God has been gracious to us here east of Lake Ontario: a mild fall with no snow. And on Wednesday, Geralyn and I will travel down to Pennsylvania to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter, Therese, and her family. But when we return on Friday, we'll be in the midst of a predicted 6-day stretch of 3" of snow/day. We shall see! Such a rude awakening to greet the start of winter! Daniel 3:45 ...Bless the Lord, winter cold and summer heat, sing praise to him and highly exalt him for ever. 46 Bless the Lord, dews and snows, sing praise to him and highly exalt him for ever.
A cold dreary rain this morning, but thank you Jesus for the rain after this awful drought! Praise God!
dreary here in NE Indiana. We are supposed to be going down into the 'teens next week, so bringing in wood for the woodstove!
Fortunately, one of my fellow parishioners, who lives but 3 miles from my home, harvests and sells cut and split wood at a reasonable price per face-cord. I store it in the barn as early in the year as possible so it is dry and well seasoned. We've begun to burn in just the last week, and now with a predicted eight day stretch of snow and sub-freezing temps coming up, we'll be into our winter routine for sure. Thanksgiving is dovetailing immediately into winter! Advent is upon us this coming weekend!
