After reading the recent Luz de Maria message from October 25th, which I shared with family members, one of the boys asked if it was wrong then to go 'trick or treating'. Was not sure how to answer this question in light of the message given as follows. What do you think? I'm glad you brought this up Fatima. I struggled with it too, especially since one of my children was invited to a friend's house for a fun Halloween party and we had no other legitimate plans made that I could use to turn it down. But my conscience would not let me allow them to participate in anything, not even the disguise & candy-getting activities this year, despite their asking repeatedly "what's wrong with just trick-or-treating?". I just don't want any part in it so we decided to take everyone out to dinner tonight, which will get us out of the house during the trick-or-treat hours too. And during family prayer, I'll have a special intention for Our Lord in reparation. In this article an ex-satanist makes similar claims as in the Luz de Maria message about bringing evil into homes. He also says they used to curse children's costumes: "You know those Halloween stores that pop up every fall? We would curse the costumes children would get from them — even the costumes that weren’t grotesque. Parents thought all was well, but we knew they were paying to have their children step into a world of darkness. People make their homes look like haunted cemeteries. … This invites evil spirits inside. It’s really simple: If you want to attract evil, you put up depictions of evil. If you want to attract good, you put up depictions of good. Every Catholic, then, should have Catholic art in his home." Some parishes are offering alternative parties where kids come dressed as angels, Saints, etc. That seems like the way to go for us Christians.
I know when I lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the 90's there was discovered 18 skinned cats in the dumpster behind the prison in another town. The answer in the letter is pure and simple: No. We are not to participate in any way, in what is a "festival" donated to satan, and offensive against the Divine Will. To send children out in it amounts to the worst kind of child endangerment. The world doesn't recognize that, but we should, we have the spiritual information. How many of us would have always said, "Well, I did it and it didn't hurt me". Really?

God says, therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord. Historically, for thousands of years Oct 31 has been a high occult day. It is written the ancient Druids celebrated Oct 31 as one of their high days. It is the highest and most important day in witchcraft and Satanism. The level of occult energy cast on this day is enormous. Sacrifice occurs in rituals on this day. The blessed sacrament under goes tremendous sacrilege in black masses, especially this day. So, I ask myself, would Mary take her son Jesus trick or treating on a day of blasphemy to the Holy Trinity. I say the answer is no. So, my family has decided not to participate in trick or treating. Instead, we should offer up prayers in reparation for the sacrilege done against God the Father, and especially his son Jesus Christ. I John 3:8: The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. If we allow our children to dress up as the denizens of hell ie witches, demons, skeletons, and other characters, what message do we send them. From experience, a small crack is all it takes for a person to become enslaved by the occult. After his usual little joke - just before his homily our parish priest said "Today is All Black's day, I mean All Saints day," - he told how he had responded to some boys who were trick or treating. They had first asked him for candy but when he explained he had none the boys offered him some of theirs. Our priest politely declined. He said to us 'this was the trap.' He then explained the true origin of Hallows Eve. Then he addressed the head master of our school and suggested that next year the children should go out dressed like their favourite saints.
I would be interested in seeing what Peter B. thinks of this message. I don't have a problem with our Lady speaking about the diabolical use of the 31st of October and the glorification of evil/satan. It is a fact. 2nd most celebrated day besides Christmas. 2nd most lucrative in the $ sense too. Its BIG business in the U.S. Not to mention the abortions offered up to satan minute by minute everywhere by satanists. We NEED to counteract it and pray like crazy! But this woman is from South/Central America. Not the U.S. where it is widely celebrated as Halloween. I know Mexico and other southern nations have their 'day of the dead' which has been hijacked by satanists/witch-doctors/voodoo shamans etc. Is the 'translation' Halloween or 'day of the dead'?
Yesterday I made myself a bracelet of chain and put it on my left wrist and became a slave of Mary. I'd done it before years ago while consecrating myself, but my bracelet broke after many years. Never did replace it. After reading this message I decided its time again. I consecrate myself every Tuesday and so made myself another chain. Its an 'outward' sign. Many priests in my Diocese wear one. Young priests dedicated to our Lady! It was St. Louis-Marie de Montfort who expressed the meaning behind the symbol of “slave”: No other human state involves belonging more completely to another than slavery. Among Christian peoples, nothing makes a person belong more completely to Jesus and his holy Mother than voluntary slavery. Our Lord himself gave us the example of this when out of love for us he “took the form of a slave”. Our Lady gave us the same example when she called herself the handmaid or slave of the Lord. The Apostle considered it an honor to be called “slave of Christ”. Several times in Holy Scripture, Christians are referred to as “slaves of Christ”. The Latin word “servus” at one time signified only a slave because servants as we know them did not exist. Masters were served either by slaves or by freedmen. […] That we must belong to Jesus and serve him not just as hired servants but as willing slaves who, moved by generous love, commit themselves to his service after the manner of slaves for the honour of belonging to him.
