I got this messsage about an Irish priest who has been dumped by his Bishop for telling the truth.

'Forwarded:All, you may know about Fr Larkin of Bird Ave, Clonskeagh. If not, the synopsis is that on the Sunday after the referendum, Fr Larkin spoke firmly but respectfully & told his congregation that if they had voted yes, they needed to be sorry for it & confess it before being in the state of grace required before presenting themselves for Communion. Someone complained. Fr Larkin is being removed from parish duties & moved to Rathfarnham where he will be carrying out duties for the Loreto nuns. His last Mass in Bird Ave is at 10am tomorrow (Fri 13/7/2018). If you could attend & show your support for his pro-life position it would be great. Susan, a Lovely canvasser & a Bird Ave parishioner, is heartbroken at his being moved from her parish. He needs to know that we value his pro-life position - contact the Archbishop too if you can, thanks.'

Chilling! And a warning to others who prove to be so straight forward.:( But crosses borne with good cheer will actually produce more conversions which then backfire on the bishop who chose to exile Fr. Larkin.:D After all, St. Athanasius was exiled multiple times. Him we sainted; not so those who exiled him. :ROFLMAO:

    Safe Under Mary's Mantle!

So in essence we have reached the point where a Catholic priest has been exiled for...teaching the faith.

Rome (the Catholic Church) has lost the faith :(

The thing is when the other priests see what happens to someone who preaches the Gospel they might be a lot slower to preach it themselves.

Must remember to pray for our poor priests and Bishops.

Must remember to pray, must remember to pray, must remember to pray.....

The priests who say our Latin Mass on Sunday are very good . Some of them quite outspoken. I worry about them sometimes. The Bishop here is an Arch Liberal, he could close down our mass in a heart beat. It just takes one person to complain....

So difficult and dangerous being an honest priest who preaches the Gospel these days.

One or two of the younger priests are very outspoken indeed. I love this; but I do worry sometimes...

There is no need to worry, what is happening now is in the permissive will of God.

The consequences these priests will pay is the price of TRUTH which can never be compromised. These priests are likely aware that they will surely suffer for their courage in proclaiming the truth... a very worthwhile suffering indeed that will surely bear fruit.

    God Bless

Yes, I think I would rather the Bishop banned the mass than that the priests should stop procaliming the Gospel. I suppose it is the price you pay for the Truth.

    Sacked for telling the Truth

God bless him all his remaining days. I am adding him especially to my prayers.

Satan, and the people who work for him, must be very nervous. The soft persecution is not hidden but blatant. The bishop should be "moved" not the priest.

Are these bishops not afraid of standing in front of the throne of God? I am and I hold no authority.

I remebr when I was young the priests used to hit pretty hard and say what they liked. It was always heterorthodx, but very hard hitting. How I wish we could go back to those days. But people would complain to the Bishop like crazy and the poor priests would find themselves taking up residence on the Dark Side of the Moon. People generally are very apt to complain these days. There are a constant strem of people taking medical suits against the hospitals. I don't envy priests.

They must be afraid to blink sometimes..and then with the child abuse thing....

I was looking at a young priest recntly and suddenly I saw in prayer that God is to take him home to heaven soon. I looked at him sadly thinking how mysterious are the ways of God and hoping it was just my imagination. But just at that moment he loooked up from the altar and looked in my eyes directly. I took this as a Sign. I think in our hearts we all know our death days. or rebirth days. I noticed during the mass how happy he seemed. I guess in his heart he knows himself that the call has gone out to summon him back to heaven and he is filled with joy to be going..
