Please pray for, Laura, a parishioner here at St. Anne, Mother of Mary in Mexico, NY. Her faithful and very prayerful husband, Jose, approached me. I told him that I could bring her Holy Communion this afternoon, but Jose stated she might not make it through this week (she's been battling cancer a long time). Though my pastor's overseas, I called my former pastor and he was able to stop by today, anoint her and give her Holy Communion. Jose was so precious: "Laura and I have been married for 60 years! What will I do without her! " The two shall be one! Please pray for both Laura and Jose!
What a wonderful grace to receive the anointing and Viaticum. I hope she was also able to confess too. She is well prepared. But, my prayers are still being said for her and Jose.
This chokes me up, specially for Jose! Have prayed a Hail Mary for them both, may Jose be comforted by Mary who also lost a spouse.
miker, Fr. Schultz would not have let such an opportunity pass! Thank you for your prayers. James 5: 14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
