial-birth abortion, Harry Reid, gay marriage, Nancy Pelosi, universal health care, and dozens of other liberal causes, they'd be laughed off the Republican ticket. Donald Trump is no ordinary candidate.

    http://www.redstate.com/diary/jdruc...nald-trump-convincing-conservatives-hes-rino/

Donald Trump is conservative on immigration. On every other issue, he’s very clearly liberal. His views on affirmative action, the economy, Medicare, foreign policy, and infrastructure go against everything Republicans stand for. In other words, he’s the ultimate Republican In Name Only.

Cruz a natural born citizen, tosses eligibility suit

born citizen “includes any person who is a United States citizen from birth,” and ordered the state’s secretary of the commonwealth to keep Cruz’s name on the ballot.

Trump trying to win by default....very sad....very sad.

Your Trump admits it....make them big deals cause...yah need to be establishment to get er done :)

Trump: When I get to Washington, I’m Going to Become Part of the Establishment so I can Make Deals With Democrats (VIDEO)
    http://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf...establishment-can-make-deals-democrats-video/
Trump: And you know what, there’s a point at which, let’s get to be a little bit establishment, because we gotta get things done, folks, okay? Believe me, don’t worry, we’re gonna get such great deals, but at a certain point, you can’t be so strident, you can’t not get along, we gotta get along with people. You know in the old days, Ronald Reagan, and I remember it so vividly, I was a young guy, I helped Ronald Reagan, I really liked him… so what happens, Ronald Reagan would get along with (Democrat) Tip O’Neill, and they’d sit down, and they’d make great deals for everybody. That’s what the country’s about, isn’t it?
I mean, we can all be tough but at some point we gotta get our country back on track.
