After the forest fires in Australia people in New Zealand experienced the orange sky and smoky air. My daughter, who lives there, said it was strange and unearthly but it soon cleared. The USA isn’t the only place to experience this. It wouldn’t surprise me if climate was responsible, here in the uk our winters are milder than they were in the 1960s (as far back as I remember) but the planet naturally goes through warmer phases. In Roman times the uk climate was much warmer than in the 18th century. No need for Greta’s hysterics
Hopefully the priests will give the right sermons to prepare the people in these times. Believers should be ready to die and not be afraid of death!
The fires in Canada are definitely fueling the climate crisis agenda. From what I heard, the lack of controlled burning in Canada is contributing to the problem. The fire departments where I live do controlled burns all the time since it minimizes the risk of out of control forest fires. NYC is a nightmare, they seem to be getting the worst of the smoke. I think it is a minor chastisement. My son sent me a photo taken at 1 pm yesterday and it was as black as night. He said there were multiple accidents on the roads due to poor visibility. God have mercy.
Funny we were just talking about death walking around the park this morning. After mass yesterday morning my vet, a gentleman who is a very devout, indeed holy Catholic came up to talk. He donates blood regularly and the Blood people rang him to tell him his red blood cells count had suddenly dropped dramatically..a big sign for cancer. They did a ct Scan but no tumours so they are now doing a whole battery of other tests. So this brought up the subject of death. My friend said he would be happy if he had another 15 years. But I said that I would be very happy if God decided to take me home tonight. I have been like this pretty well all my life. I do not fear death and when it comes I will be happy enough to welcome it. Life is a great gift and I find it a pleasure and joy, but I know that life does not end here. It really does not end, when we die we are just being born into Eternal Life. I think this way of looking at things helped me a lot during the virus lock downs. But I see it has driven huge amounts of people, especially young people into mental illness. When Blessed Dom Marmion was dying he was asked about being ready and he said he was. He said he had thought about death every day for the previous 12 years. This is very old school Catholic. But in either case, if we have a living Faith I think it should cut down fear of death very, very considerably. At least I would hope so. Many saints actually looked forward to death, sometimes with great eagerness.
Wise words from St. Francis de Sales. The older I get the more I pull back from worldly things that once brought pleasure. What was so important before, no longer matters. My personal world has become much smaller.
Our earthly life is preparing us for our eternal life. The gift and job you have on earth will be your job in heaven. I am hoping to be a creative in heaven and also be in a choir. That’s why we are all given different gifts. Perhaps your job will be a communicator since you fulfilled Our Mothers request by starting this group. In heaven our jobs will not be work they will be a joy. QUOTE="padraig, post: 420104, member: 2"]Funny we were just talking about death walking around the park this morning. Dutchsinse has the satellite view of the "natural" origin of some of these fires. Makes one think. https://twitter.com/sovereignbrah/status/1666618063188553728?s=20
Dozens of fires start at the same time in clear weather in northern Quebec, Canada. Another psychop by global warming goons? Fire only start in 3 ways.... Lightning, accident or arson. None have anything to do with so called climate change. https://twitter.com/wideawake_media...mate-change-theory-to-blame-for-quebec-fires/
Tbh, not a big follower of softball, but this is so refreshing to hear young people sharing faith so publicly and courageously https://twitter.com/florida_grand/s...88348768182273¤tTweetUser=florida_grand

Here is a first hand account with videos of the recent "orange smoke" in NYC by Naomi Wolf. She says that her lungs were burning at one point and she decided to get out of the city And just outside the city to the north of Manhattan, there was no smoke at all. Orange haze gone. How can this be if the smoke is due to fires in Canada to the north? She asks some good questions and concludes this: So this brings me to my deepest fear. Whatever may have caused that crazy smoke — whether it is organic, or climate change; or whether it is arson, or God forbid something worse and more intentional and more focused on America’s greatest city — the most serious injury to humanity, the greatest damage, is not physical; it is the fact that when the skies turned orange overhead and smoke surrounded them, almost all of the people you see in the images in midtown Manhattan just kept going about their business. Prayers for everyone affected by these fires.
There has been much discussion on social media concerning the color of this fire. The air was definitely toxic, my son said he was choking and had to resort to a mask. Some are speculating that chemicals may have used, and a possible connection between the fires and the disappearance of ammonium nitrate from the train derailment in early May. We'll probably never know the truth.
I hope that your son is ok Jo. You're right, we probably will never know the truth. But can we hope that people will oppose the climate story? If they don't, that will lead to more restrictions - I see access to parks closed in Canada, which is not good news in summer as these are vacation grounds. Also, look at what happened in California after so many fires: some regions were declared high risk and insurance either very expensive or not available. If insurance companies won't insure homes, people won't be able to live there or sell them. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/27/sta...ers-insurance-applications-in-california.html https://www.cbsnews.com/news/allstate-insurance-state-farm-california/ Another very sad thing: I notice that many fires in the middle of nowhere are forcing indiginous people off their land. I saw a headline that the Prime Minister ordered the Cree to evacuate their land in Quebec and in searching for info, I see so many others have been forced off their land over the years due to fires. Isn't their ownership of land supposed to be sacred after everything that was done to them? Seems it's the case in Australia too: https://www.anu.edu.au/news/all-news/bushfires-disproportionately-impact-indigenous-australians Spiritdaily has an interesting post here too: https://spiritdailyblog.com/news/prophecy-and-pertinence Pray, pray, pray!
In the comments of the article written by that female reporter a few posts up, I saw people asking each other if it's normal to have this orange or red apocalyptic sky when there are nearby fires...and the various responses were generally yes. But I noticed something strange and interesting. They all added it's been like that for the last few years. I didn't see anyone say it's been like that as long as they can remember, or for several decades. Just the last few years. Even though wildfires have been around forever... Has anyone kept a list of the places across the world that has experienced an eerie red sky in the last few years? Could it be a sign from God--a map, as it were--of coming judgment on those places? I know my best friend who lives in Oregon and experienced the red sky that happened in the Northwest a couple years ago said that people felt a great unease...like it was a harbinger of something. There is definitely a spiritual effect on people when they experience this red sky. I don't think that's a coincidence.
It’s very eerie. My pregnant daughter Sophia lives in Manhattan. And she was very worried. But fortunately she had a wedding in Italy. She and her husband this week will be away. Praise God!
