R67, I spent 20+ years in the AF, including Gulf War I, so US Citizens could believe as they wished ... but ... YOU/Posts have triggered Blips on my Jew Hater Radar for the past couple of years! Living in the Bible Belt, I have been the target of Anti-Catholic Bigotry and I will NOT tolerate that or the Jew Bigotry I grew up with. So keep posting Islamic propaganda/Jew Hatred and I'll be In Your Face!

You are full of it. I never once posted "Jew hatred" or "Islamic propaganda." Your petty attacks are pathetic but predictable for someone whose allegiance is to Israel first.

Assad and Putin couldn't do much worse than the Western "liberators" of Iraq. The Christian population in Iraq has been decimated:https://www.christianpost.com/news/...-shrinking-iraqi-christian-population-193842/

Please note that I'm not pointing the finger at brave American service personnel who fought in the Gulf Wars. The US military has a reputation second to none in the world. And they have kept the Western World safe from the worst kind of totalitarianism.

One interesting thing here is how divisive politics can be even among people very united in their religious beliefs.

I think this is one of the reasons why the Church is so very divided at the moment in that we have perhaps the most political Pope in history.

But don't get me wrong I am enjoying the discussion; although to be honest I am not so interested in politics as when I was younger.

You know one time Padre Pio was asked by the owner of a major car factory in Italy what he should do with Communists in his work force,

'Should I beat them with sticks?' he asked.

    To which the saint replied,

    'Put nails in them!!'':D;)

    Dolours,
You were correct when you stated it is a mess in one of your other posts and I think that we all feel different levels of frustration because it is a mess.

The Only Way Russia Could Have Warned Syria About
Friday Night Was if Syria had Stopped Watching CNN

Posted at 9:18 pm on April 14, 2018
    [IMG]

After taking a pounding last night that probably put it’s chemical weapons capability out of action for months (cholorine)
and years (sarin), Syria was out bright and early today claiming it was no big deal because the Russians had warned them.

The Syrian government and its allies have absorbed a U.S.-led attack on Saturday and the targeted sites were evacuated
days ago thanks to a warning from Russia, a senior official in a regional alliance that backs Damascus said.

“We have absorbed the strike”, the official told Reuters.

“We had an early warning of the strike from the Russians … and all military bases were evacuated a few days ago,
” the official said. Around 30 missiles were fired in the attack, and a third of them were shot down, the official said.
The military terminology for this is “damned lie.”

    Here are the key elements....

Ultimately, Syria knew what the targets would be and several days before the strike they moved some of their aircraft
to Russian airbases. Is this more evidence that they in fact had chemical weapons at these targeted locations, I think so.

I don't know, Carol, what significance there is to the Syrians moving aircraft out of harm's way. I don't know the significance of anything that has happened and continues to happen there other than that Christians were safer before the West decided to export democracy to the Middle East. Perhaps it's naivete, which I very much doubt, but for Western leaders to give the impression that they could impose overnight on an alien culture what was a long and winding road in their own countries and culture was doomed to failure.

Repeating the same mistakes expecting a different outcome is sheer lunacy.

It leads one to wonder just who these strikes were meant for with the prior warnings to both Russian and Syrian national forces. As well, with the Israeli strike against Iran also which reportedly took lives. It seems Iran was either not warned or were and disregarded the warning.

Dolours, Here are two paragraphs from one the articles that I posted above which may answer your question,

"For all of Mr. Trump’s tough language this week, the variant he chose made no apparent effort to damage Mr. Assad’s broader war machine or his government’s command and control of its forces beyond its chemical weapons. The one-night burst of ordnance appears unlikely to change the overall balance of forces in Syria seven years into its bloody civil war. But the president hoped it would be enough to deter Mr. Assad from using chemical weapons again without being so damaging as to compel Russia and Iran to intervene.

    ...

With days of warning that Mr. Trump planned to take action, Syria moved some of its aircraft to a Russian base in hopes of deterring Americans from attacking there — and, in turn, igniting aggressions between the two Cold War powers. Mr. Trump made sure not to target that base on Friday, averting the chance of hitting Russian targets but also sparing the Syrian air force."

    Don,

Maybe the above quotes answer your question regarding the most recent strikes which were meant
to destroy only Syria's chemical weapons and deter them from using chemical weapons in the future.

As for the alleged Israeli strike, I think that is more likely to result in a retaliation from Iran, Israel in ‘direct combat’ with Iran after Syria raid: Hezbollah .

Still it is important to remember that according to international law that since Israel was attacked by Iran first with that drone which was shot down over Israeli air space, Israel had/has the right to retaliate. In addition, Israel appears to have a piece of the Iranian drone which was shot down as evidence.

By "prior warnings", I suppose that you are referring to the non-specific warnings from President Trump unlike the
warnings that were given last year when Russia was notified by the US in advance of the strikes on Syria in April of 2017.

Nothing there lends any weight to the claim that Assad had used chemical weapons or that the targets of the air strikes were facilities for making chemical weapons.

It's rather ironic to see foreign powers attack a country and then label that country's armed forces as a war machine.

If the Christians in Syria say that Assad is their best hope for survival, that's good enough for me.

The whole thing stinks. We should keep the H out of there. Even if Trump is trying to undo some of the wrongs of the past 16 years so much harm had been done that cannot be undone that our best most righteous course is to NOT rearrange a situation we DONT understand. So it seems to me. I look around the landscape of the ME and see nothing but ruination and catastrophe. They didn't get there by themselves. That blue ribbon goes to GW Bush and all naive Americans who supported him. I was one. The loss of life of our brave soldiers as well as civilians boggles the mind. For what? Some NWO master plan??I will try very hard not to be fooled again. Poor people of Syria. Poor poor people. Poor famies of those whose military children were killed in this conflict from all the allied countries. God have mercy on us all.

    Dolours,

After the strikes last year, I remember sounding like you do now and you sounded more like me. :)

I am more convinced that there were chemical weapons but not 100% convinced that Assad himself ordered their use in this latest incident. Hopefully any remains of Assad's chemical arsenal as he calls it has been destroyed in this strike and the Syrians will get a break from all of this horrid chaos for awhile if not forever.

I think many feel compelled to help those in harms way in some manner and the actions taken by
the US/UK/France this past weekend appear to have been minimal but hopefully very effective.

    AED,
...that is one of the best posts i've ever read on this site.
    Well said!
I dont know whose right or wrong in this instance. But I do know that the western elite/leaders ( - the same western leaders who attack the catholic church, who promote abortion, and who have inflicted gay 'marriage' etc etc upon us) are very keen to invade countries and by so doing; destroy innocent life and wreak havoc upon those same countries.
I also know that I wouldn't trust any of those same leaders with a bag of spuds, let alone to run our countries. But there they are - these elites, running our countries and convincing us that war is good!

    Hi Carol,
I dont believe a word of what the elites sa; these elites now run the west. I haven't for a long time believed any of their propaganda.

The Congo ...for example, theres widespread genocide, ethnic cleansing and famine happening as we speak in the Congo. If the collective consciences of these same western leader's is so perturbed by injustice.......then why arent they taking action there?
    - They know its going-on.
    - They have the wherewithal to do something about it, if they so wished.
So why isnt their conscience making them intervene there?

For me, their feigned concern is just that. It stinks of double standards. It stinks of hypocrisy. As with all these far-off, far-flung wars; there is an alterior motive at the heart of the matter.
And at this juncture, I think the elites are either so crazy, or so clueless that they may even want - WANT - to drag us into a nuclear conflict with Russia.

The end cant be far off now...

If the vested interests want the fighting to continue, this will make no difference.

From the perspective of Christians living in the region, Assad was running the cleanest house in a dirty neighbourhood. Bush was probably misled but Obama wasn't. He and Clinton knew what they were doing. That they represented a political party forever banging on about the rights of indigenous minorities is testament to their sheer hypocrisy. The Christians and Yazidis are the indigenous minorities in Iraq and Syria and they are the real victims of the slaughter.

I believe that Trump wants out of Syria and wants to establish some kind of peace with Russia. The collusion investigations put paid to that. China will be the real winner in the end, and the Chinese didn't fire a shot in the ME.

  18. Wow! All of that out of the very specific targeting and accomplishing such targets of three means of production along the pipeline to chemical weapons. Symbolic of SOMEBODY in this "brave" world who made those signed agreements of international statements against war criminals something real for a change...for the world to see. Those on the ground in Syria were happy for at least this show of what such targets are used for.....they only wish the whole program and the scary leader who orders their continuing use was put out of order as well so the continuing destruction of the innocent by their own would finally be put to an end. Some of those reactions have already been given earlier.

    Dolours and Jackzokay,
Lots of good observations and questions. It's definitely difficult to make sense of it all, as hard as I try to. Just when we think we figured something out, something else changes. It's all a moving target but I suppose that we are closer to going home than we were yesterday, when that will be only God knows.

Keep praying for those who are suffering, keep praying for peace. Hopefully, we'll all meet in paradise.

The deep state failed to get the USA involved in a wider war with Russia via their false flag “gas attack.” North Korea has been neutralized, Syria is off the table. Expect them to try to collapse economies next.
