Thank you Padraig for this. This makes me realize how "Good" we must be and to live our lives joyfully to be pleasing to God . This forum is from Our Blessed Mother--Lady Mary as she called herself here. I have a long way to go but just reading these excerpts makes us think. Please Lady Mary help me.
Thanks Barbara, I got this message from Susan Melitto. herself and her hubby have actually visited Laus! This is a place that every Catholic should visit if they are in the area of Our Lady of Laus. Words cannot express the beauty and spirituality of this wonderful Shrine. We were blessed to have visited there in 2010 while on our "annual personal pilgrimage". If you do get to the Shrine, don't forget to bring a little of the Holy Oil home with you ... we didn't know about it until we had departed but it is located right in the Shrine. After Mass, the two of us took time to walk the path through the forest to get to the actual place of the Miracle. We walked around the statues, we sat on the bench and Prayed. We both were overcome with tears by the absolutely spiritual peace that came upon us. We don't really know how long we sat there ... looking out into the valley and over to the mountains. Highly recommended as a place to visit on a spiritual journey. They do have a Retreat Center there in case you wish to remain there for a day or two. Thank you for posting information about this Sacred Shrine to Our Lady of Laus. God Bless. Susan & Tom Melillo In a message dated 6/9/2013 3:45:57 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time,
This is a very random question but I was wondering if you know of any other Marian apparitions in which the Blessed Virgin carried the infant Jesus with her? I know she did often at Laus, Saint-Etienne-le-Laus, France and the yet to be approved apparition at San Sebastian de Garabandal, Spain but are there any others? Thank you. I think that there may be something very prophetic about Our Lady of Laus for the times we are in currently. The seer, Renoite Rencurel passed away on December 25th, 1718 and September 16th, 1647 was her birthday. This September 16th, exactly 370 years later, is the Jewish feast of Leil Selichot in which prayers for forgiveness are made in preparation for the Jewish high holidays. The WCWTS gives birth around September 9th, if she represents both Israel and the Church (which Pope Benedict believes https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...276BA162DDB7AC10854F276BA162DDB7A&FORM=VRDGAR) then Israel and the Church will truly be in pain on and around September 23rd. I am not suggesting I know what will occur on September 16th but that whole period of time in September is crucial I think.
Last year, I filled out a form on the website connected with the Sanctuary at Laus and they generously sent a few bottles of the oil from the sanctuary lamp that burns near the altar of the Bon Rencontre chapel where Mary appeared to Benoite. The Blessed Virgin told Benoite that "If one takes oil from the sanctuary lamp and applies it, appealing to my intercession with faith, one will be cured". Heaven is so kind to grant us with so many graces and promises. It's too bad that our society (myself included) have so little knowledge of these promises and make so little use of them. Here is a link to request the oil: http://www.sanctuaire-notredamedulaus.com/en/pray-our-lady-of-the-laus/oil-of-the-laus.html
From Totus Tuus page: "In the quiet French Alps of Saint-Étienne-le-Laus, a humble 17th-century shepherdess named Benoîte Rencurel (1647–1718) experienced something extraordinary. While best known for the long series of approved Marian apparitions (Our Lady of Laus, recognized by the Church in 2008), Benoîte was also granted profound visions of Jesus Christ Himself. Between 1669 and 1679, she received five visions of the suffering, crucified Jesus. In one powerful encounter on a Friday in July 1673, at the Cross of Avançon, the bloodstained Savior appeared to her and said: “My daughter, I show Myself to you in this condition so that you may participate in the sorrows of My Passion.” These visions ignited a deep love in Benoîte's heart. From that moment, she began experiencing a mystical union with Christ's Passion—every Thursday evening through Saturday morning for 15 years (with a brief interruption), she suffered the pains of the Crucifixion in her body, offering it all for sinners and conversions. Angels adored at the foot of the Cross in silence during these moments, and the visions filled her with joy amid suffering. Our Lord explained that what she saw was to reveal the immense love He bore for humanity and the price paid for our redemption. Benoîte's life became one of constant prayer, penance, and service at the sanctuary—guiding countless pilgrims to confession and Eucharistic adoration, just as Mary had asked. Her tomb lies before the main altar in the Basilica of Our Lady of Laus today. Our Lady of Laus, Refuge of Sinners, pray for us. Amen!"
