Consecration which i didn't mention it.......... just the story of Fatima.

Remember that Lucia never heard of Russia as it was by the name of Soviet union at that time-USSR. No internet or radio/media in 1917 as it was a primitive world that time. Most of us would have never heard of Russia at that time except for well informed people. When she wrote her book as she mentioned Russia but not the Soviet union, which was puzzling.

One curious thing was Fransciso who wasn't allowed to hear our lady's words.... except for two other seers. Normally seers hear everything together as in other apparitions around the world. This was an exception. Why was this?

The Vatican more obsessed with Fatima than others as you can see the frequency of papal visits .They had controlled Lucia in the past.... no free speech... she can't say what she wants even to correct the mistakes or misconceptions etc. That was a red flag.

Miracle of the sun not a supernatural event per se.

By the way, i'm not obliged to believe Fatima even i visited there twice.

Fransciso seemed to be very genuine from the photos that doesn't mean that i believe it.

Funny enough, i bought a Euro lotto ticket in Portugal as i won exactly €13 after Fatima visit. But lost that ticket on way home.

Too many people including too many sceptics witnessed the miracle. Also, mass hysteria wouldn't explain away people's clothes being wet before the miracle and dry afterwards. I'm fairly sure that there were some miraculous cures at the time of the miracle, and I would be very surprised to learn that there have been no reported miracles at Fatima since the apparitions.

Some people will never convert no matter how many miracles they witness. Whatever about her father, Lucy proved herself to be a very devout child and adult. She was also very obedient to the Church and didn't seek personal enrichment or fame. All the evidence is that the other two children were extremely devout, especially little Jacinta. Remarkable children who never wavered in their accounts, which is even more remarkable considering they were ignorant peasants facing hostile officials at a time when children were expected to be seen and not heard. St. Bernadette's brother annoyed her by selling plaster statues at the grotto in Lourdes but that didn't take away from St. Bernadette's credibility.

Wasn't there strong socialist influence in the Provisional government as well as in the opposition? There were different views of how and when to achieve full socialist control with infighting by various factions (same old, same old with the Left where a split is the first item on the agenda). They didn't declare themselves officially Communist until after the October Revolution but they were well on the road to Communism before the October Revolution. Right up to the end of the Soviet Union, they always claimed that they were socialists working their way towards communism (or words to that effect). That's how I understand it anyway, although I must admit that I know very little about Russian history.

How you felt at Fatima isn't really relevant to whether the apparitions were genuine. Lots of things influence people's feelings. You are certainly not obliged to believe in Fatima and it won't affect your salvation one way or the other. It's good to read another person's perspective on it all. Until very recently, I thought that Fatima was done and dusted, ending with the fall of the Soviet Union so soon after St. John Paul's second consecration. Now, the more I learn the more I wonder whether there's more coming down the line although I'm not sure whether the "more" will be a reward or a chastisement. God Bless.

Interesting that the picture of fake Sr Lucia's sister just serves to confirm something: fake Sr Lucia always had that family's protuberant chin. The lips are also thin. Very dissimilar to the real Sr Lucia's 'receding' chin and full lips. So, we know that dentures had nothing to do with the supposed change in appearance. There was an impostor in place.

You are entitled to your opinion but are you sure you are on the right forum if you do not believe in Fatima?

After all this is called the Mother of God Forum.

And what has winning 13 euros in a lottery got to do with anything? Are you superstitious about the number 13?

Ummm, while it is true that there was no internet, why would young Lucia not know of a country called Russia?

    Fatima = 1917

Formation of Soviet Union = 1922

    Basic facts count!!

    That's your opinion garabandal.
I'm sticking with what I said. In the earlier posts, people were trying to explain the differences between the real Sr Lucy and the fake Sr Lucy by saying she had gotten dentures that changed the shape of her chin/jaw.
I'm pointing out that this is an error..

But... apparently it´s true. I read somewhere that the girls were so ignorant and backward that they thought Russia was a bad lady from a neighboring village. This lends even more credence to the messages. Lucia repeated what she heard without understanding the meaning.

Hi Mac, send my regards to my good Friend Basto and tell him from me as well, No Fake Lucy, we checked this Rumor for years now and there is not any possible doubt, in no way any member of her own Family or relatives, Sister, cousins or anyone else, would have accepted eve? forced by Rome and the so called Obedience, to take her Place, this would be a Sin against the Holy Spirit and no one related to Lucia would risk damnation, despite any threats or orders, please be sure of that, for your information, none of any Fatima Scholars had never took seriously into account this false Rumor, hopefully you and my good Friend Basto as well, thanks.

    But the pictures don't lie....

  16. No one in that simple village knew of the place of Russia. The Garabandal seers say that they thought by "world" they imagined only the small territory they were familiar with. The Medj. seers weren't familiar with other apparition sites. We take for granted the current world view (which has its own misinformation as well) that has sped through just the last decades with a speed never known before in other generations. The children/seers accepted it and repeated the name because it came from Mary to them. It is said that they at first thought that our Lady was referring to a woman by that name. The messages were meant for the whole world but via the instrument of this humble place and its children. In so many apparitions the seers or those receiving messages can't interpret them....or else there wouldn't be so much guessing and confusion from those interested in dates and times and degree of punishment and just what should be done, etc. Most come as warnings that can influence the future through the obedience of the believers and their sacrifices and prayers. And later it was possible for the people/believers to establish for themselves what was meant by Russia. The messages also pertained to a future not yet in the workings....remember, our Lady said as well about this possible future pertaining to this strange "Russia" that "in order to prevent THIS" (what she had described as possibly spreading throughout the world with wars and rumors of wars/Communism and whole nations being destroyed) she would come to ask consecration of this known (by her and heaven) instrument of destruction, Russia, to prevent such results. How many today are still praying for this conversion (which first has to be consecrated by name) of Russia since they have been influenced to think it is no longer necessary due to what they've been taught to assume is now a done deal.....only now just another nice shrine to visit and receive graces, w/o knowing even its still unmet purpose in history? This was the intended end by certain Vatican authorities and so people who have accepted that mantra appear like those still "waiting for Godot" and so far He hasn't shown up in the way/result as described by our Lady to occur once this "consecration" was made to her specifications!

With all due respect, I have to jump in about the Sr. Lucy conspiracy. People's faces change as they age. Lips get waaaaay thinner. Lose their shape, mouths get sunken in, etc etc. I do not buy the conspiracy fake Sr. Lucy theory. She looks like our Sr. Lucy as she aged. I am going on 70. My ears are different shape now, longer, my lips are thinner, I have jowls, my jawline is different, my teeth have shifted, my eyes are heavily lidded due to loose skin, my eyebrows are thin, and completely different from even when I was in my 40's. Now no one will want to see my photo since they might think I look like Frankenstein's bride, :ROFLMAO:but seriously, I look at myself every day and I have all of the classic age characteristics. And in Heaven I will be renewed so I don't worry about it:LOL:

Hey, thanks Mac. I have never seen this comparison photo of Sister Lucia's sister before . I think it is so obvious from the photo of Lucia's sister that there was not a fake Sister Lucy. I think that when Lucia is pictured as a younger person, (she was a religious Sister in a different Order) she was much, much thinner, and may have been fasting austerely in those days, before she entered the Carmelite Order. And I think that fasting had altered her appearance for a period of her life, but as she grew older, it became easier to see her resemblance to the photos of her as a child.
