    Yes. But sometimes they are called to open doorways by specific acts. The greatest such act was the assent of Mary at the Incarnation , the Annunciation. But this is often mirrored at mystical events like Fatima. The assent at Fatima would have been the Consecration of Russia. This specifically requested, 'All the Bishops of the World', take part. This request was not made lightly .

    This never happened.

    So we have Our Lady returning to the world at places such as Garabandal, Akita and Medugorje. These are merely continuations of Fatima because the Fatima request was never honoured.

    Psalm 95 Encounter With God

    Come, ring out our joy to the Lord;
    hail the rock who saves us.
    Let us come before him, giving thanks,
    with songs let us hail the Lord.

    A mighty God is the Lord,
    a great king above all gods.
    In his hands are the depths of the earth;
    the heights of the mountains are his.
    To him belongs the sea, for he made it
    and the dry land shaped by his hands.

    Come in; let us bow and bend low;
    let us kneel before the God who made us
    for he is our God and we
    the people who belong to his pasture,
    the flock that is led by his hand.

    O that today you would listen to his voice!
    “Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
    as on that day at Massah in the desert
    when your fathers put me to the test;
    when they tried me , though they saw my work.

    For forty years I was wearied of these people and I said:
    ‘Their hearts are astray, these people do not know my ways.’
    Then I took an oath in my anger:
    ‘Never shall they enter my rest.’ "

    My memory is sketchy. Did St. John Paul ask the Bishops of the world to join in the consecration? Did the Cardinals and Bishops in Italy, or at least in Rome's immediate vicinity, join with him? Or did he do it all alone? He looked kind of alone in the picture on that video.

    This wonderful movie is on you tube in two parts. If you have never watched it, please do. Bernadette was so humble ...I cry when I see her suffer. Her body is uncorrupt! She is just beautiful....even today.

    Honestly, I'm not sure...I just assumed that the bishops attended. Fr. Armorth said he organized it, so I would think it was his job to invite all of them to either attend or to participate in prayer from their own diocese if unable to be present?....but , I don't actually know...

    The consecration, what does the pope fear?

    He had some hierarchy around him, because Father Amorth said, they kept telling Pope John Paul that he could not name Russia, because of political ramifications. So at the last moment, he substituted the word "world" for Russia. However, there is no indication that bishops around the world participated in this consecration, either from diocesan newspapers or the Vatican newspaper.

    Well for it to be valid, the pope needed the bishops participation....wouldn't you think?

    Is there a text somewhere that says something good will come from Russia something unexpected. I'm sure I read this before. I would not be at all surprised if a Russian leader possibly Putin asks the Vatican to preform the consecration on Russia.
    I go back and forth about Putin and I don't like to commit myself on certain things but I do feel there is something good and something spiritual at work on him. I could be a million miles off on this but I've had this feeling for a couple of years now about him.

    Well after seeing the video of Putin about his faith that Padraig posted, I was floored. It looks like he does have some faith....and that seed could grow! Wouldn't it be so amazing to see him make a request like that? With God, all things are possible!

    Edited this post.... I just found this....haven't heard it yet. I will watch it with you...

    Oh my! Putin is an evil man, yes masked he is for some at this moment, but he will be unmasked soon. Yes, at some point after the evil leader wages a hellacious war the citizens of Russia will revolt against its communistic leadership and prevail. Putin is snake in sheep's clothing.

    I'm sure he is speaking of the Obama gang when he speaks of evil Washington.

    As I say I go back and forth Fatima on this and I could be way off the mark totally. I have watched a few things about him on YouTube mostly not good stuff. Maybe it's a hope inside, but I do believe something good will come from Russia.

    :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: tea it's definitely in the irish genes it cures everything lol.
    That video was very interesting. I'd like to know more about this Bishop Williamson so I google him quickly he seems a tad controversial, he seemingly believes in a concillar church in one article and then a traditionalist in another.
