Glenn do you know if there exists on the web a copy of the video of the miraculous Eucharist being received? All I have found are stills.

Also, I am still on the fence about Garabandal. There are things that seem to detract from it like "Joey's new eyes" and the priest who was not incorrupt when his body was disinterred, but there is one thing that won't let me close the door on it and that's Conchita. I cannot believe she was trying to deceive people. In all of the videos I have seen and in all I have read about her she oozes humility. She is probably the only visionary alive in the world that I would love to meet. In the end it is possible it was a diabolical intrusion of some sort or it may be genuine, but I am as sure as I can be it is not a fraud.

This has also been the thing that keeps me from totally discounting Garabandal: Conchita and the other seers come across as obedient and humble. Joey also had these qualities.

Sometimes I think to myself that maybe Heaven wanted a certain amount of ambiguity and mystery to this particular apparition in order to keep us guessing and to keep the rest of the secular world disinterested until the moment of the Warning. If the Warning is in fact a "mini-last judgement" then it would make sense for it to come when least expected by both faithful and pagans alike.

See, the thing about Garabandal is that just when you are ready to discount it, it has certain qualities that draw you back in. I don't think there has ever been an apparition quite like it, and for these reasons I hold out hope that it is true, but at the same time maintain a certain level of skepticism.

 

When one can see the little sins...that means they are on the right path. As we get spiritually stronger, its easy to stop the major sins, its the little sins that hold us back.

 

Sometimes I wonder if the reluctance of the church to approve Garabandal was mainly to conceal one of the best proofs of its authenticity. Those innocent girls from a very very Catholic village were told that many cardinals, bishops and priests were heading to hell and taking others with them. They had to convey this to their priest and bishop. And so we were forewarned about the child abuse and cover up that was being perpetrated by clergy and would soon be splattered across the media. Without being crude The Church was caught with its pants down and panicked in utter shame and fear of exposure. It brought the shutters down because it could not face the truth. And of course the authenticity of this Garabandal revelation was confirmed in all its disgusting detail in following law suits. When St Bernadette reported back the name "Immaculate Conception" she did not know what that meant. Her very ignorance confirmed the authenticity of the revelation. Just so the seers of Garabandal were asked to share things that would not have been known to simple country girls.

 

From what I understand, the body of the priest is to be found incorrupt after the miracle.
I don't get why many have issues with it being corrupt now. The miracle hasn't happened yet.

Joe you bring up a very valid point that no one wants to ever discuss ,which is the Bishops are "called out " by Mary on June 18,1965 " Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them." This public loss of respect definitely was a factor in their reluctance to approve a "self condeming " apparition.

Fr. Luis Andreu's corrupted body in NO WAY invalidates the prediction, why ? Conchita, in a letter dated August 2, 1964, wrote this to Father Ramon Andreu (his brother) “On July 18 (1964), I had a locution in which I was told that on the day after the miracle your brother (Fr. Luis Andreu) would be removed from his grave and his body would be intact.” SO infact , the Blessed Mother said it would be " THE DAY AFTER THE MIRACLE ", NOT BEFORE ! The prophecy is still valid until then.

Consider this too, now that we know his body decayed, how much more of a greater miracle will it be when he is found incorrupt the day after the Miracle ?

 

One of my favorite stories of her humility.
For a time, while she was at her house in Fatima, she went daily to an older priest’s residence to volunteer as a cleaning lady. As on other occasions, she went there using the name of Maria, in order not to be recognized. However, one day someone recognized her and immediately all the resident priests knew that the woman who swept the floors of their residence was Conchita of Garabandal. From then on, nothing was the same. Conchita told me that when the priests discovered who she was, they changed the way they treated her. She said she was sorry that they had found out who she was because she felt better serving those elderly priests anonymously. I have never met anyone quite like her.

While I appreciate SpiritDaily.com compiling Catholic articles of interest, I think that selling "special reports" with providing a few paragraphs of tantalizing info and then requiring payment to read the rest is rather smarmy. I consider it a bit of prostitution on Catholic matters of interest.

 

We know that all those present will be healed. I believe the corrupt-->incorrupt miracle will be part of the Miracle's impact in showing that God heals all things in all manner.

 

Nothing bad about Michael Brown. But: The seers of Garabandal never made money out of the visits from Our Lady. In mine opinion that’s the way how God works. Not by paying per view!

 

I'd say it was the ranks of the Freemasons within the Church. An infiltration. The Mayor in Bernadette's case, and who knows in Garabandal's case? I LOVE GARABANDAL. Totally believe in it and am awaiting the miracle for all humanity! Praise God for those who persevere!

 

I too love Garabandal and believe, period. Also love Michael Brown's site. BUT, it irks me to read anyone write, let alone a Catholic writer, that in Garabandal the girls "walked backwards" when what they actually did was stay facing our Lord by not turning their backs on Him, which is clearly NOT diabolical, it's just the opposite and something we should meditate on.

 

Sure, in church they most certainly and fittingly, reverently and devoutly refrained from turning their backs on the Tabernacle. There is plenty of evidence however that the girls walked backwards in ecstacy at other times not looking where they were going and their eyes fixed on heaven. They depended completely on Mary to guide their feet through the steep, rocky and slippery roads of the village even in the dark. Have you never watched the cine films? As you suggest this walking backwards has been used to accuse the girls of devilry but is in fact evidence of the supernatural. It cannot be explained by natural reason and is found within the context of prayer and goodness. Just as Mary carried the girls, so the girls and we have been asked to carry Her message in all conditions, night and day, calm and storm. She will guide our feet just as she guided the feet of the girls she chose to first transmit her messages to the world. We will need Her to survive the time before Warning and the Warning itself. We will need Her to guide us safely to the village for the Great Miracle. The way She guided the feet of the girls safely and surely as they walked backwards in the dark serves a a reassurance of the care and protection we will find under Her Mantle and under Her guidance. And rest assured the times ahead will be darker than we can imagine before we see the light of God's love. The girls have left us in no doubt about that after the two nights of screams when they were shown the terrible time that awaits us.

 

Thanks for your post Joe, I was going to add "with their eyes fixed on heaven" for the other occasions of walking backwards, but had a doubt because it's been a long time since I viewed the films on Garabandal. It seems important to add where they were looking when walking unnaturally because it adds weight to the argument that it's from the divine.

But as they say, we who believe don't need the proof, but for those who don't, no amount of proof will suffice.
