Prayers. The World has gone insane. At Mass this morning 90% of the people were not wearing masks. This made me so happy. It did not make our Parish Priest Happy. At Communion he wore his mask and announced to all and sundry that we could only receive Communion on the hands because of the virus. This was the first time he ever did this. A rebuke to unmasked. It reminded of the Frank Sinatra song. , 'And then you had to go and spoil it all by saying something stupid...'
I went to receive this morning. I asked the eucharistic minister could I receive on the tongue and she said, of course. I was delighted. Thankfully, no one wears masks at mass here anymore. Tho that could change if the MSM starts their oul carry-on again..
I wish my Parish Priest would preach a Sermon like this. But he's too busy being afraid of the dreaded virus. He's just about the only guy in the City running round with a mask on all day.

Yes... I think many of us here on MOG have realised that there is something afoot. But, similarly, it does little good to get bogged-down in it. Many of us too have learned that it does even less good [for us] to bicker here over the intricacies of it all. This is to our great credit, for there are many strong personalities and characters herein. It should be noted however that this realisation didn't come about easily. For a time, there was much bickering here. This must be a disappointment to the evil one.
Has anyone come across a report that Lysine is effective against the virus? I read something about it a while ago and can't remember where I read it. I think that there was a study in some small country, possibly in Latin America, that had good results. I don't know whether the lycine used in the study is the same L-lysine that I take if I feel the onset of a cold sore. Maybe not because the L-lysine is sold over the counter and, according to the report, the dosage of lysine depended on the person's body weight. Please, don't take what I'm saying here as some great revelation because I may have completely misunderstood what I read. I just wondered if anyone here had heard anything about it.
Someone on the forum awhile ago mentioned taking it to ward off shingles. It must have some anti herpes virus components. I can't remember who mentioned it however.
I heard about some studies on the effectiveness of Lysine on the virus, and as I recall it sounded promising. I conducted my own personal experiment, and I took Lysine a few weeks ago when everyone in the house had very bad colds. My cold was quite mild in comparison, and was gone in three days. My family members who did not take the Lysine, had bad coughs that lingered for two weeks. Of course I have no idea if I was just lucky, or if the Lysine really helped me. If I got Covid I would certainly give it a try.

That's the study I was referring to. I only take a lysine pill when I get that itchy warning that a cold sore is about to appear. The lysine stops it in its tracks and I don't need to use the zovirax cream. It was from this forum that I learned about L-lysine for cold sores. During the height of the pandemic scare, I had been diligently taking vitamin D, C, zinc etc. but had slackened off once all the hype died down. Then I spent hours over two days with someone who we thought had a bad cold. I was in a car with him on both days. He took a covid test the next day and the test was positive. I wasn't infected. I had taken lysine to prevent a cold sore the day before and the two days I was in his company. I did use Xlear nasal spray but that was after I heard he had covid. So, maybe I was just lucky or maybe the lysine made the difference for me. I was pleased to read that lysine can lower cholesterol because I have high cholesterol. Think I'll start taking it daily. I just saw this thread. I’m so glad to read about lysine. My brother took it for years for cold sores. Going to the pharmacy today. I think I’ll take it daily as a preventative.

If you are in the US Rosalia, you can get good prices from online supplement shops like iherb.com. I've found it in the US in some pharmacies and some compouding pharmacies can make them cheaper than the brand names. I am surprised that they say lysine works for this virus, as I had always understood it works for the herpes family only. Some say that lysine should be taken with arginine so maybe look for something that has that combination? They compete with one another apparently and they say one fights viruses (lysine) and the other fights bacteria (arginine). I find that supplements are a bit of a headache now because many companies produce crap or have harmful additives or worse are sourced in Ch1na, so God only knows what is in there. And just this morning I read an article about pharma companies buying out supplement companies. I used to buy NOW, Natural Factors, Thorne in the past, but read the ingredients for additives too. Some doctors claim to sell better quality products (eg Mercola) but for some items, it seems the price goes up but not necessarily the quality. All of these good elements like lysine etc are supposed to be in our food, so another angle is to look into getting various foods from trusted sources?
