Posted on the news - New test results from The Institute of Crystallograp determine The Shroud is 2000 years old, “We obtained one-dimensional integrated WAXS data profiles for the T[urin Shroud] sample, which were fully compatible with the analogous measurements obtained on a linen sample whose dating, according to historical records, is 55–74 AD, Siege of Masada (Israel)," the Institute” “The Institute of Crystallography's 2024 findings contradict the results of a dating test conducted on the Shroud in 1988, which found that it only dated back to about 1350. During the 1988 dating, the Shroud was analyzed by three separate labs. Those results bolstered serious doubts over the Shroud's authenticity. “ “The Institute's new results indicate that "the T[urin Shroud] fabric is much older than the seven centuries proposed by the 1988 radiocarbon dating. The Institute notes that its findings are "experimental," but that they are compatible with "13 centuries of unknown history, in addition to the seven centuries of known history in Europe." “Beyond the scientific world, the faithful worldwide have taken great interest in the Shroud of Turin as potential proof of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.” “Fox News Digital reached out to Bishop Robert Barron, founder of Word on Fire ministry, regarding the findings. "I have had a long fascination for the Shroud of Turin. It first came to my attention when I was 16 and I read everything I could about the Shroud- its history and provenance, arguments regarding its authenticity, and the scientific research," said the Bishop. "As such the recent news that the use of new technology had led to a different conclusion than a carbon dating test conducted in 1988. It seems that there is now new evidence that strengthens the hypothesis that the cloth of the Shroud is contemporary to the time of Christ." “The Bishop clarified, "our faith in Christ's resurrection is in no way dependent on the Shroud but its uncanny power to capture our attention and many other mysteries have strengthened the faith of many." "I believe the continued fascination people have for the Shroud is an indication of the continued relevance of Christ to even a culture as secular as our own. But it also reveals that in the midst of a prevailing secularism people remain drawn to the uncanny, spiritual aspects of our existence and desire to experience for themselves the mysteries of God."
Did you see how they had AI create an image of what Jesus may have looked like? It is so beautiful to me especially his eyes! https://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/1938934/Jesus-face-AI-Turin-Shroud
Yes. So like the portrait of him based on the image from the shroud. Done many years ago from a Lebanese artist i think.
This was the closest picture I think to Jesus I have ever seen. I must get a print. The only thing is the doorway to the soul is the eyes. How could anyone get the eyes right?
Any image created using Midjourney AI is a fake. AI goes into ‘the cloud’ and steals bits and pieces of every image of Jesus and creates its own image based on many artistic interpretations including shroud and painted interpretations. It had nothing to do with artistic or scientific analysis of the Shroud. While the image circulating could be inspiring to viewers it is a fake and scam. I have used Midjourney and understand how it works. Unfortunately we live in a fake world of gas lighting. Good info. I still prefer the oil portrait done several years ago. The artist used the face on the shroud to portray Jesus as He looked in life. It is a beautiful rendering.
Do you know the name of the artist? I did find one by an Armenian artist. Armenian artist, Ariel (Haroutin) Agemian’s “reproduction of Christ from The Shroud of Turin image15.png (326×480)
St Bernadette always rejected all the statues and paintings of Our Lady as she described her . Someone once asked her if she had ever seen a painting that even looked a little like her as she saw her in Lourdes. She named one, an impressionist painting by an artist from Britain by Impressionists try to see with the eyes of the heart. It is like this in Church everyday. Some people look very, very beautiful. But we have to see them with the eyes of the heart
I just found out that over 34 trillion watts of light were released to form the impressions on the shroud. This in terms of energy is 34,000 Gigawatts. Enough energy to power 3 billion American households for a year. https://www.christianpost.com/voice...validates-the-shroud-of-turins-antiquity.html https://www.carboncollective.co/sustainable-investing/gigawatt-gw
