Both are in their early 80s. Devout Catholic. Had three children, two of whom committed suicide years ago. Their one living "child" resides in Virginia, IIRC. This morning we're told Alice is in hospice. Daughter is flying home. Victor now faces the dilemma of staying here alone, age 83 (?), or moving across the country to live with or near daughter. It's especially tragic that their youngest son committed suicide in 2003; he was a successful business owner and lived in this town, could've been an enormous help at this time.
