Vouthon, I agree that we do not know the times or the season. My previous post was more of a reflection on how the conversion of the remaining Gentiles and then the Jews would occur. In other words, I believe that it would take a miracle as in the one prophesized in Garabandal but we will understand better when it happens. I have, in quite a few other posts, wondered if we are approaching the occurrence of these things based on different signs which may be occurring. I do believe that we are in the 5th age of the church, so that is significant. The biggest thing that has my attention is the possibility of the Woman Clothed with the Sun sign occurring on 9/23/17 but we can't be 100% certain of that. I agree that we should reflect and pray devoutly, etc. Looking at what you posted from Saint Bosco if the rainbow of peace appears in February then he could be speaking of 2018. It is, as you have stated, obscure. Awhile back I was reading Marie Julie Jahenny's prophecies and it appeared she may have pointed to the beginning of the year for the Warning when the days were getting longer and I thought that she had said something about the month of flowers but again I don't believe that she has been approved by the church and a lot of her prophecies are obscure also. Thank you, this is an interesting post! The anniversary of Fatima's "Miracle of the Sun" is certainly an important milestone. As to whether anything will actually happen on the day of its centenary, I obviously can't say. I will note a few things though, which may be of significance (or not! ). A parallel can be discerned between the hundred years separating the private revelations concerning the consecration of the French monarchy to the Sacred Heart of Jesus that were revealed to Saint Mary Margaret Alacoque in 1689 and the outbreak of the French Revoution on the same date in 1789, and the hundred years that likewise separate the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima from the centenary of the Sun miracle this year, 2017. Sister Lucia made the synchronicity between the two "centenaries" apparently when she wrote in August 1931: My confessor ordered me to inform Your Excellency about what happened a little while ago, between our Good God and myself: As I was asking God for the conversion of Russia, Spain and Portugal, it seemed that His Divine Majesty said to me:‘You console Me a great deal in asking Me for the conversion of those poor nations: Request it also of My Mother, while saying to Her often: Sweet Heart of Mary, be the salvation of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world.‘At other times say: By Thy Pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, obtain for me the conversion of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world.‘Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary.’ In another text she wrote, Later, through an intimate communication, Our Lord complained to me: ‘They did not wish to heed My request! ... Like the King of France they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors in the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer.’ Sister Lucia was here making an explicit reference to the requests of the Sacred Heart given through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque on June 17, 1689 to the King of France, particularly in this letter dated June 17, 1689: He [Jesus] desires, then, it seems to me, to enter with pomp and magnificence into the palaces of kings and princes, therein to be honored as much as He has been despised, humiliated, and outraged in His Passion. May He receive as much pleasure therein at seeing the great ones of the world abasing and humbling themselves before Him as He once felt bitterness at beholding Himself annihilated at their feet! Here are the words that I heard on this point: 'MAKE KNOWN TO THE ELDEST SON OF MY HEART,' SPEAKING OF OUR KING, 'THAT AS HIS TEMPORAL BIRTH WAS OBTAINED THROUGH DEVOTION TO THE MERITS OF MY HOLY CHILDHOOD, IN THE SAME MANNER HE WILL OBTAIN HIS BIRTH OF GRACE AND ETERNAL GLORY BY THE CONSECRATION THAT HE WILL MAKE OF HIMSELF TO MY ADORABLE HEART, which wishes to triumph over those of the great ones of the world. Emile Bougaud Life of Blessed Margarete Mary Alacoque pages 267—269 The French monarchy failed to make this consecration until it was too late and a century had transpired. On June 17 1789, exactly 100 years after the revelation to St. Mary Margaret Alacoque related in her above letter, the deputies of the French Third Estate declared themselves the National Assembly and swore not to leave until a new constitution is established, thereby triggering the French Revolution that would both depose the absolutist French King and result in savage persecution of the Catholic Church for the next 26 years until 1815.
Additionally, St. Bonaventure appears to suggest that there is some kind of connection between the end of the "age" of the Church preceding the Most Blessed Peace of his "Seventh/Sixth" age, as well as the arrival of the Great Monarch, and a "Sun Miracle" which he relates to an earlier "Sun miracle" that took place under the reign of Hezekiah in the Old Testament. Less than a hundred years later the Babylonian captivity of the Jews began. It ended some decades later thanks to Cyrus the Great, Zerubbabel and the High Priest Joshua. St. Bonaventure took the ending of the Babylonian Captivity by these figures to be the "prototype" for the Seventh or Sixth Age of the Church characterised by a period of peace. In his Collations on the Hexaemeron - a series of sermons delivered to the Franciscan community at Paris in the Spring of 1273 - the Seraphic Doctor contends that concordances exist in which precise historical parallels can be worked out among the seven ages of each Testament, the Old and the New. In other words, if we look at the history of the Israelites in the Old Covenant, we can anticipate foreshadowings of different epochs in the history of the Church. From this theoretical foundation, St. Bonaventure formulated a "theology of history" in which there are Seven Ages of the Church, mirroring what he believed had been Seven Ages in the life of the Old Testament Jews. I'll quote for you the entire section but note in particular the passages which I underline: THE AGES OF THE CHURCH By St. Bonaventure According to this, you can also distinguish six ages, for all authors agree that the seventh age runs together with the sixth...These times follow one another and there is a great correspondence among them in both Testaments. According to this, the time of the founding of nature lasted from Adam to Noah, the time of the cleansing from sin from Noah to Abraham, the time of the chosen race from Abraham to Moses. God chose Abraham not Lot, Isaac not Ishmael, Jacob not Esau, and Judah from whom Christ was born. The time of the established Law lasted from Moses to Samuel, who anointed one king who was evil, one king who was chosen. The time of baptism in blood lasted from Clement to Silvester, because under Clement began the great persecution when the Jews were sold into slavery and expelled from Jerusalem, and Clement with his people was ex-iled to Chersonea in Greece. During the intervening time from Clement to Silvester there were ten great persecutions. The time of the general law lasted from Silvester to Pope Leo I; in this time the Creed was issued. The time of the law of justice lasted from Leo to Gregory, the Church Doctor; in this time the laws of Justinian were issued, as well as the canons and the monastic and canonical rules. In this time lived St. Benedict, who prophe-sied about St. Gregory and blessed his mother when she was pregnant with him. The time of the lofty throne lasted from Gregory to Hadrian, under whom the empire passed to the Gennans, and the rule of Constantinople was divided. Charlemagne was the emperor in the Western Church and Pepin was the first Frankish king of Italy, because when they were not able to bear the insult of foreign races they made him king of Italy and he fought the king of the Lombards and was victorious. The time of clear teaching extends from Hadrian, but who can say or has said how long it will last? It is certain that we are in it, and it is certain that it will last until the overthrow of the beast coming up from the abyss when Babylon will be confounded and de-stroyed and afterward peace will be given (Rev. 17: 18). Nevertheless, it is first necessary that the tribulation come. The End is not to be placed there, because no one knows how long that time of great peace will last since ''when they said 'Peace and security,' then suddenly destruction came upon them" (Matt. 24:21). The seventh time or age, that of quiet, begins with the shout of the angel who "swore through Him who lives forever and ever that there would be no more time; but in the days of the seventh angel the mystery of God will be completed" (Rev. 10:&-7).In the sixth age three things take place - excellence of victory, excellence of teaching, and excellence of the prophetic life....In this age there ought to come a life through an order which will possess the propheticlife. This age is double. Just as in the Lord's Passion there was first light, then darkness, and then light, so it is necessary that first there be the light of teaching and that Josiah succeed Hezekiah, after which came the tribulation of the Jews through their captivity. It is necessary that One Ruler, a defender of the Church, arise. He either is still to come or has already come. After him will come the darkness of tribulations. It was said to the angel of Philadelphia, the sixth angel: "He who is holy and true, who has the key of David, who opens and no man closes, closes and no man opens, says this-'! know your works, and behold I have placed an open door before you' " (Rev. 3:7). (And he said that now for the first time the understanding of Scripture would be given and that the revelation, or key of David, would be given to a person or a large group, but I think rather to a large group.) In the seventh age [of the Old Testament] we know that these things took place - the rebuilding of the Temple, the restoration of the city, and the granting of peace. Likewise in the coming seventh age there will be a restoration of divine worship and a rebuilding of the city. Then the prophecy of Ezekiel will be fulfilled when the city comes down from heaven (Ezek. 40); not indeed that city which is above, but that city which is below, the Church Militant which will then be conformed to the Church Triumphant as far as possible in this life. Vouthon, Does Saint Bonaventure say anything about Ezek. 38/39 what many refer to as the Gog/Magog war? If Ezek. 38/39 proceeds Ezek. 40, then my hypothesis could be correct, that indirectly out of this war we will have the Great Monarch and the Holy Pope. That is what Alois Irlmaier appears to prophesize. Thank you. PS- I love this quote, "the Church Militant which will then be conformed to the Church Triumphant as far as possible in this life. Then will be the building and restoration of the city as it was in the beginning. Then there will be peace." I believe that this will occur as a result of the Warning and the Miracle, we'll see.
Carol, As you see in the aforementioned extract, St. Bonaventure refers mainly to the subsequent chapter 40 in Ezekiel in his exegesis. He does not appear, at least in this text, to use chapters 38-39 as authorities - but, of course, that does not mean that he didn't elsewhere and I simply haven't seen it. Certainly he did refer to Gog and Magog in a different text but unfortunately I can only find it in Latin! Vouthon, Thank you! I will be reading this after I translate it. Awhile ago, I realized that Ezk. 40 could be referring to the Warning since we are the temple, as Saint Bonaventure is confirming and in Ezk. 40 the temple is being measured. So I think after the Gog/Magog War we will be weighed, measured and found wanting, well, at least I know that I will be found wanting. (And it appears that Alois and Saint Paisios may have confirmed my idea). It makes for an interesting idea, again we'll see. PS- The best I can do is try and put some order to the future events. Then I can look for signs to see when the first event may occur and hopefully recognize it when it has occurred. Then wait for the next event to occur or maybe start all over again if something unexpected has happened, not so easy.
Am I the only one who interprets the quote from Matt 24:21 thusly: "When they said 'peace and security,' suddenly destruction came upon them" I have always interpreted that to mean almost the same thing as "eating and drinking, and giving themselves in marriage, and then the flood came and destroyed them all". Luke 17-27 I have always thought that both of those Scriptures were similar in nature, and I have always interpreted it to mean that NOW we THINK there is peace and security, and we need to watch and keep our lamps lit because suddenly destruction could come upon us. Most people are sheeple today. They think there is peace and security. I know I could get easily lulled into thinking all is well. You know, we watch the news, the DOW Jones average, we are glad somehow that everything is happening a continent away, we keep up a good front. I know this is just generalizing, but that is how I interpret Matt 24:21. Interesting that you put it in the future to tie in with an age of the Church.
I think you are asking Vouthon but I think your interpretation is a good one. Vouthon used the following scripture to demonstrate what you are stating and with this scripture it is interesting to note that this sudden loss of peace is being compared to a woman in labor (WCWTS?). 1 Thessalonians 5 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA) 1 But of the times and moments, brethren, you need not, that we should write to you; 2 For yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall so come, as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape. But from what we have been studying about the Great Monarch vs. the AC, the time after the Middle East War to come will not be the time of the AC nor the time of Christ but hopefully the time of the Great Monarch and a Holy Pope but as Saint Bonaventure states how long will this peace last he does not know. Saint Hildegard also is wise to state, that even though there will be peace, people will be truly on watch for the end. So it appears we are in the period of a falling away from the faith right now, which may be followed by some reconfirmation of a peace treaty, only to be followed by a war which will end in a purification of the Earth, then still some upheaval until the Great Monarch settles everything accompanied by mass conversions and then another war/confrontation between the Great Monarch and the AC which is accompanied by the great apostasy and then the end. So it's peace period, war, I of C, peace period, war, Judgment and the end. Of course, only if my interpretation is correct. Do you see why I think we may be headed for a dress rehearsal of the end? Honestly whether I am right or wrong, we know what to do to be prepared.
I think both interpretations are perfectly valid. Yours applies it to everyday life, more immediately, whereas St. Bonaventure and other exegetes have applied it primarily to the future time of the Eschaton. The point of the verse for me is this: the term Pax et securitas (Peace and Security) in the context of first century Thessalonica was one of the slogans of the Roman Empire, of the Pax Romana instituted by Caesar Augustus. Paul is here pointing to the "Day of the Lord" as the event that will shatter this peace and stability, following the manifestation of Antichrist - "the son of destruction". As Helmut Koester, James Harrison and others have argued, this passage should be read in light of the Roman imperial propaganda. The expression “peace and safety” (pax et securitas) was common during the era of the pax Romana (Roman peace). During this time period, people in the Roman Empire felt protected against barbarian attacks. The subjects uttering "peace and security" are, in the context, the Romans who trusted in the immutability of their temporal “peace and security". Rome claimed to have brought peace to the world. Even the early church fathers understood the Empire to be the "katechon" described St. Paul, which restrained the advent of Antichrist and "lawlessness": St John Chrysostom Homily IV on Second Thessalonians II Thess.ii.6-9: "...Only there is one that restrains now, until he be taken out of the way, that is, when the Roman empire is taken out of the way, then he shall come. And naturally. For as long as the fear of this empire lasts, no one will willingly exalt himself, but when that is dissolved, he will attack the anarchy, and endeavor to seize upon the government both of man and of God..." In this respect, Origen understood the Empire as a necessary instrument of God for the propagation of the Gospel hence why it had to come into existence a mere 27 or so years before Jesus's birth and unify the Mediterranean world in preparation for the spread of the good news: "...For righteousness has arisen in His days, and there is abundance of peace, which took its commencement at His birth, God preparing the nations for His teaching, that they might be under one prince, the king of the Romans, and that it might not, owing to the want of union among the nations, caused by the existence of many kingdoms, be more difficult for the apostles of Jesus to accomplish the task enjoined upon them by their Master, when He said, "Go and teach all nations." Moreover it is certain that Jesus was born in the reign of Augustus, who, so to speak, fused together into one monarchy the many populations of the earth. Now the existence of many kingdoms would have been a hindrance to the spread of the doctrine of Jesus throughout the entire world; not only for the reasons mentioned, but also on account of the necessity of men everywhere engaging in war, and fighting on behalf of their native country, which was the case before the times of Augustus, and in periods still more remote,... How, then, was it possible for the Gospel doctrine of peace, which does not permit men to take vengeance even upon enemies, to prevail throughout the world, unless at the advent of Jesus a milder spirit had been everywhere introduced into the conduct of things?..." Now this is all well and good but trusting in temporal "peace and plenty" is immoral when it comes at the exclusion of God. There will come a point, St. Paul predicted, when in the words of St. Hildegard with regards to the prophesied peace: "it becomes a time of decadence, of bold pleasures and vanities that always spring up when we humans doze away in a kind of lazy peace and are smothered by too many possessions. This is because we are no longer disturbed by conflicts or restrained by a lack of food. In view of our enjoyment of such luxuries, we do not wish to show God the honour we owe to the Deity for all these things." In this way, "peace and security" makes way for the Antichrist and the Day of the Lord. Understood as a prophecy of the Day of the Lord, this verse predicts a time of "peace and security" like unto that enjoyed during the days of the Roman Empire that will ultimately become an occasion of mass sin, heedlessness and rebellion against God because of the pride in temporal securities that it facilitates, which St. Paul predicts shall come crashing down with unforeseen destruction on the Day of the Lord.

The end times is the 7th age of the church which is the 1335 days prior to the second coming. Saint Bellarmine states that 2 occur before the AC including "the gospel will be preached in the whole world" and "the Roman Empire will be terminated". The priest states the Roman Empire will last in some sense until the rejection of the true faith by the gentile nations, known as the Great Apostasy. I am also mentioning this because this was one of the reasons why I wanted to investigate the 6th age of the church. I wanted to look for signs that proceed the Great Apostasy. The greatest sign in my opinion would be the conversion of the remainder of the Gentiles and the Jews to the RCC besides the reign of the Great Monarchy and the Holy Pope. I wish that the priest discussed the Great Monarch and the Holy Pope but I could not find a homily from him on the 6th age of the church. In one of the above homilies he explains that there will be 10 kings of democracies and an 11th, the AC, will rise up who will destroy the Roman Empire and the power will shift to Jerusalem.

One bad thing about the internet is that mistakes get copied and pasted without proper attribution as to where they came from or if they are authentic. Yes that's the problem with the internet: its the most incredible reservoir of free information in the history of mankind yet it's also a Janice-faced tool given that fake news and erroneous information spreads like wildfire on it as well (Unfortunately some of the popular books on Catholic eschatology are offenders in this regard too). Disobedience to the Pope—a Last Schism or Great Apostasy In the “Breton Stigmatist” (pp. 34-35) we find the following text dated October 1882, a revelation given to Marie-Julie stating that bishops disobedient to the Pope will bring about the infamous and blasphemous ‘new’ religion: Our Lord: “The heart of the diocese of (…) (place not revealed?) will revolt and will not be pacified. Its cries and menacing words will make the strong tremble. In the days when the gloom of the great vengeance will surround the people with struggles and conflicts, this pastor (The Bishop of...? ), like the others will not submit to orders of the Roman Pontiff. ... In another text dated November 1882, there is a warning that the greatest attack to the Church before the chastisements will begin when the bishops will demand to separate themselves from the Pope and create a huge schism: “The crowd roars around the Vicar of Jesus Christ. A meeting of the Fathers of the Church will form his councils against the Father of the universe. It (a written declaration) will be presented, at the hands of the governor to which the Holy Father, a piece written and worked on by hands that, many times, will hit the Body of Christ (The Church). This written piece will include three things: 1) That the Pope leaves more liberty to the greater part of those over whom he rules with his authority of Pontiff. (i.e. they will demand that their obligation of obedience to him will be relaxed.) 2) We have met (or, we have all united) and we have been of the opinion that if the mortal head of the Church makes an appeal to his Roman clergy to reform the Faith even stronger; if they want to force us to answer; if they declare in the face of the powers of the earth, that there must be obedience and submission, we declare we want to keep our freedom. It will not be in person by which he will make the call, but in writing. The voice of the Flame says that the third thing written... 3) will thrill the little people of the earth. It will come from the clergy that aspires to a broad freedom: the clergy of France, Italy, Belgium and many other nations that God reveals. This will get worse before the people who can be assured of the sign of His wrath. The next call will throw consternation into the hearts where the Faith still reigns. They want to break the unity between the Holy Father and the priests of the universe, to separate them from the Head of the Church, so that everyone is free to itself, and without any supervision ... A poster will be (publicly) posted and will only mention this disunion and this separation of the apostles of God with the Pope. The most painful sword right now is to see the provisions that have been taken and that are in the making... It is to see the pastors detaching themselves from the Sacred Bond that directs and governs Holy Church (i.e. from the Pope).
