This question about Spiritual Blindness always bring me back to the troubling issue of Bishops, Cardinals and Religious Superiors during the Child Abuse Crisis in the Church (which I suppose is still ongoing). Child abusers are the most evil people on Earth, totally dark. How come Bishops and Religious Superiors could not tell that they were evil even when they lived right alongside them? How could they not tell they were facing evil right up from even when they knew and accepted they were dealing with child abusers and even moved them on to other Parishes.?
