I suspect that this is the best video Father Mark has ever produced. He is so young and seems like a little child to me. Yet what he says here about the Cross is so profound and wise. He is clearly a young man of very deep prayer and thought, bless him. He talks about the necessity of prayer in our life . That we should be concerned if we are NOT experiencing the Cross in our lives; that the Cross is a great Sign that we are climbing the Mountain of God. This is so counter cultural. Pagans would be baffled by such a teaching as indeed St Paul said. 1 Corinthians 1:18-19 Paul writes. "The message of the cross is complete absurdity to those who are headed for ruin, but to us who are experiencing salvation it is the power of God." The cross is a stumbling block to many.
Father Mark's post caused me to lie awake looking at the ceiling thinking and praying, 'What Cross am I carrying at the moment?' I suppose it is a good question for any Christian to ask himself. We may say no Cross, no Christ. Well I have to say I am living a very, very happy and fulfilled life. Kind of living the dream as they say. I am retired and having the life of Riley. No work. Two pensions. I own my own home. Loads of time for prayer reading , Mass everyday, loads of lovely walks with a great big dog. Doing what I like when I like it. Never bored and although I live alone never ever lonely or bored for a second. A lovely home, good enough neighbours, the list of blessings goes on and on. At the moment I am so happy and excited at getting ready to move to Spain. Next Friday I fly our to Spain with two of my brothers to view what I hope to be my new home. So I am pretty well buried over my head in blessings. https://quasarhomes.com/property/rural-cottage-with-land-and-a-stone-house-to-renovate/ Description This rural cottage is habitable in a simple way and in need of smaller refurbishments. Are you trying to be closer to the miracle at Garabandal Padraig? Is that part of the reason your moving to Spain besides the beauty?
I think at the time of the miracle travel will be quite difficult. Certainly International travel. But t the time if I can get the courage I will try. But I am going to the place I am going because I feel guided there in prayer, to have a Marian Refuge, to help people. Those who help themselves will perish. Those who help others will live forever. Even if they die.
It is very exciting. Though I think as you get older big adventures are less of a draw. But if you have a dream.....I'd hate myself if I didn't even try. an old scardey cat.
Did you notice the tiny little Chapel at the corner of what is to be my field? If ever there was a little sign...
I did I indeed notice, and I thought only Padraig could find a property a stones throw from a chapel.
