Yes, Adoremus, I suppose I do come across as condescending. Thank you for reminding me because it's something I need to work on. Actually, I had already decided that it's time for me to take a break from the forum. You're wrong about my being knowledgeable. I'm far from it. What I have are Catholic instincts instilled in me since childhood. I reckon that I'm also a lot older than you, which doesn't make me wiser but it does give me the benefit of hindsight. Age and living the experience of a once Catholic country turning in my lifetime to becoming possibly amongst the most anti-Christian countries in the world has taught me to trust my Catholic instincts rather than suppressing them. No doubt your Catholic instincts are telling you that there's something wrong, and seeing it in the symbol. You could well be right but if you make a big deal out of that symbol and are proved wrong, you risk being dismissed as a kook. And I've given you one example of why your suspicions will be dismissed. Keep on trusting your Catholic instincts but steer clear of rabbit holes.
Children imitate what they see. The entertainment of children by figures such as Miley Cyrus and others is a great influence on some of these behaviors. Is it possible that those in charge of the magazine pic are unaware of the symbolic gesture of the all seeing eye, 666, illuminati? The celebrity's who promote this stuff sure as hell know what they are doing in their devilish rebellion! I personally don't think it was intentional on the part of the promotion on the magazine, but I do think there is an awful lack of education as regards true Catholic formation and the children are paying the price. Would not a child holding their hands in prayer had made a better image to promote the Catholic gathering? Or maybe it is rightly named the World meeting of families, where the word Catholic is left out?
Dolours, There are so many times you say what I am thinking and am not able to articulate, sometimes out of fear like yourself for the fear of offending God or maybe I don't have it quite right, but I always feel inspired by your posts because for the most part you are saying what needs to be said. We are all brothers and sisters regardless of whether we are totally right or wrong but mostly we are right about the wrong that is going on. This is a great place of support in these trying times, but it is always good to retreat. How many times was Our Lord misunderstood?
