Have it checked out. I had a dreadful speeding heart years ago and it was a mitral valve problem. It resolved itself. Agnes mentioned anxiety. That can also cause it. Be sure to have an MD check it out.
Good on you Agnes. It is not easy. You are a great example for all of us. I will pray for your daughter's soul and her children.
I too suffer with great feelings of abandonment, arridity, spiritual numbness etc. Now I know this video is AI but it very much gives the gist of a deplorable challenge - that of denying Jesus (as Peter the apostle had done) or suffering martrydom by drowning. And meditating on this theme helps me a lot. If I really enter into the reality of such a choice, I come out in a sweat at the thoughts of suffering death by drowning. But I equally see the despair of living after having denied Jesus Christ. When I emerge from the stupor of this desperate meditation, no effort to pray through arridity, to sacrifice, to do acts of charity, to bear pains, depression etc. seem too large to bear. I am most willing to bear and undergo anything God sends me, happy in the knowledge that I have not been tested with such martyrdom and found wanting in my response. There but for the mercy of God go I.
Sorry, just seeing this Agnes. I will offer up Sunday Mass for your daughter's soul. You are courageous and Im sure these past 2 years have been a big cross for you. I will pray the Lord send you angels to comfort you. Peace
Such kindness, thank you! God is softening my rough edges slowly....prayers returned.... when we ask for prayers, it's a humbling experience,. But I do believe God wants us to ask for help. Thanks again
It is a huge cross to lose an adult child. It is a pain that never goes away. I will bring you and your intentions to Mass tomorrow Agnes.
This is so tough on a parent. I am sure it is traumatizing.. will offer prayers, rosary and Mass for this intention Agnes.
I've had heart palpitations for years. Caused by my thyroid disease . . .some of the things that dissipate it are NO caffeine. Even chocolate can get them going. And cold water! and icecubes can get it going. So I used to be very worried about them. Even wore a heart monitor and it came back with heart palpitations and tachychardia. So, now I just get so I ignore them and all the alarms the docs give about them. If I die, I die . . .if I can't sleep, I just go to the recliner chair and eventually I fall asleep. So, that's how I deal with it.
Sorry for the pain of this cross for you Anne... you are a great witness to faith and trust. Keeping you in my prayers. Peace
Our holy summer visiting priest from Ghana gave another powerful homily this morning and i thought it worthwhile sharing. The Gospel today talked about when one finds a treasure he/she does everything to get it. Father said their are 4 types of treasure: 1) Pleasure- the good things of life. In and of themselves they are good gifts but they quickly fade 2) Achievements- again in and of themselves are fine but these too will eventually lose their luster 3) Sharing our treasures- a higher form of possessing "treasure" because we begin to understand treasure is really from God 4) The ultimate treasure is our realization of our need to be in union with God... he is our treasure. He is our treasure no matter our circumstances in this life. This treasure resides within our hearts and it will never fade or decay. He closed by reciting the poem, "The Weaver". He said we are like little children and we sit under the tapestry so we only see the underside of threads. We may see black threads in those moments of suffering. But when seen from above- from God- the Weaver/ these too make up the beauty of the tapestry He is making in our lives. God is Good!
Thank you!! You are also in my prayers.. and your son. I know we will all be together again. Some names stay with me, from even months ago for intentions, yet I can't find my keys half the time or my medicine most of the time. Thankful for that.
