    That might be.

In any case it seems like only Divine intervention can sort things out in the new bizarro church.

Burst bubbles away Julia. I believe Sister Lucia was talking in terms of avoiding the Chastisements, rather than in terms personal Salvation; of getting to heaven; two very, very different propositions.

So that bubble still floats up there. Unburst. :)

Exactly. This is a major MAJOR difference.

Sister Lucy would never deny personal accountability.

    She was shown hell!

I joined the SSPX last year. We moved to a town where the SSPX runs a school which is essentially the only true Catholic school in the country, so our son can attend a good school. In this small town here, only the SSPX offer the TLM, so we left the FSSP where we went to in our previous city and joined the SSPX. The sacraments offered by the SSPX are valid, confirmed by the Vatican.

Yes, as I recall, Pope Francis himself has said that he may go down in history as the Pope who caused a schism.

Yes, the Pope is it. He is the Pontifex Maximus.
But the question is, who is the Pope? We've all talked about this extensively, I know, it is not my intention to annoy. However, the Pope question won't go away, it is becoming more and more relevant.
I accept Pope Francis because the Holy Catholic Church accepts him as Pope. But I have a strong mental reservation to the effect that Pope em. Benedict could be the Holy Father.
I hope these evil times will not cause animosity on this beloved forum. The questions are tough, and answers are hard to find, and we may disagree. But I hope we can all stay kind and friendly.

I think we are caught in a catch 22, at the moment.

We are to obey now, Yes! But only unto the restrainer is removed.

What the restrainer is I don't know, but some Catholic theologians believe the restrainer is the Pope! and when the restrainer is removed than all hell will break loose, I remember reading that some theologians say that Emeritus Pope Benedict is the restrainer!

I believe a time will come when obedience to Catholic truth is what will be required and there will be nil authority available for one to assent obedience to!

In scripture we read that the restrainer will be removed and than the evil one will appear openly !
I believe this is the time that Catholics will have only the rosary and the sign left by her son ( Our Lady words ) as reference to.

    Thessalonians Chapter 2: 1-12

1We ask you, brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling with him,
2not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a “spirit,” or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.
3Let no one deceive you in any way. For unless the apostasy comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one doomed to perdition,
4 the Enemy, who raises himself above every so-called god and object of worship to enthrone himself in God's sanctuary and flaunts the claim that he is God.
5 Surely you remember my telling you about this when I was with you?
6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. But the one who restrains is to do so only for the present, until he is removed from the scene.
8 and the wicked One will appear openly. The Lord will destroy him with the breath of his mouth and will annihilate him with his glorious appearance at his coming.

9 But the coming of the wicked One will be marked by satan being at work in all kinds of counterfeit miracles and signs and wonders,
10 and every wicked deception aimed at those who are on the way to destruction because they would not accept the love of the truth and so be saved.
11 And therefore God sends on them a power that deludes people so that they believe what is false,
12 and so that those who do not believe the truth and take their pleasure in wickedness may all be condemned.

Well I suppose we're landed with him.

I read one thing I was thought was true and insightful. ..that in past as lay people we never had to concern ourselves in high matters like this, After all we had no degrees in theology or philosophy, we had not training in Liturgy or Canon Law and we had our own lives to get on with.

So we trusted our leaders, the Vatican and our Holy Father the Pope, took what they had to say entirely on trust. Which always worked out just fine.

But then we ended up like people on a plane which suddenly headed up behaving very strangely and began to realise it was speeding off who knows where, who knows why hi jacked and out of control. But since we aren't trained pilots ourselves we just have to pray and hope that our new pilot is not planning to drive us all into the side of a sky scraper.

All we know it that the plane is totally out of control and we are not the last bit sure about the pilot's sanity..

That’s the illustration for the Flight 93 crash, which incidentally happened 15 miles from where I was at the time.

The passengers most definitely did NOT remain passive in the face of their plight.

They KNEW the plane had been hijacked and they KNEW it was going to be used as a massive missile against some valuable US government landmark, so they took action to prevent that. Even though they suspected it might cost them their lives, they took action. It didn’t save their lives, but it did spare the lives of many on the ground and the US government landmarks where the hijackers were taking the plane.

So your choice of that illustration was not a simple coincidence.

We KNOW the barque of Peter has been hijacked and it’s deliberately being sailed toward a deadly massive waterfall, just like the circumstances of Flight 93.

Many of our fellow passengers, however, don’t have a clue our barque is in peril, and are sleeping, or enjoying the ride. And we don’t have any earthly captain or trained pilot to come save us.

What are we going to do with that knowledge? Shouldn’t we at least try to alert our fellow sleeping or unaware passengers to our peril?

Excellent point. We must stand up for Truth and be active. There are groups who are rising. You know what I’ve discerned and have been led to do. I stand ready and am prepared to actively support and protect any of our persecuted faithful including our clergy

I would tend to think, spiritually less in terms of, 'What am I going to do?' than in terms of , 'What is the Good Lorn and the Blessed Virgin calling me to do?'

Well, as she has said at numerous apparition sites, prayer and fasting, doing all the things good Catholics have been called to do. Since she asked me to set up this forum many years ago I suppose it was for times like these to assist people. My fellow Catholic sisters and brothers.

Do I feel Our Lady and her Son calling me to do anything else at the moment? Well, no.

For myself this is a time of waiting and watching in prayer , storing these thing in our heart as Mary did. If Our Lady calls me to do anything else I will. Otherwise watch and wait and pray.:)

If I were a Cardinal or a Bishop perhaps Our Lady might say something different. :)

Watch and pray. ..and I am perfectly at ease with this.

Exactly. That’s more than just praying and fasting. That’s being aware of what’s going on and being that man on the watchtower, warning the faithful of what’s coming. That’s acting.

Ezekiel 3:17-19 ESV / “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

Ezekiel 33:6 ESV / But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.

I don't want to seem too negative or depressing about all this. There are very positive signs, though we maybe have to stare a little hard to see them.:)

For instance in the USA numerous Catholic Bishops are resisting attempts to shut them down for resisting giving the Eucharist to apologists for mass unborn baby murderers. This despite the best attempts of the Vatican to shut them up.

Perhaps the sleeping giant is awakening.
