Man proposes, God disposes. We will see.
could this represent a reform of Paul VI's own Missal?
And if that comes to pass, will it still be a valid mass? Many things to consider here…
But padraig is right, time to step back from this horrific prospect and let God sort it out.
Correct. And continuing to do what is intrinsically right and good can never be, at the same moment, wrong and bad no matter a person’s opinion. I plan on worshiping the Good Lord of Heaven and Earth the way His Bride, Holy Mother Church has done all these past centuries because this is the way God has never disallowed.
We too have Institute of Christ the King in Limerick. I don't go there all the time but always get confession there. The priests there are so devout. I too will be gutted if they are forced to close. There is nothing we can really do except pray
I feel especially for the priests and seminarians. it will be a huge test of their Faith.
But also for people who have been converted through the old ways. There have been a huge number of conversions, especially amongst the young. I believe far more young people go to the old mass than the 1960's one. It will be a blow at the very heart of the Church.
I wonder if this was why my poor priest was sighing in the Confessional this last while?
The poor man.
This is a huge, huge Cross, I feel bowed down, For myself , it's true. But so much more for others.
We are made to drink the chalice of bitterness,
On account of our many, many sins.
Let us turn to the Mother of Sorrows for relief and deliverance.
A miraculous deliverance.
What a great Cross!
This is one of my favorite images of Her!
But...it is wrong to disobey, even if what you're doing is intrinsically good, right? If the Pope forbids the TLM and we go anyway, instead of going to the Novus Ordo, wouldn't that be a sin? The disobedience?
However, I really don't think Pope Francis is going to forbid the TLM altogether. If it's just going to be requiring priests to have special permission, that's not so bad. It's very pleasing to God when we ask permission, even to do good things.
Obedience is top of the tops.
It describes us as Catholic.
I feel like I could die.
We are NOT bound by obedience in matters of Faith and Morals when any Church figure, even the pope, attempts to change or bind that which he has ZERO authority to!!!
We lay people are not bound by the promises or vows made by a priest or religious to his superiors; it is a serious error for religious or priests (or even Third Orders etc.) when they attempt to impose upon the laity a level of obedience reserved to religious or priests.
The Pope's it.
That just about sum's it up.
The Pope's it
If he’s the pope…
Satan's at your shoulder.
Pope BXVI clarified with Summorum Pontificum that the TLM was never abrogated, nor could it ever be, despite Pope Paul’s VI’s promulgation of the Novus Ordo.
So PF CANNOT abrogate the TLM. If he tried it would be proof he’s not a valid pope.
And yes, diabolical disorientation is universal right now, and I could be fooled somehow on this issue. Any of us could, without exception.
If the Pope himself told me to reject Jesus, I would say NO.
Let's all chill and check the parameters
Everyone has a hot button issue. This one just happens to be mine. Mea culpa.
