What interpretations to ponder . . .i think the warning is unique to individuals. Perhaps at the first word of Warning! Some choose to stop, look, listen. Perhaps others are waiting for a grandiose special event. In a nutshell. God is trying to get our attention and sends many messengers. It is up to each person to listen, share, teach, and even console others in a crisis. In the meantime, be a Joyful follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and follow his commandments, He is your Peace.
Why do people persist in their own wishful thinking? Why do they insist on their right to interpret? Is this the Catholic way? Do we not have The Church for interpretation? While the Church has not officially approved Garabandal it has shown much support. There will be no choice about experiencing the Warning. The initial attention grabber will appear as two stars colliding. It will be worse than the worst earthquake. It will be like time stands still and every person in the world will have their own private revelation of their sins (the bad they have done) as they really are and their true consequences. They will be shown the good they should have done. Then and only then will they be free to choose, with a fully informed and corrected conscience, how they will respond to this revelation. Without exception this will be a terryfying experience. It will even be felt interiorly. Some may even die from the shock of undergoing the experience although its intention is not to kill but to break our hearts and bring us to true repentance. This is the Warning as we have been told it will happen. Every person in the world will go through it at the same time. None will be spared. It is a discrete event and will happen when tribulation is at its worst. Interpretation will not be the issue only a choice as to whether we accept it as coming fron God (for most this will be obvious) and cooperate with the Divine Will according to what have been shown. It will bring us to our knees. It will not be a matter of calmly deciding to "stop, look and listen." The event will be upon us and it will be between us and God. No kindly messengers have been mentioned in the witness to this ordeal. In the aftermath there will be time for kindness and consideration, for shared wisdom and care. But the event itself will have a greater impact than we can presently imagine. It will not be grandiose. God actions are never grandiose. God will be the only teacher because only God fully appreciates the full effect of sin. Only God fully knows how sin has offended Him. This is the knowledge that will come to us. I make no apologies for the dogmatic tone of this comment. This comment is not meant to be taken as just my opinion, not "just saying". This is what we have been told. Nothing else. We are free to take it or leave it. Not to change it. We are now being given a chance to prepare ourselves so we can better survive and survive better.
Aloysius, you are contradicting yourself here. You say we have The Church to reply on for interpretation, so please post a link showing where the Catholic Church has taught us that the "Warning" is how you say it will be? You say "Why do people persist in their own wishful thinking? Why do they insist on their right to interpret?" and then you go on a rant telling people what your interpretation is? Based on what facts taught to us by The Church? Am I the only one that is confused here?
Agreed Joe. And genuine prophecy has foretold such a time .All will seem lost. During this time, Our Lady foretold, "the secular Clergy will leave much to be desired because priests will become careless in their sacred duties. Lacking the divine compass, they will stray from the road traced by God for the priestly ministry, and they will become attached to wealth and riches, which they will unduly strive to obtain. How the Church will suffer during this dark night! Lacking a Prelate and Father to guide them with paternal love, gentleness, strength, wisdom and prudence, many priests will lose their spirit, placing their souls in great danger. This will mark the arrival of My hour."
FP. I am not interpreting. I am reporting. I am certainly not ranting. I never said the church has taught us the Warning will happen in this way. That is not the issue This is how the seers have told us it will be. And they have been blessed by saints and popes in their work of spreading the true message of Garabandal. Read the comment I made, not your vesion of what I said! There is no need for you to confuse matters or yourself for that matter. The Catholic approach to interpretation is different the Protestant approach. Please do not use this adjunct to divert from the purpose of my comment which is to report in clear and simple terms what we have been told from Garabandal. The Church as you well know, has withheld its final opinion on Garabandal but we are free to believe. We are not free to misquote the seers or put our own version of the Warning out there. I meet you eye to eye. I will not compromise on this. You can always ignore my comments.
I know little to nothing about Garabandal (or Medjugorgie for that matter). Fatima has always been enough for me. But I think it's wise to take your advice
Ah, genuine prophecy Mac? Gospel truth prophecy, what and where is this mythical thing? How would one ever know for sure before the fact? Noone knows that Mac, not even the Pope... that's why belief is always ooptional .
None of this matters in this current debate though if neither are right. I am not saying that Garabandal and/or Charlie are not right, but what I am saying is, without church approval, we can never be certain that these messages are legit. I am quite knowledgeable about Garabandal thanks to Glenn and this forum and personally believe them, but then again, there is still a possibility that the prophecies given are not from heaven. Thankfully though, we may know once and for all soon enough for these important matters.
I have always had a question though on Garabandal. What is it that Conchita saw that made it different to what St. Faustina recorded. To me they seemed like the same event though Conchita's was much different in seeing the two stars colliding. Is the Warning something different to what St. Faustina recorded. Was she seeing the second coming? "Before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day." Message given to St. Faustina Diary of Divine Mercy, n. 83
Conchita did not say it was two stars but like two stars colliding. I know very little about St Faustina. As a saint, of course, she will know it all now. The Divine Mercy Chaplet was the first prayer I said in the chapel in Garabandal and I have done the novena. But my time is too limited to study this Saint.
Faith is a gift. We cannot opt to have it. When revelation is given we have the choice how to exercise the gift of faith. Disbelief is not always the best option especially if there is good motivation to belief.
Seems to me that the storm has already broken through Syria! Anyone noticed the elimination of national borders, refuge deluge or soon to be nuke competition in the Middle East....to toss them like basketballs by nuts who want to hurry the coming of the Mahdi...and Russia setting up forward bases there? At least those effected aren't looking elsewhere for something to happen.
I don't think Charlie's "angel" said anything about the warning but his interpretation he stated was his own opinion. What is strange though is why one would be in such a defensive mode with only an opinion against those who quote saints who basically agree about a coming universal correction of conscience via a universal Warning that will shake things up. So far I haven't noticed any such grand Mercy that would be the catalyst for large scale conversion but rather things only getting universally worse. Sometimes you have to go with your supposedly "lying eyes".
I used to post my belief that N.K.'s weapon of choice would be electro-magnetic pulse which involves harnessing and focusing gamma rays from a nuclear explosion, set off 30 kilometers or so above a city. Its main effect is to destroy and disrupt electrical circuitry and supply. It takes only a few moments to have this effect. Can you imagine the chaos this would cause? Lighting, heating, phones, computers, hospitals, prisons, cars....the list goes on. I hope I am wrong.
Joe I believe it is a theological mistake to equate Faith in public revelation on a par with "faith" in private revelation. One is essentially salvific the other is not. That is why the Church forces no one to accept any PR as necessarily true.
