NOTE THAT: The archbishop (Paglia) who is now at the helm of the Pontifical Academy for Life paid a homosexual artist to paint a blasphemous homoerotic mural in his cathedral church in 2007. The mural includes an image of the archbishop himself. The archbishop was also recently appointed by Pope Francis as president of the Pontifical Pope John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. Do we expect a resignation or dismissal from these important posts? I don't.
The below was in my MILINET Blog that I follow on a different subject but the Fertility Rates stated therein are germane to the above "Catholics" demanding lower Birth Rates. You will see that in the former Christendom birth rates are too low to sustain a population which leads to National Suicide. Exactly what we are seeing before our eyes especially in the EU .....USA coming on fast.... and The Catholic Church is pushing lower Birth Rates & more Islamic Immigration ... No ... Invasion! Check out the Birth Rates in Muslim Countries: "Resp "Feminism’s Dreadful Life Advice--HEATHER WILHELM http://www.nationalreview.com/artic...motherhood-comments-feminisms-bad-life-advice I stumbled on this some months back. It is long but it is the terrible cost of militant feminism. A new statistic created in the last few years by the United Nations reveals some startling and heretofore unforeseen consequences of the feminine quest for more positions of power including military positions. The statistic, called the Gender Inequality Index, seeks to measure female inequality based on reproductive health, empowerment, and the labor market. Ratings have been created for 186 countries. The lower the index the more equal women are. A comparison with the fertility index, that is the number of children born per woman, in the various countries shows something startling. In general the greater the degree of equality the lower the birth rate. A figure of 2.1 children per woman is needed to maintain a population. Above that the population will increase. Below that it will decline. In the twelve countries highest in gender equality the birth rate is not sufficient to maintain the population, except for France. In Germany, Slovenia, Switzerland and Italy it is so low that it would be almost impossible to increase or even stabilize the population. Inequality Country Rank Index Fertility Netherlands 1 0.045 1.78 Sweden 2 0.054 1.67 Denmark 3 0.054 1.75 Switzerland 4 0.057 1.47 Norway 5 0.065 1.77 Finland 6 0.075 1.73 Germany 7 0.075 1.41 Slovenia 8 0.080 1.31 France 9 0.083 2.08 Iceland 10 0.089 1.89 Italy 11 0.094 1.40 Belgium 12 0.098 1.65 With the exception of Australia and Canada the figure for the English speaking countries is more encouraging although in the U.K, France, and the United States the favorable fertility rate may be due to greater fertility among minorities. Australia 17 0.115 1.70 Canada 18 0.119 1.59 New Zealand 31 0.164 2.07 United Kingdom 34 0.205 2.60 United States 42 0.256 2.06 South Africa 90 0.164 2.28 And some of the countries with the least equality for women show the greatest potential for population growth: India 132 0.610 2.58 Saudi Arabia 145 0.682 2.26 Afghanistan 147 0.742 5.64 Yemen 148 0.747 4.45 The consequences of a low fertility rate, the decline in the population coupled with an increase in the percentage of the elderly, is well known and is becoming a serious problem in countries such as Italy. However, the other consequences of a low fertility rate is even more devastating. In those countries with a low fertility rate, or one just breaking even as in the U.S. the fertility rate among average women seeking positions of leadership is even lower. In the U.S. it is probably between 1.2 and 1.5. Given the tendency for women of above average to marry above average men and produce above average offspring the number of above average people would decline over time. Its a sort of demographic suicide. That’s a terrible price to pay for feminism. Pxxxxxxx" GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!
Yes, yet another of the gifts from Russia. It is certainly the gift that keeps on giving. Interestingly enough Russia now is pleading with it's mothers to have children even awarding them special medals for being Mothers of the nation. It seems they are trying to turn from their mistakes while the rest of the world tumbles headlong toward progress. What puzzles me is that Pope Francis on one hand decries the evils of capitalism run amuck. OK, I agree with him on this and believe that it is at the core of the issues we have in the US with companies leaving the US for overseas. If a company is run by someone who is not a Christian or is a Christian in name only they have no qualms with making profits their God. Why though aren't the leaders of the Church stating as much? It is after all the heart of the issue. Instead they give lengthy speeches about the evils of the system itself. I believe that materialism is at the heart of this issue with couples not wanting children yet our leaders then decries having too many kids. I pray for the Pope and all the leaders of the church daily. I hope that at some point they make their yes be yes and their no be no.
Careful what you wish for. The Pope just made it very clear that he wants us to have fewer children. Again. (How out of touch with reality can one be? Look at the fertility rate index below from Crewdog´s post above. And the Pope wants to reduce it further!!?? He doesn´t want to control population growth, he wants to depopulate the western world!): A figure of 2.1 children per woman is needed to maintain a population. Above that the population will increase. Below that it will decline. This solution to securing the world’s sustainability was presented by botanist and environmentalist Peter Raven during a press conference that concluded the “Biological Extinction” workshop that took place at the Vatican earlier this week. At this point I just stick my fingers in my ears and sing 'lalalalala' whenever I hear 'the Pope says'. It inevitably aggravates me.
You are preaching to the choir. Just because I said I agree with him in principle on one issue doesn't categorically mean I support his views on population control or anything else for that matter. LOL. Reading is fundamental.
Lesse... where did I hear this before?... Oh I remember: Communist China. Population controllers to Vatican: ‘Responsible parenthood’ has failed. Use ‘taxes and regulations’ to reduce population Biological Extinction Conference , Partha Dasgupta , Paul Ehrlich , Population Control ,Vatican March 2, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- Population controllers told the Vatican at a conference this week that the Catholic teaching of “responsible parenthood” in determining family size has “result[ed] in collective failure” in reducing the world’s population. They suggested that the only way to stop the exhaustion of “humanity’s natural capital” is by imposing a system of “taxes and regulations” that would help modify “social norms of behaviour.” This week’s Vatican symposium on Biological Extinction, sponsored by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences was a closed-door event. Speaking at the event were two controversial figures, Paul Ehrlich and Partha Dasgupta (read their paper here). Both are population control advocates who speak as enemies of the Catholic Church’s traditional teaching and morals. They also make the environmentalists’ agenda perfectly clear: They want population control and a general contraction of living standards in a more and more socialized world. Environmental Health News described their speech as a “moral revolution,” the very words used by the Vatican event’s sponsors in their presentation. In Pope Francis’ Laudato si’, the appeal for an “ecological conversion” is much the same. More here: https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/...can-responsible-parenthood-has-failed.-use-ta
Yes, I got that and I liked your post. I was refering to the bit "I hope that at some point they make their yes be yes and their no be no." In this case the Pope made it clear where he stands on that issue.
Gotcha. The reason I said that was because the sooner that happens the sooner that all this will come to fruition. Right now, with the refusal to answer or clarify these issues it leaves room for doubt in the minds of the laity and also the leadership to a certain degree at least. Plausible deniability of a sort. Soon enough that will cease and it will become crystallized even for those who don't have eyes to see.
Completely agree. 37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. (Matthew 5:37)
Some time in the future, a Pope or Council will have a very long list of names under the heading "Let him be anathema". The only good to be found in the current disaster is that they won't have a whole lot of trouble compiling the list because the culprits are so emboldened they are making no secret of their heretical beliefs. Some, if not most, of the ringleaders will likely be dead when the Church decides to get back to its role of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ rather the the anti-God gospel of population control. The God who said "go forth and multiply" is the same God who said "thou shalt not murder" and "thou shalt not commit adultery" and His divine Son who died on the cross to save us didn't give anyone the authority to replace "go forth and multiply" with "stop multiplying because I miscalculated when I made the world".
It's downright depressing. Watching this video of the discussions at the biodiversity conference, it's clear that the Vatican is being led and said by a mixture of atheists, agnostics and even a kind of paganism. Archbishop Sorondo is way out of his depth. The entire business reeks of condescending, racist imperialism dressed up as care for the earth and concern for the poor and the Vatican is up to its eyes in it. Erlich claims that humans are not rational and that 99% of humanity is ignorant and desperately in need of educating about what these people have decided is essential for the survival of the planet. He claims that Trump's electoral victory is a racist backlash for the US having had a black president. Dasgupta makes no bones about his reason for having anything to do with the Catholic Church: it will take too long for the education system to bring the masses around to their way of thinking and, anyway, people won't pay attention to scientists like Erhlich so they needed to draft in a religious moral authority. According to Raven, the Brexiteers are fascists (he didn't actually get to finish the word "fascists" and settled for "crazed nationalists" instead)- which means that the Catholic Church which always claimed to be non-partisan and above politics is lending moral authority to a man who holds in contempt and bad mouths over half the Brits who voted in the referendum. And it doesn't end with their derision for the masses who aren't buying their new world order. Heap, the guy from the British scientific/religious outfit at Cambridge University raised concerns about paternalism and pointed out to them that Africa is the most important and critical continent yet there were no Africans in attendance. Someone else corrected him by saying that there were two white Africans present! Archbishop Sorondo's biggest worry was that the Pope had put the moral authority of the Catholic Church behind climate change in Laudate Si and the expert on bioextinction maintained that climate change was only 10% of the problem. The Archbishop was getting the impression that the poor were the cause of the problem. (The real agenda was finally clicking with him but they soothed his ego with platitudes about greed and praise for the Pope). He was also concerned that they didn't have enough studies or solutions for Buenos Aires. It looks like Bishop Sorondo has been feeding the pope some kind of line that GM crops and birth control are essential to save the earth. Lifestock farming is also a no-no. Becoming vegans could be the next new Commanment (Dasgupta is Indian). Start watching the video at about the 30 minute mark to get a taste of what has been going on in our name and under the noses of our hierarchy. Raven believes that if people can make up things like the Golden Rule or the Ten Commandments, they should be able to do the same to save the environment. I would love to hear from anyone willing to tell me that St. Peter or any of his successors until now would have left unchallenged a statement that the ten Commandments were invented by man.
This fireside chat they are having should have been titled how to manipulate the faithful via the priesthood. Pray for our Sheppard's people!
Yes, that was the purpose of it. A maximum of two children per woman, especially in poor countries, appears to be the goal. One of the discussions, I think it was discussion video no. 10, focused especially on family sizes. It appears to have been the discussion on Bongaarts presentation. He's seriously into contraception and the usual population control sold as "women's health". The Archbishop seemed to be suggesting that education is the solution because educated women tend to have only one or two babies. Bongaarts quickly burst the Archbishop's bubble when the said that birth control is the solution. Archbishop Sorondo claimed that people misunderstand Church teaching about fecundity (reproducing). He quoted the first sentence of paragraph 2372 in the Catechism: "The state has a responsibility for its citizens' well-being. In this capacity it is legitimate for it to intervene to orient the demography of the population." He didn't go on to quote the rest of that paragraph: This can be done by means of objective and respectful information, but certainly not by authoritarian, coercive measures. the state may not legitimately usurp the initiative of spouses, who have the primary responsibility for the procreation and education of their children.161 It is not authorized to intervene in this area with means contrary to the moral law. I wouldn't be at all surprised to that paragraph reworded in the next revision of the Catechism. No change in doctrine, of course, just merciful pastoral practice. What did strike me as funny was Bongaarts telling the Archbishop that some European countries have started addressing their abysmally low reproduction levels by introducing child friendly legislation and welfare. According to him, the measure is achieving some success in countries like France and Germany. Sounds great but I wouldn't be expecting the policy to result in a whole lot of Josephs and Christinas . Asked whether China's relaxing the one child policy had seen a marked increase in their birth rate, he said no. What I gathered from him is that their real aim is to foster a culture of birth control, particularly in Africa, because he said that even if the couples wanting a small family the outlook of the people surrounding them can make them reluctant to limit the number of children they have (or words to that effect). One or two of the discussions were really quite interesting. For example, Heap (he's a Knight of the Realm but I can't remember his first name) from the British Science & Religion outfit had some informative things to say about solar energy and smart villages in Africa. The Brits, having learned from their imperialist mistakes, wouldn't be so stupid as to exclude Africans from a conference whose real focus was Africa. In a way, it makes sense that there were no indigenous sub-Saharan African Catholics at the conference because they don't look down their noses at families with more than two children and they might have made things awkward for the "superior intellects". Any Catholic who valued Church teaching and didn't come across as being ashamed of it or trying to hide it would have been a bonus. Overall, I got the distinct impression that the Vatican has hitched the Church's wagon to the Raven/Erhlich/Dasgupta population control star and the target is African babies. Our hierarchy are in need of prayers because deep down they probably mean well. We all surely could do better to help people in poor countries.
The mystery of iniquity is at the heart of it all. God will, for his own inscrutable purposes, allow evil to increase. Not because He desires evil: He does not. But because evil is intimately bound up with free will. God will not constrain our free will. Evil will be allowed to exert itself, to unwind itself. So that all will have no doubt about what it is they have chosen in a world "without" God. In its unwinding, evil reveals itself, unmasks itself and ultimately exhausts itself. Evil will in the final analysis be seen to be built on NOTHING. Evil will be seen to be built on a lie. Because a lie is nothing. A lie is simply an illusion. Falsity has no substance as it is founded on nothing, on a non-reality. God knows this and will and is permitting Satan to expose his ultimate emptiness. Our Lord told us all this. Satan does not stand in the truth. He does not stand in reality. His "reality" is simply a tissue of lies. Satan denies the reality that God is good and that God is love. The lie that Satan encouraged our first parents to believe is that God is not a loving Father but a cruel tyrant. Those who are blessed to know God, know that this is a lie. Satan will be utterly humiliated in the end because he will be exposed to all creation for what he is - nothing. His kingdom is nothing. It is divided and will ultimately collapse into nothing. So God in His wisdom will allow Satan to unmask Himself. Satan as from the beginning will prove to be his own undoing. It is a paradox. The more feverishly he works to build his kingdom of darkness, the closer he comes to finally losing everything, for all eternity, an eternity of never ending loss, never ending nothingness. We are witnessing and living in the unfolding of the mystery of iniquity. All we need do is remain in the truth of God. To stand firm in Him. To reject lies.
