I always enter the dilemma if we could consider St Stanislus (April 11) a young martyr since he died at the age of 48, certainly for the current life expectancy pattern he is considered young, but in the 11th century he lived that age he could already be considered advanced due to the living conditions of the time. I think we could also consider what life expectancy in Spain was in the decade of the apparitions.
Sorry cant be him, he was Bishop of Cracow 49 YEARS OLD, thats not young is anyone's mind regarding prophecy.
If you don't do it already, start the new year off right with a great and beneficial devotion, THE MORNING OFFERING PRAYER ! Our Blessed Mother said in Garabandal on October 18th, 1961, "We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first, we must lead good lives. " In 1945 Jesus told Lucia, the seer of Fatima, "The sacrifice and penance I now seek and require is the fulfillment of your state in life and the observance of my laws." Whatever your state in life may be you can sanctify all your daily actions if upon arising you recite sincerely the morning offering prayer. Through the "Morning Offering of Reparation" every act you do becomes a sacrifice. The word "sacrifice" means to make "holy." Once you have made your morning offering you make "holy" every act you do throughout the day. Whatever trial God permits to pass your way during the day becomes a penance — whether it be work, bad weather, rebellious children, sickness in the family, tight economic conditions or misunderstandings by relatives or friends. All these sacrifices and penances obtain graces the Blessed Virgin needs for the conversion of sinners. Padre Pio said it best, "If you knew the value of suffering, you wouldn't give it up."
Hey Mat, Two possible problems with St. Hermenegild, who by some accounts was Spanish, and Conchita said the martyr saint was not Spanish. We have no idea how old he was, though he was a grown, married man leading a revolt, so it would not have been clear to her that this was "a young martyr of the Eucharist" and also he does not fit the description Conchita gave after she consulted the calendar in her home.
JANUARY 1, 1965: CONCHITA'S IMPRESSIVE AND UNEXPECTED ECSTASY AT THE PINES: THE BLESSED VIRGIN OF MOUNT CARMEL REVEALS TO HER THE FUTURE "AVISO" . . . On this "first Friday of the month," Feast also of the Octave of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Conchita at the Pines. The apparition, not previously announced to her during the preceding locution of December 8, lasted two hours, and unfolded in great discretion: two small shepherd lads, a little boy and a little girl, coming down the mountain with their sheep, were, in effect, the only witnesses of the ecstasy. On the same day, Conchita would reveal to Maximina the nature of her ecstasy, which bore mainly on the future Aviso. Still unpublished today, here is the very first reported written text by the visionary herself, a letter she was to send to Joey Lomangino on May 28, 1965: "The world is always carrying on the same way, if not worse. Few paid attention to the Message (the first one, October 18, 1961). My Son will have to give another one, and this will be the last one. After June 18 (1965) and before the Miracle, there will come a "disaster" from heaven, it will be an "Aviso" for the world to amend its ways. If, with this trial and the Miracle, Humanity does not change, the Chastisement will fall on us and the end of the times will also come. The "disaster," as she told me, is horrible, the kind we deserve. The Blessed Virgin also told me that we must not grieve over the material sufferings of the "chastisement" that we ourselves will have brought about because of our sins committed against her Son. These are the last avisos (warnings), and we must derive benefit from them. She told me again that the world believes there is a Heaven and a hell, but we do not think that we will have to go to the one or the other. Humanity thinks only about the present life (. . .)" The girls, especially Conchita, used several similar expressions to designate the future Warning: "trial," "a most powerful shock," "catastrophe," "disaster," "purification," "correction of the moral conscience of the world" . . . These different terms and expressions were, in fact, referring not only to the physical impact and cosmic dimension of the Aviso, but also to its interior moral and spiritual dimension, both of them to be experienced by all human persons, being Christian or not, and even by those not believing in God, the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel even revealing to Conchita the very name of that future Warning during this same January 1, 1965: "It begins with the letter "A": neither "astra" (meaning a heavenly body), nor "asteroid": could it not be the word "absinth" or "Wormwood" (Rev. 8:10-11), "Ajenjo" in Spanish (so much so since Conchita will say eventually that "the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel did tell me the name . . . in Spanish), which name I saw in the dictionary, but not understanding its meaning there!" [From 'Garabandal' Book, page 186] ps. I asked Conchita what this "A" word is, and she doesn't remember from her childhood, sorry.
I’ve printed this out years ago and taped it to my mirror....8x10 so I don’t miss it! It helps me to remember to say it each day.
Today I read an insightful little book entitled "I Heard God Laugh" (2020) which is authored by Matthew Kelly. The title of the book is itself notably clever, profound, and thought-provoking. In addition to teaching the reader how to pray, the content challenges any preexisting inferences or notions which may have been acquired from either childhood socialization or subsequent life experiences regarding the (possibly serious, stoic, or undemonstrative) character of God. However, it also inclined me to ponder whether the young visionaries mentioned that Our Lady of Garabandal ever expressed a warm and enchanting laugh. It would seem reasonable to speculate that - over the course of innumerable apparitions - at least one comical topic or incident must have arisen. Admittedly, I'm aware that she routinely smiled... but, did she ever actually laugh at any time during an apparition? At any rate, this is merely a curious thought.

Yes ! Here's one example. On December 13, 1961, Conchita wrote in a letter to the pastor of Barro, Father José Ramón García de la Riva: The day of the Immaculate Conception (Dec.8 ), the Virgin came to wish me good name day. ( happy feast day ) She had already said that she would come and when she came she was smiling and laughing a lot. The first thing she said was: "Happy name day”. Hi Glenn can you ask Conchita if the miracle is in an even or odd year when you next speak to her? I dont think she would be revealing anything about the date the same as Mari Loli about the warning year, you can email me her response if you wish, thanks
Sorry I can not do that. That's how I've been able to remain close friends with her for 3 decades, by respecting her , and not asking questions like that, that she won't answer anyhow.

CONCHITA’S PRAYER—JANUARY 1, 1967 Mother, I pray that this new year That I not be vain. I ask you also for sincerity, gratitude and Love for You. Lord, this is what I ask of you this year: Give me the spirit of sacrifice, of prayer. Let me receive Communion with more fervor, And visit the Blessed Sacrament more often. Forgive me, Lord. Thank you for all of the good that you have given us. Thank you for all of the good that you have given my family and Forgive us for not always doing what you ask. Lord, thank you for this new year and forgive me for last year. Lord, I pray for all those whom you have commended to me. Above all for those who need you most. Lord, I also pray for the souls in Purgatory. I pray for all of the sick. For those who spread the message; And for those who don’t want to know anything about the message. I pray for everyone. I also pray for those who write to me now, And for all who have written to me telling me about their needs. Lord, I tell You about them, Although I cannot tell you about all of them, Lord, you already know. Mother, listen to all of us, Tell your Son And help and give them what they pray for, If it is for your greater glory and Jesus' And for the good of our souls. Lord, forgive those you have entrusted to me. Lord, I pray so that your message will spread more and more And that all who spread the message Will do it for You. Lord, thank you for them. Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Hail, Mary Most Pure, Conceived without sin. Amen.
