What a brave woman. Let's pray for her. Again, interesting that this is being led by a Protestant. I love her answer to under who's authority are you not issuing licenses. Her simple answer : "under God's authority". So, we are now at another tipping point in America. This woman will most likely be fined and perhaps even imprisoned for her faith. Of course, the MSM will spin it as not following the law.

So now the our country has taken the first action in criminalizing and incarcerating citizens fir their religious beliefs. I strongly believe thus unprecedented action now opens the flood gates and we will see many, many more citizens imprisoned because of their deeply held and supposedly protected First Amendment rights.

This once again reinforces that this is not simply about a "couple" seeking marriage but a well orchestrated plan to continue taking this country down a path where God is being removed from society. This also is a full frontal attack on freedom of religion. When you think of all the accommodations made for Muslims, but we can't make an accommodation for this woman, then you know it's an attack on Christianity.

Yes, indeed, Charlie, Mark, and the many other "prophets" of our day are right. We are in the storm now. To think of how many brave men and women fought to protect religious liberty over the years from outside threats and now we have lost it due to an insidious evilness from within. I pray and hope and beg God to forgive us.

They keep chopping the tree with finger nail scratches. The sad part is the tree is about to fall. When the democratic party tried to take God out from their platfornm during the last Presidential election...the vote was pretty sad. When the word God stayed in their platform 1/2 the venue boo'd and jeered. It sounded very evil. The world is changing very quickly and we are becoming the true minority. I just take comfort that as the world gets darker...God sends down great saints to battle the evil.

While I agree with the Clerk in Kentucky not wanting to issue marriage licenses to gays, it doesn't help the Christian cause that she has been married and divorced. Her current husband being the 4th husband. So the media of course is emphazing that part of the story. Protestants do not have an annulment process the way the Catholic Church does to sort out these issues. So they point out that she is following the verses in Scripture that support her view, and completely ignoring the part that says divorcing and remarring is adultry. I think if it were me....I would have resigned after they made Gay Marriage legal, just because I know I wouldn't be able to follow through and issue a marriage license to Gays either.

This is exactly why they will all return to the True Church. Everything else is a weak branch.

St John Bosco states this in his dream.

It is my understanding that she did all this before she converted to the Lord. I live about 60 miles from all of this and have been following it closely.

Yes, I saw that part of the stroy too. But if you are married and divorced and remarried and you are a convert to Catholism, you still have to go through the annulment process in order to come into the Church. Unless I am mistaken, I don't think there are exceptions. It doesn't seem to work that way for Protestants.....so does it mean because she responded to an alter call and she's "born again", everything is ok..... I've seen lots of Protestants over the years say they are "saved no matter what" and continue with the same lifestyle as before. It makes it hard for the whole Christian cause when people live and behave this way. I wish I could "do what ever I want, cause I'm saved", but my conscience tells me that just isn't true.

You would not need an annulment if you were not a Christian in those marriages because you never married and made your commitment to God. You would just have been a fornicator. If you were another Christian and married in a Christian church and then divorced, then yes you would have to seek annulment because you were married before God.

and yes, you just hit my main point to Protestants about once saved always saved. It goes against so many biblical sayings especially the ones from the Lord. If you are not living Christ like you will not get the reward. Somehow they just don't see this and yet they claim to be if it is in the bible then we believe it. Many Protestants are so lost in their faith because they don't truly know the faith, just what they have been taught. They say it is only faith and not works and yet faith without works is empty. Saying you believe in the Lord is not enough if you don't act like the Lord wishes you to act.

    Mathew 25:
[31] And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty. [32] And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats: [33] And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left. [34] Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. [35] For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in:

[36] Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. [37] Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink? [38] And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee? [39] Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? [40] And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

[41] Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels. [42] For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink. [43] I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me. [44] Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee? [45] Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.

[46] And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.

EXACTLY!.... I spent eight months filling out paper work for my annulment. 30 pages type written very detailed...heart breaking because I wanted to be honest, candid and thorough. I had to provide names of witnesses and they had to complete paper work also. Then more than a year went by and I received a letter that I was granted my annulment. But in the Byzantine Church they automatically send it to the second level, so I had to wait almost two more months for the second level to confirm everything. I prayed and prayed and prayed....then I prayed some more. It was worth it. It was confirmation of what I already knew.

During one of the BVM's apparitions to Jancita at Fatima that, Mary said "many marriages are not from God". That was in 1917. It's even more true today, than it was back then. The devil is good at bringing people together that shouldn't be and convincing us that relationships are right when they are not. That's why the divorce rate is so high, and now the whole "gay" marriage thing has become legal.

I don't think there is any particular sanctity in being strong enough to stand up for one's own views. Her three previous marriages seem to attest to this strength of character.

For me the better Christian witness would have been to hold firm to her position and resign her job if she was unable to perform the new and unsavoury duties required by that position. Of course that scenario would get less political cache or limelight.
I don't really see how Christianity can be "promoted" by this sort of political theatrics.

Ok BH - just you lie down and let them walk all over you!

You are not in a position to determine what for her is 'the better Christian witness' nor is it a pantomime as you allude to as she is incarcerated for her beliefs.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I did not want to become involved in political theatrics

With all due respect. It isn't about what you would do or I would do.

It is about what Kim Davis wants to do. It is her prerogative to give Christian witness in the way that she wants.

She has my admiration not my criticism.

Garabandal what are you even on about.
I am providing my personal view on the matter, as have others here, as a witness of this spectacle, that is hardly determining what she may or may not do.
Obviously you hold a contrary view which is no more objective than mine. And you are very welcome to air it here too.

And it's my view this is not the most mature of Christian witnessing I have been subject to. Though some easily confuse strength with faith.

Yes lying down and being walked over is in the end the ultimate act of courage and faith as Jesus demonstrated. Ours is not a Muslim like power religion.
