St. John Neumann Church, Annapolis, MD They pray the Perpetual Novena and venerate the icon every Wednesday.
It’s a Redemptorist mission church of St Mary’s in Annapolis The Redemptorists were entrusted with the original icon I think They were, by Pope Pius IX
I highly recommend taking this course on the theology of Mary. I have learned quite a lot and I am only partially through the course. Dr. Miravalle presents the Scriptural foundation, tradition, and writings of the Church fathers and saints to explain the basis of the four Marian Dogmas of the Church. I am better prepared to answer those who may question why Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception, the Assumption, the Mother of God and the Perpetual Virginity of Mary. For example, I guess I didn't know or understand that the only human to have attained the glorified body is the Blessed Mother. All other souls must wait for the final judgement for their glorified bodies. (I hope that I am correct in understanding this....please correct me if I am wrong.) I must have just figured that since some people on earth have had mystical apparitions of saints, that those saints had already attained their glorified bodies....but this is not so....they must wait for the final judgement and the resurrection of the dead. The appearance of a saint in bodily form must be a temporary grace allowed by God for the person on earth to recognize the soul to aid in the understanding of the mystical experience.
