Forgive me if this has been talked about already, but what is the status of Vassuala? I googled it and got this:

    https://www.ewtn.com/library/curia/cdfrydn1.htm

NOTIFICATION ON VASSULA RYDEN (6 October 1995) Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith

"Given the negative effect of Vassula Ryden's activities, despite some positive aspects, this Congregation requests the intervention of the Bishops so that their faithful may be suitably informed and that no opportunity may be provided in their Dioceses for the dissemination of her ideas. Lastly, the Congregation invites all the faithful not to regard Mrs. Vassula Ryden's writings and speeches as supernatural and to preserve the purity of the faith that the Lord has entrusted to the Church. "

Just to clarify - let me emphasize that Vassula did nothing wrong in airing her views on the Russian President. I can understand where she's coming from on this and why she should say this. I'm also quite prepared to believe that a time will come when the prophecies of Russia's leadership in holiness given to her will indeed be fulfilled. However, she makes no claim that her views on Vladimir P. represent anything other than her opinion based on what she sees as the evidence.

In assessing this human opinion, even when expressed by someone of unusual spiritual wisdom, I find myself having to take into account a number of factors (working from the principle that Fides and Ratio belong together because Christ is the Logos - mere human reason never trumps revelation, of course, but genuine revelation can never be contrary to logic in the noblest, truest sense).

    - One is the witness of dissidents from the former USSR, including the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, whom I have had the privilege to get to know personally and who I am pretty sure that history will judge to have been one of the great Christian voices of the late 20th and 21st centuries. Pärt, who had first-hand experience of the KGB from the 1960s onwards, has spoken out against Putin's régime for several years now (for example dedicating a year of his concerts to the memory of Anna Politkovskaïa, whose journal written during the last year of her life I have read).

    - A second is an investigation of the Ukrainian situation using primary sources, not Western news reports. Those who don't understand Slavic languages are really at a disadvantage here, although there is ample material translated into English if you look hard enough.

    - A third, moving on to spiritual considerations, is the fact that, besides the question of Garabandal and now Ned Dougherty, a number of other prophetic sources whom I monitor seriously are claiming to have received direct revelation from above concerning the contemporary threat of Russian aggression (Neville Johnson, Terry Bennett, John Paul Jackson). This may or may not mean anything, of course, but I am yet to see anything in any credible prophetic writing that gives a positive assessment of what is going on in the Kremlin at the moment.

I find myself particularly haunted by Terry Bennett's account of a purported angelic encounter in 2011 that you can find on his website at http://www.terrybennett.net/downloads/An Economic Word.pdf

The angel then pointed his finger and Russia and declared, “The Soviet Union WILL RISE Again”! It will attempt to re-gather many of the former nations by using threats and lures. The government will become extremely aggressive.

What is very thought-provoking is that there is nothing in Terry Bennett's background to suggest that he has ever come across Garabandal... His own view recorded on audio has something in common with Vassula's to the extent that he feels that God is indeed speaking through Putin's critique of the godless West, but he is under no illusions that he is anything other than a dictator - to paraphrase TB's blunt allusion to Balaam, 'God can speak through a jackass if he wants to'.

For your prayerful discernment, as ever.

Yes. Frodo, Vassula has been talked about quite a lot on this forum. The two biggest threads are at:

So those in favor of Putin, can you please answer me one question? Is he no longer considered a murderous dictator? If not, please give me a date or year that he repented and stopped his internal killing?

  5. It so happens that tonight's news, on CNN, speaks of Ukrainians being tortured as we will be sending troops to Poland and three other surrounding nations (former Satellites). When our Administration is asked if military force is being considered, the response is "no". Are we lying to the world?

I think that is a fair question to ask. But I think the specifics of what he is or is not guilty of in terms of 'murderous behaviour' are not entirely obvious. To maintain security in a large state with sections rebelling is always going to involve violence. I don't think anyone is actually suggesting Putin is a Saint. But in support of the view he is no 'thug', I would mention his 'side-kick', Dmitry Medvedev, who is most certainly a genuine and firm Christian believer and who has managed to stay on good terms with Putin for a long time.

This post is a little delayed and out of context (for what it's worth).

I probably have mentioned this before: hearing of judgments makes me quake in my boots! :eek:But...

Rev 15: 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and magnify thy name? For thou only art holy: for all nations shall come, and shall adore in thy sight, because thy judgments are manifest.

I truly believe that the judgments of God fall only when more souls can be saved through them than would be without them. This is why judgments in the context of salvation history are a form of mercy! Alleluia!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

"ye shall judge a tree by its fruit". Jesus gave us the means of judging wrongful actions. No one is judging his soul. The fruits of the following list is not good, but evil.

List of journalists killed in Russia
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The dangers to journalists in Russia have been well known since the early 1990s but concern at the number of unsolved killings soared after Anna Politkovskaya's murder in Moscow on 7 October 2006. While international monitors spoke of several dozen deaths, some sources within Russia talked of over two hundred fatalities.[1] The evidence has since been examined and documented in two reports, published in Russian and English, by international organizations.

А wide-ranging investigation by the International Federation of Journalists into the deaths of journalists in Russia was published in June 2009. At the same time the IFJ launched an online database[2][3] which documents over three hundred deaths and disappearances since 1993. Both the report Partial Justice[4] (Russian version: Частичное правосудие[5]) and the database depend on the information gathered in Russia over the last 16 years by the country's own media monitors, the Glasnost Defense Foundation and the Center for Journalism in Extreme Situations.

In its September 2009 report the Committee to Protect Journalists repeated its conclusion that Russia was one of the deadliest countries in the world for journalists and added that it remains among the worst at solving their murders. The Anatomy of Injustice[6] (Russian version: Анатомия безнаказанности[7]) offers an account of the deaths of 17 journalists in Russia since 2000. They died or were killed, the CPJ is convinced, because of the work they were doing and in only one case, it notes, has there been a partially successful prosecution.

The IFJ report focuses on the capacity of Russian law enforcement agencies, over a longer period of time, to identify and detain those who have killed journalists.[8] It adopted a broader approach than the CPJ study, and offered more analysis of change over time. This permitted Partial Justice to reveal a telling contrast between the rising and successful rate of prosecution for those who have killed journalists in ordinary cases of homicide[9] and the persistent failure to prosecute or convict those responsible for murders linked to the work of journalists.

    Deaths and trials, statistics[edit]
The violent deaths of journalists started in the Yeltsin era (1991–1999) and continued under Putin, president of Russia from 31 December 1999 to 7 May 2008.[26] When Medvedev became president, he spoke of the need to end "legal nihilism".[citation needed] In the past five years, there have been a rising number of trials[17] but by November 2009 there had yet to be a major breakthrough, under Medvedev, either in the prosecution of pre-2008 deaths or the investigation of killings since his May 2008 inauguration. The Politkovskaya murder trial and the first arrests in the Baburova-Markelov slaying (November 2009) showed some inconclusive signs of movement.

Over the past decade the Russian authorities have been repeatedly urged, by Western governments and international media bodies, to do more to investigate the deaths of journalists there. The Paris-based Reporters Without Borders constantly criticized Russia for what it described as a failure to investigate these murders[31][32][33][33][34][35] .[36] The organization further claimed that many of the dead journalists had been critical of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. Between March 2000 and July 2007, said Reporters Without Borders, 21 journalists were murdered in Russia because of their work.[37]

Similar figures were produced by the CPJ.[38] In a June 2007 statement the CPJ said, "A total of 47 journalists have been killed in Russia since 1992, with the vast majority of killings unsolved,".[20] Seventeen of these journalists had been killed "in the line of duty" since 2000: 14 were murdered in retaliation for their journalism; "two died in crossfire; and one was killed while covering a dangerous assignment". The CPJ was continuing to investigate the deaths of eight other journalists to see if there was a link with their work. None of the 14 murders committed since 2000 had been solved, the CPJ said, and "13 bear the marks of contract hits".[20]

    Fatima,
"In favor of Putin" is not the right statement. How about in favor of his public support for all that is Christian. I might ask you, why are you in favor of the west? What or which leaders in the west are espousing your views? Do you believe prayers/consecrations can "move mountains"? Do you believe in redemption? Are you still holding on to the belief that "the west is good and Russia bad?" Do you still believe that Russia has not spread its errors and the west is not communist?

  12. Oh Fatima, I think Putin is a dictator and a murderer. I know what I saw in my four visions while I was in Ukraine in 2012. Russian Troops marching down the streets of Lviv. A Russian concentration camp with Ukrainians in it. AND a football field or bigger with crosses the size of telephone poles ready for the religious or priests...but then our Lord showed me the Era of Peace...maybe to help me stop quaking in my boots! I just was SOOO upset and sad over the situation and the poor suffering Ukrainian people! The peace was so great that I remember it almost more than the bad stuff. I saw flowers with unnatural brilliant colors, loads of them! A neat tidy small home with a white picket fence with a grape arbor in the back yard. The vines were newly planted and peeking from the ground about four inches...I saw fruit trees loaded with beautiful ripe fruit and even the air was different! Pure and clean and wonderfully fresh! In the distance I saw a building and it was made of stone and it was round, which had a dome on the top of it. Similar to this, but without the arches, it was solid walls.
[IMG] I KNOW GOD can use evil to make good, just like he did with the Wall coming down in Germany...
We don't know how it is going to unfold. I have read both of Vassula's books of messages from Jesus. They are impressive to say the least! I know there is MUCH more to Russia than just this interview. She didn't understand either regarding what seems to be happening now and until Jesus revealed it, she was expecting something else. She is at peace however and it shows. If you read the previous messages regarding Russia, then you can see hope!
As you know I am a fan of Locutions.org. It is interesting to compare the two messengers and the messages. Its enough to throw up your hands and say, "I quit!" LOL....but I don't. I trust our Lord to unfold it however He sees fit. Peace and listening to our Lady and her desires is the most important. THIS DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!! ;)

picadllo, is eliminating those in the Russia media, who are opposed to Putin, being in "support for all that is Christian" to you? So, as long as Putin puts a cross around his neck and hangs with the ROC clergy he is your man? I do believe in redemption and a person who served and lead the KGB should make a public apology, not get a free pass, as well as all the other KGB members for their long standing atrocities towards the Russian people. I have never held to the belief that the current " west is good" as you say, in fact I have criticized the US many times on this forum for its lack of morals and leadership. However, unlike you, I do not bash America time and again, as there is still much good that the US does globally for hunger, sickness, tragedies and peace, despite its many moral flaws. Of course Russia has spreads its communistic errors in the US, as well as, the rest of the world. Yes, I believe prayers and the formal consecration, when done specifically as requested by our Lady of Fatima, will change the world forever. It just has not been done yet and it will be late. Finally, in my opinion, the US has not had a moral leader since Ronald Reagan.

Yes, I believe that there is much good in the US, just not in the people running our great country. Yes, there should be some sort of public apology to all who have suffered at Russia's hands as in the Vatican's apologies to all the victims of clerical pederasty. I may be wrong, but I fear those in charge of the US more than Putin, as so well expressed below:

Washington’s Corruption and Mendacity Is What Makes America “Exceptional” — Paul Craig Roberts

World events permitting, I am going to take a few days off.

Many of you write to me asking for financial advice or for explanations of the pros
and cons of different investments. I don’t give financial advice and cannot answer
such a large number of individual inquiries. However, I can call to your attention two books that provide different views from those available in the financial media. The Aftershock Investor by David Wiedemer, Robert A. Wiedemer, and Cindy S. Spitzer (John Wiley & Sons, 2014) explains the vulnerabilities of each kind of investment. The Money Bubble by James Turk and John Rubino (DollarCollapse Press, 2013) explains the possible consequences of the current economic policies. Both books are directed at a general audience and are readable.

As I have reported on several occasions, the US government pays foreign rulers to do
Washington’s bidding. There is no such thing as an independent government in the UK, Europe or Japan. On top of all the other evidence, it has now come to light that the US Agency for International Development has a large slush fund “where millions are paid to political figures in foreign countries.” http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article38253.htm

If you have four hours, watch President Putin’s amazing open press conference with the Russia people and then try to imagine an American or European leader capable of such a feat. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article38254.htm The Russians have a real leader. We have two-bit punks.

The Los Angeles Times has acquired its own Judith Miller. His name is Sergei L. Loiko.
An incompetent Obama regime has botched its takeover of Ukraine with its Kiev coup.
The White House Fool is embarrassed that so many Ukrainians prefer to be part of Russia than part of Washington’s stooge “freedom and democracy” government in Kiev. The prostitute American and European media have thrown the propaganda into overdrive, demonizing Russia and President Putin, in order to cover up Washington’s blunder.

The latest deception cooked up by Washington or by the anti-semitic neo-nazi Right Sector in western Ukraine consists of leaflets falsely issued under the name of one of the leaders of Russian secessionists in eastern Ukraine. The leaflet calls for Jews to sign a registration and list their property. However, no such registration office exists. Washington’s ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt who assisted Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland in orchestrating the overthrow of the elected Ukrainian government and installing Washington’s stooges, declared the leaflets to be “the real deal.” But the Jewish community is suspicious and has issued a statement that the leaflet “smells like a provocation.” Jewish residents of the Russian territories that Soviet leaders added to the Ukraine Soviet Republic say that anti-semitism has not been a feature of their lives in the Russian speaking areas. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/04/17/jews-ordered-to-register-in-east-ukraine/7816951/ See also:
    http://rt.com/news/fake-news-ukraine-russia-364/

Washington and the prostitute media are purveyors of misinformation. Remember, Washington and its media prostitutes told you that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and was a threat to America. Washington and its media prostitutes told you that Syria’s President Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. Washington and its media prostitutes told you that “we are not spying on you.” Remember, the New York Times sat on the first leak from a top NSA official that Americans were being illegally spied upon for one year until George W. Bush was safely reelected.

A government that relies on propaganda cannot be believed about anything. Americans misinformed by a prostitute media are in no position to protect the US Constitution and their liberty. Misinformed, they become tyranny’s allies and their own worst enemy.

72 Types Of Americans That Are Considered “Potential Terrorists” In Official Government Documents

    [IMG]Michael Snyder
    Activist Post

Are you a conservative, a libertarian, a Christian or a gun owner? Are you opposed to abortion, globalism, Communism, illegal immigration, the United Nations or the New World Order? Do you believe in conspiracy theories, do you believe that we are living in the “end times” or do you ever visit alternative news websites (such as this one)?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you are a “potential terrorist” according to official U.S. government documents.

At one time, the term “terrorist” was used very narrowly. The government applied that label to people like Osama bin Laden and other Islamic jihadists. But now the Obama administration is removing all references to Islam from terror training materials, and instead the term “terrorist” is being applied to large groups of American citizens.

And if you are a “terrorist”, that means that you have no rights and the government can treat you just like it treats the terrorists that are being held at Guantanamo Bay. So if you belong to a group of people that is now being referred to as “potential terrorists”, please don’t take it as a joke. The first step to persecuting any group of people is to demonize them. And right now large groups of peaceful, law-abiding citizens are being ruthlessly demonized.

Care needed in trying to make a balanced assessment here. On one hand I can certainly understand your general unease about celebrity, Padraig, and with any apostolate/ministry there is a constant concern that the focus will truly and consistently be on Christ and not the apostolate's human founder. That's just a question of our fallen nature and our tendency to create personality cults, whoever that personality may be (often it's the spiritually immature followers who create the problems by putting their heroes on pedestals). There are ALWAYS human factors involved in cases like this. On the other hand however it needs to be said that from what I can see Vassula Ryden has done a great deal of 'hidden' apostolic work over many years in places such as prisons and far-flung locations away from the cameras. It also needs to be recognized that she has been the object of a great deal of personal vitriol from many sources (I'm not talking about the CDF here but rather the likes of Unity Publishing and others), so has in some ways been forced by circumstance and the plain lies of various detractors into some organized self-defence. This may strike some as a little too 'well-packaged', but I wouldn't judge it too hastily without understanding the background.
