  2. White House Homepage Features First Couple in Sistine Chapel for Religious Freedom Day
    199

If a picture paints a thousand words, then the White House’s choice of image for its homepage—featuring President and Mrs. Trump in the Vatican Sistine Chapel—tells an entire story of the President’s commitment to religious liberty.

The photograph, taken during the first couple’s visit to the Vatican last May, bears the caption: “No American Should Have to Choose Between Faith and the Law.” The backdrop for the image is Michelangelo’s massive fresco painting of the Last Judgment.

On Tuesday, President Trump declared January 16, 2018, as “Religious Freedom Day,” while specifically referencing notable examples of violations of this fundamental freedom even on American soil.

“Unfortunately, not all have recognized the importance of religious freedom, whether by threatening tax consequences for particular forms of religious speech, or forcing people to comply with laws that violate their core religious beliefs without sufficient justification,” he noted in a thinly veiled reference to Obamacare and the HHS Mandate.

“These incursions, little by little, can destroy the fundamental freedom underlying our democracy,” he said.

“No American — whether a nun, nurse, baker, or business owner — should be forced to choose between the tenets of faith or adherence to the law,” Mr. Trump said.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump promised to defend the religious freedom of Americans, while criticizing Hillary Clinton’s wish to follow President Obama’s lead in forcing the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for contraceptives in their health care plan “and having the government fine them heavily if they continue to refuse to abide by this onerous mandate.”

“That is a hostility to religious liberty you will never see in a Trump Administration,” he said in a letter dated Oct. 5, 2016.

The prominent evangelical pastor Franklin Graham has called President Donald Trump the most vocal defender of the Christian faith of any president in recent history.

“Never in my lifetime have we had [a president] willing to take such a strong outspoken stand for the Christian faith” like [Donald Trump],” Graham tweeted last month. “We need to get behind him with our prayers.”

In his proclamation Tuesday, the President promised to be a defender of religious freedom beyond America’s borders, where religious persecution is often violated.

“The United States is also the paramount champion for religious freedom around the world, because we do not believe that conscience rights are only for Americans,” he said. “We will continue to condemn and combat extremism, terrorism, and violence against people of faith, including genocide waged by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria against Yezidis, Christians, and Shia Muslims.”

“Faith breathes life and hope into our world. We must diligently guard, preserve, and cherish this unalienable right,” he said.

  4. Mark Taylor has prophesied that there will eventually be 5 SCOTUS replacements by Trump. One is taken care of so far. Not to wish anyone ill but this one has what sounds like a pretty serious illness and might be considered for one of those to retire in the near future....besides Kennedy's plans of retiring sometime soon.

  5. I'll watch his ACTIONS - talk is cheap.
Donald Trump has said all kinds of things - he says whatever is necessary, whenever it's necessary, to "close the deal" and get what he wants at the time. I'm half convinced that he's the Man of Lawlessness predicted in Thessolonians, ans the Little Horn predicted by Daniel.

There is no question how trump works for the unborn is extraordinary. That can not be honoured enough. Also other things he does are good in a religious sense.
So I would be interested in the opinion of someone of you who are closer to it. Despite all the negative propaganda, his earlier life didn´t seem very religious. I know about the Catholic background of Melania. Does anyone know anything about a conversion of Mr. Trump?

  8. He's already been "action man" for the cause of life (and for the cause of religious rights) We've already experienced a real "man of lawlessness" of sorts in the past 8 years here....and elsewhere!!

  9. I've seen interviews with some of those ministers President Trump keeps around him for prayer, intercession, and advice and they have witnessed to his real conversion. Of course we too are each day always on such a road ourselves and in need as well of prayer support. To face what Trump faces (how many already "established Christians" have themselves been so challenged for putting their beliefs into action has he has....and from not only the "swamp" in this country but from the whole world) and then to act contrary to what the NWO has already put in place is to my mind quite a testimony.....another bit of a David against a Goliath with perhaps as many faults as the original. David died with his own family warring against itself along with the memory of sins of his own past....as he said they would always be before him!

Steve he is the first American president to act on behalf of the unborn—not just talk. He has done some substantial prolife things—the latest to ensure a conscience-clause for religious based objections to aiding in or performing abortions or being forced to financially support abortion. I think that his awareness of God and the battle of good and evil that rages around us is a work in progress. He loves America in its best self and he has seen it eroded and undermined so he stepped forward to do something about it. I believe with that sacrifice and that risk came grace from God. For me the yardstick I use to measure him comes from who his enemies are. The virulent hatred from the far left, the extreme feminists, Hollywood elites and open borders shills tells me a lot! Witches—yes witches...weird huh?—are busy trying to curse him. We are judged by our enemies as well as our friends. Scripture says “beware when all men speak well of you.”
I think his very brashness and hard nosed attitude has helped him survive this unparalleled onslaught. I think trulyGod May have raised him up for “such a time as this.” I pray for him because I think he has really kicked over the hornets nest in a righteous cause.

The Hermit of Loreto was led by God to put Donald J. Trump's name on a brick during the Holy Year at the Vatican.
This was way back in what? 1999 or 2000? Someone might clarify for me.
At present, he has ministers who regularly meet with him for prayer. He has spoken of God in his public addresses, he had the Lord's Prayer led by Melania,
he mentioned the words Merry Christmas numerous times instead of Happy Holidays....he is trying to overcome this far left "political correctness."
I think he might be Episcopalian.
His actions do indeed speak loudly in a Christian sense.

Earthtoangels, AED and HeavenlyHosts thank you for the answers.

I take your comments and understand that President Trump shows great courage and steadfast.
I'm just wondering if this is real. Did he ever say something like regret about his former behavior.
I mean e.g. his behavior towards women or employees. I know this personal level is really none of our business, it could really be that I'm a worse person. Also I do not want to judge him, it would only be interesting to know. Just think he must have changed to be real.

A short note. In my country, if a leading politician would regulate abortion a little more restrictively and then would pray the Pater Noster in public, his political career would be over immediately.

Why Do They Hate Trump? The Answer from a Fatima Perspective.
    by Christopher A. Ferrara

    January 18, 2017

From this Fatima perspective, which is to say the Catholic perspective, it is no mystery why all the powers that be, led by the jabbering jackals of the mass media, have combined in a desperate and quite unprecedented attempt to find a way — any way — to oust a duly elected President from office in what would amount to the first coup d’état in the history of the American republic. (I will not discuss here the veritable coup d’état by which the Continental Congress morphed into a centralized federal government behind closed doors in Philadelphia.)

Donald Trump’s personality, his penchant for crass rhetoric, his alleged sexual misconduct many years ago — his whatever — have nothing to do with the hatred he elicits from what I call the World Oligarchic Complex (WOC), which had assumed as a given the election of Hillary Clinton and the final trump of radical evil in politics.

The reason the WOC labors to destroy Trump is very simple: his policies. The WOC recognizes that Trump, with all his faults, represents significant opposition to a diabolic worldwide regime marked by the unholy trinity of contraception, abortion and sodomy.

For example, as Life Site News summarizes, since his election Trump has:

Then there is his ban on the recruitment of “transgender” persons in the military and his reversal of the insane Obama-era “instruction” (completely without the force of law) that schools allow “transgender children” to use the bathrooms of the opposite sex.

Also, rather sensationally, Trump has appointed a family man with three children to replace as US Ambassador to Spain, a “pro-LGBT openly gay man ‘married’ to a man”, signaling that he has abandoned “Obama’s plans to ‘impose the LGBT agenda in the world through diplomatic pressures.’”

And now the White House has announced that Trump will be “the first sitting president to address the March for Life from the White House live via satellite” for the stated reason that “The President is committed to protecting the life of the unborn and he is excited to be part of this historic event.” As Life Site notes, Trump has even gone so far as to call out the “fake news media” for “giving extensive coverage to a pro-abortion march but not to the March for Life, the largest pro-life event in the world.”

Trump, whose wife has revealed herself to be a Catholic to the horror of the Washington Post, has even dared to give a Christmas Message in which he referred to “the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” and noted that “The Christmas story begins 2000 years ago with a mother, a father, their baby son, and the most extraordinary gift of all, the gift of God’s love for all of humanity.” (I make no comment here on Melania Trump’s standing with the Church or the state of Trump’s soul. Suffice it to note that God has not refrained from using morally compromised rulers as instruments for good, ultimately bringing about their repentance and conversion. King David, a murderer and an adulterer, is the foremost Scriptural example.)

A simple thought experiment confirms the point I am making: Imagine that Trump had done none of these things but rather had revealed himself to be a promoter or at least a non-opponent of contraception, abortion and sodomy in the manner of a typical liberal Republican. Would the WOC now be marshaling all its forces to destroy him? The question answers itself.

In short, Trump — in spite of his own background — represents a most unexpected impediment to the final triumph of radical evil in America and throughout the Western world. Clearly, Trump has to go. Thus, the WOC pursues his downfall with all the ferocity of an agitated swarm of killer bees whose hive has been disturbed by an intruder.

I am reminded of Pius XII’s warning inEvangelii Praecones: “Venerable Brethren, you are well aware that almost the whole human race is today allowing itself to be driven into two opposing camps, for Christ or against Christ. The human race is involved today in a supreme crisis, which will issue in its salvation by Christ, or in its dire destruction.”

Such indeed is the Message that the Virgin Mother of God conveyed at Fatima — a Message to which the generality of Catholic churchmen today have turned a deaf ear, with even Pope Francis and the Vatican lining up against Trump’s sensible immigration policies. Truly it is a mystery of iniquity and a harbinger of a dramatic resolution to come, when the Lord of History infallibly executes His divine Will in the manner Our Lady of Fatima has promised.

Indeed Barack Obama is the antithesis of pro-life. While he displayed coyness about his beliefs of homosexual marriage in his first term, he was always 'very clear" about promoting and supporting abortion. Even as an Illinois state senate, he was adamant about withholding medical care to babies who survived their botched abortions.

Trump is currently pro life and pro religious freedom, and he has been the only POTUS who indeed attended this march. Reagan and GW Bush while they verbally supported the March, they never showed up, as Trump did.
